What You Can Expect

As our Building Maintenance Worker, at Georgetown University you will be responsible for performing general central plant work in support of the operation of the Central Plant, which provides heating and cooling for university physical facilities. This Plant has been designated as a National Exemplary Plant. Every day you will maintain the entire plant appearance, to include among daily duties sweeping, mopping, stocking restrooms, removal of trash and debris from inside and outside power plant.  And you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a HS Diploma or GED with two years’ experience performing general building maintenance work utilizing electrical, plumbing, carpentry/lock, basic HVAC maintenance skills
  • You have experience painting of entire plants and all machinery in accordance with OSHA rules
  • You can maintain inventory control and issuing parts and material to employees
  • You will receive and log material from vendors into the stockrooms
  • You can receive incoming deliveries
  • You will ensure adequate supply of paper products daily; and make sure all plant offices, bathrooms, floors are kept clean
  • You have experience in assisting in maintenance and operation of plant equipment; along with related trades in repairing steam, chill water, condensate, and domestic water lines
  • You will perform other duties assigned

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/will drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
  • This position consists of 50% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Willingness to develop technical proficiency in some software applications (Maximo, SAP, ADP)

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $22.88/ USD hourly

What You Can Expect

As our Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic, at Georgetown University you will be responsible for executing inspections, preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment to maintain campus utility production and distribution systems of steam, chilled water, condensate, and domestic water while optimizing operating costs. What You’ll Bring

  • You will need a High School Diploma, or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience in the maintenance, rebuilding, and repairing of mechanical equipment, or the equivalent combination of training and experience is required due to the complexity of the plant systems 

  • You have the ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints
  • You can read process and identify drawings of plant equipment and distribution systems
  • Your maintenance tasks may include but are not limited to mechanical alignment, lubrication, inspection and vibration monitoring

Een greep uit jouw takenpakket:

  • Je bent van A tot Z verantwoordelijk voor verschillende mechanische onderhoudsprojecten op onze productiesites.
  • Je werkt mee aan onze nieuwste projecten (bv ontwikkelingsprojecten voor productie van groene waterstof of projecten voor het capteren van CO2) en draagt op die manier actief bij aan de energietransitie

JOUW PROFIEL als Projectingenieur mechanisch (V/M/X)

 

  • Je bent in het bezit van een ingenieursdiploma of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
  • Je uitvalsbasis is Gent maar je bent bereid om je regelmatig te verplaatsen (25% van je tijd) naar de verschillende centrales. 
  • Je staat graag in contact met mensen en hebt de juiste drive om ze te motiveren.
  • Je weet van aanpakken en stelt de juiste prioriteiten.
  • Je kan je vlot uitdrukken in het Nederlands en je deinst er niet voor terug om in het Engels of Frans met onze contractoren te spreken.

Job Purpose:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, Generators and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.

This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third party vendors.

They are expected to be a single focal point for all facility operations within a given data center.

The Technician should be able to support the DC-operations for delivering 99.999% uptime.

This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems like BMS, DCIM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and Daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s (UPS, LV Panels, Switchgears, Busway systems, BMS, DCIM, Controllers, ELV Systems) and Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility electrical, and ELV systems.
  • Maintain, operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, building management system.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Supervisor assigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken;
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Should be able to comply with HSE norms and understand the PTW process.
  • Should be able to working in shifts (24X7).
  • Should be able to drive the operational requirements with minimum supervision and guidance.
  • Should understand the criticality of business uptime to serve the Data center facility operations.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
  • Attend training sessions and seminars.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.

Skills Required:

 

  • Good knowledge of power systems (UPS's, Control Panels, DB’s, Busway systems, Generators)
  • Basic knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, Chillers, Fire and safety, BMS, ELV Systems)
  • Working knowledge of UPS systems and associated switch gear and Distribution Panels
  • Working knowledge of standby generator systems and associated switch gear.
  • Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment’s and components.

Context:

 

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of around 40 quantitative analysts. It’s mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst will be part of the “Power & Emissions” quant team (approximately 10 people) and will be fully dedicated to the Business Platform Power Trading, Origination and Structuring.

 

 

Role:

 

The quantitative analyst should design and provide robust quantitative tools that have a concrete impact on the power business:

  • Work very closely with the BP Power Trading, Structuring and Origination, and mainly with the Renewable and Batteries Trading team and the Asset Backed Power Trading team. He / She needs to understand their business needs, and needs to provide them with high-quality quantitative support in their day to day activities.
  • Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.
  • Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricers in the official pricing library.
  • Play a key role for developing new products, linked for example to the renewable and battery business (pricing, managing strategies, various risk indicators, …).
  • Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.
  • Document and share knowledge across GEMS on the different models used within GEMS.

 

 

Hard skills:

 

  • Must have:
    • Strong Financial Mathematical background (probability, stochastic calculus, various numerical methods such as Monte Carlo, finite differences, …)
