TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING B.V. (TE BV) is the Dutch affiliate of TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING, ENGIE Group.
The main mission of TE BV is to establish, and facilitate the development and the commercialization of the engineering services both in Nuclear and outside Nuclear in the Netherlands. The engineering services in the nuclear sector are expected to cover Nuclear New Build Projects, Medical applications, Small and Modular Reactors (SMR) and other nuclear applications.
We are looking for a Managing Director (m/f) with strong and impressive track record in managing a technical consulting and engineering business, ideally within nuclear sector, and with leadership experience from a consultancy/engineering company, utility, EPC contractor or manufacturer combined with a strong relevant network.
Your new potential challenge is to lead Tractebel’s expanding subsidiary in Netherlands.
Your function
As Managing Director of the Tractebel Engineering SA Dutch Subsidiary, you represent the entity vis-à-vis third parties, including but not limited to clients, local authorities, and local stakeholders and counterparties.
The Managing Director is responsible to manage the overall day-to-day operations and resources of the Subsidiary, and reports to acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors or other governance body as applicable. He/she ensures that the Subsidiary implements, respects, follows and complies with all Group policies and procedures and applicable local requirements.
He has also the overall responsibility for TE BV Profit & Loss covering business development and project execution. This includes effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision making.
In your function of Managing Director you:
- Define the short-term, medium-term and long-term strategy for business grow and elaborate the business plan of TE BV;
- Are responsible for the implementation of the strategic objectives of TE BV, being selective and performance-oriented in all decisions taken;
- Based on the strategy of TE BV approved by the Board of Directors, you detail the operational plan and ensure its implementation;
- Participate in the business development and sales activity of TE BV, in collaboration with the Business Development and Sales Department;
- Are responsible for the performance to reach the targets (production, net result, performance indicators, QHSE, E&C) with a close follow-up of the SGA;
- Oversee the elaboration / development of the activity in projects, compare the achievements with the initial estimates and propose / take the appropriate corrective measures, if necessary;
- Buildup, develop and strengthen the local engineering and consulting team with competence and resources to fulfil the strategic targets;
- Ensure the management of human resources, adapting and scheduling the human resources necessary for the realization of the projects;
- Support the continuous development of technical skills and knowledge of the staff, in order to adapt to market requirements;
- Ensure overall Quality, Health & Safety and Environment aspects involved in the business activities;
- Ensure and develop the collaboration with other entities of Tractebel, either through the selected Design Centers, or on a commercial basis;
- Represent the organization in the local community, the state, and at the national level
- Participate in industry-related events or associations that will enhance the Tractebel's reputation and potential for success.
You will play an important role in achieving our ambition to boost the development of TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING B.V. in the Netherlands and abroad.
Your profile
- Master’s degree from an accredited engineering and/or business university
- Your native language is Dutch and you have an excellent command of English. Knowledge of French is a plus
- Minimum 15 years professional experience in engineering / consulting preferably in nuclear sector with at least 5 years in role with P&L or comparable responsibility preferably in general management;
- Technical background in the field of nuclear and/or industrial projects that allows you to work on complex projects
- Proven experience in the development of large business opportunities and in complex sales
- Proven experience in large industrial project management, contract management and claim management
- Entrepreneurial experience or willingness to take a true growth challenge
- You are well introduced in the local market and have a relevant external network within the industry and have experience negotiating with external stakeholders (lobbying, regulatory, …)
- Proven ability to develop, manage and guide people within a cross-functional, international organization coupled with presence, assertiveness and strength of personality
- Credibility and leadership evidenced by the ability to rapidly generate a high degree of respect and trust from the various stakeholders
- You are good at listening to customers and anticipate their needs
- You have strategic thinking and negotiating skills
- You are a natural communicator (both oral and written) and are able to explain complex topics in understandable language to your different stakeholders
- You have the sense of priority. You are good at planning simultaneous assignments and you are a good organizer, even in unexpected circumstances
