JOUW PROFIEL als meet – en regeltechnieker

  • Je bent technisch geschoold (bachelor/graduaat elektromechanica, elektronica, elektrotechnieken) en hebt bij voorkeur reeds enkele jaren ervaring binnen een industriële omgeving
  • De termen instrumentatie, energieprocessen en controlesturingen zijn voor jou niet onbekend
  • Je spreekt goed Nederlands of bent bereid om dit binnen een termijn van 1 jaar te leren met ondersteuning van ENGIE

Job Purpose/Mission  

The Technical Specialist will report directly to the Technical Team Lead and be an integral part of the Operations team. The primary responsibilities will be to assist with the diagnosis and refurbishment of EEA products

Product Refurbishment

Technical repair and refurbishment of EEA products:

    • Sort and track all items which are returned from the field as Swaps, Voluntary Returns, or Repossessions and which are awaiting refurbishment, as required by Management or Team Lead;
    • Work diligently to meet monthly refurbishment targets as set by the Team Lead;
    • Engage supervisor on any challenges and tools required to be successful in the role; and
    • Other tasks as required by Team Lead, Supervisor or management.

Conduct Product Training with Various Departments:

 

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, both in-person and virtually, to ensure effective understanding and retention of product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and customize training programs accordingly.
  • Continuously evaluate and update training content and methodologies to ensure relevance and effectiveness in line with evolving product features and company goals.

 

Providing Post Training Support:

 

  • Offer ongoing assistance and guidance to Service Centers as they apply acquired product knowledge in their roles.
  • Address and resolve any queries, concerns, or challenges encountered by employees during the implementation phase.
  • Conduct follow-up sessions or refresher courses to reinforce key concepts and address any gaps in understanding.
  • Collect feedback from trainees to assess the impact of training and identify areas for improvement in future training initiatives.

 

Service Center Swap Management:

 

  • Coordinate the logistics and scheduling of swapstock to ensure minimal disruption to operations and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and inventory movements of spare parts in the Service Centers.
  • Collaborate with service center officers and support staff to troubleshoot any issues in the swap process, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime and customer dissatisfaction.
  • Manage the swap rate targets within the set thresholds, and provide training should the targets not be met.

 

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance to the HSE guidelines
  • Ensure zero incidents in regards to staff, storage of inventory, tools and waste

 

Knowledge and skills  

Experience

  • 2 years of experience required in a similar role 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in teams and independently
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills (English)

What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Chillingham Solar Site located near Temple, TX.   

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. 

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites
  • Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor


Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

 

Compensation
