Summary:

 

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Manager is part of the Malaysia business unit and is responsible for technical accuracy and submission of bids for a variety of industry sector opportunities in single or multi utility energy efficiency Projects.

 

As business development manager, you are a hands-on project manager, sparring partner and coach to successfully guide our major and complex offers. You shall take the lead, dare to give your opinion on project management, health & safety, technical & financial matters, and take a flexible approach

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Managing Director, Head of Business Development, and Regional Head of Industrial Development to scale up project development capabilities, for the achievement of ambitious medium-term growth targets, annual revenue and profitability targets
  • Screen and qualify new Public and Non-Public RFIs and RFPs. Analyse the instructions, identify risks and prepare a clear Go/No Go screening as the first step of the Bid Management Process.
  • Lead and manage full spectrum of Business Development process and activities for industrial Energy Efficiency solutions:
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities, directly with internal business teams and through external partners
    • Pre-qualify leads and produce indicative offers within tight timelines
    • Constantly adjusting priorities of opportunities and managing client expectations to ensure efficient use of internal resources and maximise the chance of securing contracts
    • Manage tender and/or firm proposal submissions with internal resources (finance, legal and technical team) and stakeholders (engineering firm, EPC contractor, OEM…) to produce high quality business plans and proposals, meeting challenging client deadlines
    • Manage internal approval processes for project investments
    • Lead contract negotiation with supply chain partners and customers with support from technical, legal and financial teams
    • Secure projects with the targeted profitability and IRR criteria, and hand over to project team for implementation
  • Screen and develop a go to marketplace strategy and a pipeline of projects which can receive the energy efficiency solutions proposed by the company
  • Qualify and prospect new clients (In accordance with the company’s criteria) for directly negotiated energy efficiency and on-site utilities offers
  • Serve as single contact for preparation of technical, commercial and contractual submissions in collaboration with all services required.
  • Manage and coordinate proposals each day, including technical aspects, from issue of calls for tender documents to bid submission.
  • Manage bid logistics, develop the schedule for the team and setting responsibilities/ expectations for the bid – who does what and when.
  • Manage and seek the necessary approvals for bid submissions
  • Prepare, modify, amend and justify financial model and its inputs for the proposals as necessary
  • Draw on ENGIE’s expertise, skills and resources to develop winning strategies for preparing bids aligned with ENGIE’s “zero-carbon” motto. Due to the complexity of Energy Efficiency, and On-site Utilities projects, you will ensure the technical solutions is optimised and new technology and solutions (digital, start-ups, technology breakthrough) are considered in the offers developed.
  • Coordinate and participate in drafting documents for a comprehensive response to RFI/RFQ/RFP. Ensure the quality and compliance of proposals within the stipulated deadline.
  • Convene and facilitate start-up, coordination and approval meetings, taking responsibility for communications among all parties involved.
  • Provide liaison and gather necessary information from all internal and external parties involved (technical, commercial, HR, finance, purchasing, legal services, partners, etc.).
  • Manage proposal costs and deadlines.
  • Work in close cooperation with financial department to optimise the commercial offer (owner of the inputs of the valuation model and risk analysis)
  • Master Technical / Commercial project presentation to the client with the support of the relevant teams.
  • Improve the tools developed, to increase the quality of submission documents and ensure compliance with standards, guidelines and ENGIE’s brand image.
  • Monitor the performance of business development activities for industrial Energy Efficiency solutions:
    • Participate in regular project review and reporting process

 

Job Skills/knowledge requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in project development, and/or project based sales or commercial role.
  • Able to work autonomously and do what is necessary to get things done
  • Team player and able to work on multiple and complex bids

Misión: La misión del Business Development Magager en el área de Estrategia y BD Performance es la de apoyar en la implementación de la estrategia de Renovables en BD, seguimiento analítico de costes de los proyectos en la desarrollo, participar en la creación de nuevas de proyectos renovables y apoyar en proyectos clave para la empresa.

 

Funciones

  • Participar en la originación del pipe de proyectos de RES, así como en el desarrollo de los mismos, desde la búsqueda de oportunidades (licitaciones en Subastas Energía, procesos de M&A o búsqueda de proyectos…), hasta el desarrollo greenfield: búsqueda de emplazamientos y análisis prefactibilidad de proyectos y obtención de PLA (Permisos, Licencias y Autorizaciones).
  • Tramitación de los permisos de acceso y conexión obteniéndolos por concursos de capacidad o prelación.
  • Seguimiento y análisis de las capacidades libres de REE y distribuidoras.
  • Apoyo en la elaboración, seguimiento y control del presupuesto para desarrollar el proyecto.
  • Seguimiento analítico de costes, estructuración y procesos del área de desarrollo de renovables.
  • Contacto permanente con proyectos a terceros greenfield. Negociación de contratos.
  • Soporte en la generación de documentación y presentación en los diferentes comités internos de desarrollo

 

Requisitos mínimos

Experiencia de 3-4 años en el área y 1-2 años en el sector de renovables.

  • Tramitación de solicitud de acceso y conexión para la evacuación de energía renovable a la red.
  • Tramitación/Permitting (proyecto administrativo, autorizaciones ambientales o de construcción, licencias municipales, etc.)
  • Procesos de negociación de contratos de co-desarrollo
  • Experiencia previa en control de costes y seguimiento de presupuestos.

Role Summary

We are seeking for a Marketing Communications Manager who will be responsible for the internal and external design, implementation, and management of a range of online, offline, and traditional communication strategies and events of the local ENGIE business unit and joint-venture entities. Key Responsibilities

  • Create a marketing and corporate communications plan for internal and external stakeholders by collaborating with management, business development team and other department heads to fully understand the communication needs. Lead the end-to-end process.
  • Create and manage budget for this purpose.
  • Determine the most effective communications technique and platform for internal and external campaigns which may include social and online media, print, audio-visual, webinars, events and conventions, etc.
  • Create and produce press releases, articles, copywrite, campaigns, bulletins, social media/online messages and other communications as required and route for approval. Lay out, print and distribute if required.
  • Write draft speeches for senior management and assist with finalizing speeches.
  • Evaluate success of campaigns when completed.
  • Liaise with HQ Regional Management Office (RMO) based in Singapore or worldwide counterparts to leverage support, collaboration, knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Know the events relevant to the business and cascade the information to management in a timely manner. Attend events as company representative or to gather marketing intelligence.
  • Cascade the business vision, mission, and directions to all employees, partners, vendors and other key stakeholders by creating an effective campaign with a cohesive look and thematic agenda.
  • Seed press releases.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • Three to five years of related experience writing and editing projects; portfolio of relevant previous projects highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that may include speech writing, public speaking, pitching and presentations.
  • Has sufficient skills in strategic corporate communications planning and creative communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Good at research and data validation.

Purpose of the Job

 

The Senior Business Developer responsibility is to identify, evaluate, develop and deliver business opportunities, through structured deals, which fit EPWME strategic objectives, financial criteria and risk allocation.

These business development opportunities will primarily be focused on activities in the region related to flexible power generation (Gas fired plant, BESS, Sea Water Desalination, H2) arising through:

  • Greenfield development (either bids or bilateral transactions);
  • Acquisitions;
  • Brownfield development;

Key Accountabilities

•            Identify, evaluate, develop and execute new business development opportunities for EPWME

•            Conduct assessment of a project to assess its technical, legal and financial viability.

•            Ensure that projects presented to investment committees are being developed according to the highest standards and processes in place

•            Prepare, monitor, analyze and approve projects’ budgets, expenses as well as provides accommodating follow-up reports

•            Lead cross-functional teams (AI&FA, ETSG, Legal, HSE, Procurement, Tax, Insurance and CSR) )consisting of development and other business functions to launch and advance new project opportunities

•            Liaise with all internal functions, including legal, engineering and construction, commercial, and operations from project inception into operation; in particular coordinate with teams to effectively define, implement and work to priorities between and across project development and project execution activities

•            Lead negotiations of all project agreements (JDA, SHA, PPA and/or WPA, EPC and supply contracts, Finance Documentation, etc.);

•            Lead negotiations with clients, partners, contractors, external advisors, lenders, and other counterparts;

•            Develop a plan which meets both short and long term financial objectives,  identify development priorities and potential asset rotation opportunities to create additional value for EPWME

•            Perform look-back evaluations on past projects in accordance with group guidelines

•            ‘Program manage’ multiple initiatives
