What You Can Expect

As our Health and Safety Advisor in Houston, TX, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health and Safety programs for the Distributed Solar & Storage (DSS) team, partnering with other Business Entities and Operating Companies’ and H&S staff to influence an organizational culture that leads to an injury free working environment. Every day you will support safety excellence through engaging with project staff and leadership, incident review, safety trend tracking, and providing training and guidance. You will report to the HSE Director and assist in development and implementation of a Health and Safety (H&S) Management System that encompasses standards of excellence, programs, policies, procedures and processes for ENGIE Energy Solutions (ES) North America.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Engineering or Business
  • A minimum seven (7) years’ Safety compliance, with three (3) of those years’ experience in the energy sector and/or commercial and industrial construction
  • Subject matter expert in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910 and 1926
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis tools and their application for recordable events
  • Experience with behavioral science and the psychology behind influencing change
  • You feel confident in supporting H&S database management and providing required monthly statistical reports to ES North America Business Unit (BU) corporate and Business Entity (BE) executives
  • As our Health and Safety Advisor you will conduct regular onsite training, supervision, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • As directed, you will lead serious incident investigations into High Potential (HiPo) incidents, including those that result in a lost time accident 
  • You can identify countermeasures to prevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standard
  • You have managed the selection of third-party H&S auditors, consultants and contractors
  • You have experience reviewing contractor safety plans and procedures to assure their standard is equal or more stringent than ES North America’s safety criteria as stipulated in the procurement Terms & Conditions

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to operational sites
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite 
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 50% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record for rental cars through ENGIE

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

As our Procurement Assistant, Intern, at The Ohio State University. You will be responsible for assisting an ENGIE project manager with the purchasing, document management, and invoicing for the Combined Heat and Powerplant (CHP) project. As our Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for the design and grid connection of rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted solar PV and energy storage installations for ENGIE Energy Solutions.   • Evaluate building electrical systems and utility infrastructure to create and maintain PV system design templates, standards, and specifications
  • Develop and write standards for PV system components, performing electrical calculations, selecting equipment, and determining utility or facility interconnection
  • Prepare equipment specifications for procurement, coordinating bidding, permitting, and construction in line with ENGIE’s design standards
  • Organize and apply national and regional codes from Jurisdictions Having Authority (JHA) and utilities for compliance with electrical, building, and interconnection practices
  • Oversee junior team members and document completed installations for as-built drawings, while staying updated on new technologies, codes, and industry best practices

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position, designing electrical systems and producing construction drawing sets and documentation including wire sizing, protection system coordination, grounding systems, relay schematic, settings design, and equipment specification
  • You have strong familiarity with the National Electric Code and other design codes, along with experience in electrical power systems design and implementation
  • You are proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, protective relaying (SEL), and data acquisition programming and design
  • You are knowledgeable in specifying and sourcing electrical equipment for low (up to 600V) and medium voltage (up to 34.5kV) applications
  • You are an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) pursuing an Electrical Power Systems Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, with a flexible attitude and technical proficiency
  • You have strong communication skills (written and verbal), take ownership of projects, and contribute to company-wide strategy while developing leadership skills and encouraging innovation

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management Engineering, or related field
  • You have five 5 years of experience in a related field where you have provided field support during execution of capital projects which involves monitoring contract performance, reviewing project invoicing for contract compliance, tracking project milestones, and timely addressing any issues that arise
  • You have a background in construction contract development, contract management or project execution
  • You have an experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management

You will work a hybrid schedule from WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant in Richmond, CA. This internship is for the Spring semester from January 2025 to March 2024.

 

You will gain experience in marketing, social media work, and community outreach. There will also be public speaking, research, and copyediting. You will assist the Communications Manager, travel within the district to visit work sites, WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant.

What You Can Expect

Our Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Senior, located at the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA. will be responsible for maintenance and installation of in-plant and/or satellite plant equipment.   The work includes the proper maintenance and operation of complex electrical systems, computers, controls systems, and equipment that can directly affect the safety and operation of the plant

  

No two days are the same in this role. The only thing that is assured is that we are going to start the day focused on safety. We will be lining out the day’s work, and planning safety procedures as required by OSHA and company policy. We will also ensure that we have the materials  and support to complete the scheduled tasks safely and efficiently.  Skills like reading diagrams and schematics and drawings of utility systems are used daily.  We also troubleshoot and install Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) both physically, and through software and firmware configurations.  You will also recommend updates and system improvements for a variety of internal groups.

The daily work will consists of a  variety of  new installations and upgrades, to unscheduled maintenance that will challenge your troubleshooting skills. This position requires multiple daily commitments. The first is to safety, the second is to learning, and adapting to new systems, software, and maintaining your expertise in your craft.

This employee is required to be on-call on a scheduled basis and must be able to respond on location within one (1) hour of notification

 This role requires the ability to work in confined spaces in the plants.  You must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas, pipes and the like)

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • This role requires a minimum educational level of a High School Diploma or GED
  • This position requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience; or a combination of  experience and advanced education or training that totals six (6) years, that is directly applicable to this role. Such as, military training , or an associates  or certificate based program in electrical or electronics
  • With this six years of training and work experience you will have gained  knowledge and experience in servicing utility systems, including  four (4) years of industrial plant or power plants  and a minimum of one year of PLC and DCS programming
  • You will be experienced in proper application of hand tools, multimeters, and other testing and repair equipment to effectively troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation and controls equipment
  • You have experience applying proper electrical codes, manufacturer guidelines and  the regulations and guidelines of local, state, and national electrical and safety codes
  • You are skilled in the calibration of utility instrumentation, and knowledgeable in control systems
  • Must have troubleshooting and maintenance skills in CEMs, DCS, PLCs, Supervisor Control Systems, medium voltage electrical and related control systems.  We currently use RSLogix 5, 500, Studio 5000, RSlinx, Factory Talk, and  PlantPax
  • Strong computer background on PCs, emission controls, distributed logic controllers (DCS), networks, and pneumatics
  • Must be able to read, interpret and work with service manuals, blueprints, sketches, technical manuals, control wire diagrams and other written instructions to evaluate all electrical maintenance and logic in accordance with local and national codes
  • Accountable to immediate supervisor for ensuring adherence to the Plant’s Safety and Environmental Programs, taking all reasonable precautions to prevent incidents of noncompliance.  Shall immediately report any known or suspected violations to your Supervisor and/or Management Personnel
  • You are experienced in network architectures and Ethernet networks using routers and switches. You understand the variations in platform protocols and understand the role of protocol layers in data networks
  • You have developed strong communications skills and communicate professionally via email detailed technical information and instructions
  • You complete written reports in the Maintenance  Management System.  and communicate technical details and safety concerns or  instructions  verbally with other technicians, vendors, students staff and the general public

Compensation

Salary Range:  $$32.78 – $48.76 USD hourly

What You Can Expect

As our Project Manager Senior (PM) working in a self-managed team concept, you will be a part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at Georgetown University. Our projects are located on two local University campuses, and a Hospital. As part of this team you will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $50M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-5 years.

 

This position is being hired in support of a 50-year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the Georgetown University utility system.  The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and domestic water infrastructure.

 

No two days are the same, starting with the development stage  you will be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members, subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving construction challenges through collaboration  and clearing the path and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of success are successful completion of projects with no health, safety or environmental and public relations,  on time and under budget.  You will be managing contracts for both Design and construction of capital projects within the central plants, and managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants  and Operations and maintenance staff.

 

Additional duties include the following:

 

  • Administer design and construction contracts to include the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Work with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify, justify, and prioritize potential projects

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have earned a Bachelor of Science engineering degree (Electrical, Civil or Industrial) or in a relevant area
  • You will have gained a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the successful management of construction or maintenance projects in which you gained experience with managing complex projects to successful completion, such as those involving schools, hospitals, manufacturing or universities
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • You will have gained expertise in developing work packages for execution to include: statement of scope, change management, performance testing, QA/QC Requirements, Parts/Tools, Man-hours, Material Procurement, technical data Sheets, Drawings/Specifications, Task Procedures and job safety plans
  • You will have gained experience creating and giving presentations and professional  communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including your management team, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • You are experienced with managing the financial and contractual aspects of capital projects
  • You will have demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members  and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and the resolution of conflict situations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met

Compensation
