Job Purpose:

 The Data Center Facilities Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, Generators and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.

This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third party vendors.

They are expected to be a single focal point for all facility operations within a given data center.

The Technician should be able to support the DC-operations for delivering 99.999% uptime.

This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems like BMS, DCIM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and Daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s (UPS, LV Panels, Switchgears, Busway systems, BMS, DCIM, Controllers, ELV Systems) and Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility electrical, and ELV systems.
  • Maintain, operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, building management system.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Supervisor assigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken;
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Should be able to comply with HSE norms and understand the PTW process.
  • Should be able to working in shifts (24X7).
  • Should be able to drive the operational requirements with minimum supervision and guidance.
  • Should understand the criticality of business uptime to serve the Data center facility operations.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
  • Attend training sessions and seminars.

Skills Required:

 

  • Good knowledge of power systems (UPS's, Control Panels, DB’s, Busway systems, Generators)
  • Basic knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, Chillers, Fire and safety, BMS, ELV Systems)
  • Working knowledge of UPS systems and associated switch gear and Distribution Panels
  • Working knowledge of standby generator systems and associated switch gear.
  • Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment’s and components.

Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and Daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s and keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of HVAC (DDC, BMS, Control system), Plumbing & ELV equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility Mechanical systems.
  • Maintain, operate all Mechanical/HVAC related systems and associated equipment, Mechanical equipment, building management system.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Engineer assigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Mechanical systems, ELV system, HVAC system, and other trade related systems.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
  • Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
  • Attend training sessions and seminars.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.

Skills Required:

 

  • Good knowledge of Mechanical systems (Generators, Chillers, Pumps, Motors, Bearings)
  • Good knowledge of cooling systems (HVAC, Chillers, VRV, FAHU, IRU, FWU)
  • Good Knowledge of ELV Systems (DDC, BMS, Control system)
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical systems and associated tools and equipment’s.
  • Skill in installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of Mechanical system equipment’s and components.

  • Basic Working Knowledge of PC systems, and CAFM Mobile Apps

Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma Degree or ITI (with minimum 5+ Yrs Experience)
  • 1–2-year Experience in Data Center Facilities Management Field.
  • 3+ year Total Experience in HVAC field in Facility Management.           

Other Requirements:

  • Data Center Certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Certified Welder will be an added advantage.

What You Can Expect

As our Utility Person 1, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), you will be responsible for performing general cleaning duties including but not limited to:

  • storage areas
  • office areas
  • stairways
  • locker rooms
  • lunchrooms
  • bathrooms
  • plant laboratory
  • instrument shops, soundproof booths, control rooms and other areas of the plant as directed

 

You will be reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience in an industrial facility
  • You have knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology
  • You must perform cleaning of plant offices, storage areas, locker rooms, stairways, satellite facilities, and other areas as required
  • You will clean and dust furniture and fixtures, wash walls and windows in plant and office areas
  • You will clean interior plant critical operating equipment and walks
  • You will paint building and associated equipment
  • You will assist uniform vendor in the collection and distribution of uniforms, wipers, and runners
  • You must maintain the plant’s exterior and walks, including grounds keeping, window cleaning, trash collection and removal, sweeping of walks and passageways, and snow removal from walkways and driveways
  • You must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws
  • You must participate in mandatory training, and other programs
  • Must participate in emergency response team
  • You will perform other maintenance related duties as required

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Working Shift: Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday; Day Shift; 6:00am to 2:30pm
  • May be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends) and/or other, as needed
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs.
  • Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

 

 

Compensation

Hourly:  $28.14 USD hourly

 

Your position is part of a bargaining unit represented by International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 877. Many of the terms and conditions of your employment, including but not limited to work scheduling, wages, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits, will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement (the “CBA”) between the Company and the union. 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

¿Cuál sería tu objetivo?

Ejecutar el mantenimiento preventivo o correctivo de Equipos Primarios y de servicios auxiliares, pertenecientes al sistema eléctrico de potencia de ENGIE o de sus clientes, con el fin de dar cumplimiento al programa de mantenimiento, resguardando el funcionamiento de los equipos y, en caso de falla, realizar la normalización de las instalaciones, garantizando la vida útil de los activos, respetando los estándares de calidad, la seguridad a las personas y el medio ambiente, conforme a lo establecido en el Sistema de Gestión.

 

Funciones:

  • Ejecutar el plan de mantenimiento asociado a los Equipos Primarios y de servicios auxiliares en subestaciones eléctricas de ENGIE y sus clientes, aplicando las tareas del mantenimiento predictivo, preventivo y correctivo, basado en los estándares de calidad, medio ambiente y seguridad de la compañía, para asegurar la correcta operación de los equipos bajo su responsabilidad, evitar fallas y garantizar la vida útil de los activos.
  • Confeccionar y tramitar los permisos de trabajo, preparar los informes de notificación diaria, informes de trabajos ejecutados y otros requeridos por su jefatura, que se generan del mantenimiento asociado al Sistema Eléctrico de ENGIE y sus clientes, aplicando los procedimientos y estándares de la compañía, con la finalidad de dar cumplimiento a la normativa vigente, supervisando y evidenciando el estado actual de los activos bajo su responsabilidad, con el fin de minimizar fallas.
  • Registrar y verificar en primera instancia la información obtenida de las pruebas eléctricas a Equipos Primarios y servicios auxiliares en las distintas instalaciones de ENGIE y sus clientes, con el fin de asegurar la identificación de las desviaciones existentes que pongan en riesgo a las personas o equipos, en base a la utilización de instrumentos de medida y equipos de pruebas, minimizando fallas y velando por la operación de las instalaciones.
  • Ejecutar las tareas administrativas asociadas a la gestión documental del área en las plataformas SAP y Sharepoint, para consignar el resultado del mantenimiento, los procedimientos, la revisión de ingenierías, planos y proyectos del área de Equipos Primarios asociado a las instalaciones de ENGIE y sus Clientes, con la finalidad de dar cumplimiento a lo establecido en el Sistema de Gestión +Simple de la Compañía.
  • Ejecutar la tarea de Inspector Jefe (supervisión) en trabajos propios o de empresas colaboradoras y proyectos especiales en Instalaciones de ENGIE o de sus clientes, con el fin de asegurar el cumplimiento de estándares de control de acceso, de SSO y procedimientos de trabajo, cumpliendo con la normativa vigente, resguardando la salud de las personas y la seguridad de las instalaciones de la compañía y de sus clientes.
  • Brindar apoyo a otras áreas de mantenimiento al interior de la compañía, con el fin de lograr la satisfacción de sus necesidades o requerimientos.
  • Apoyar en la ejecución de maniobras en subestaciones eléctricas de ENGIE o de clientes, solicitadas por el jefe de operaciones o desde el Operador del Centro de Control, con el fin de lograr el cumplimiento de las actividades, de acuerdo los estándares de calidad, seguridad y plazos definidos.

 

Requisitos del cargo:

  • Formación académica: Cuarto medio liceo politécnico o industrial (especialidad eléctrica), técnico eléctrico nivel superior.
  • Manejo de Mantenimiento de instalaciones eléctricas de Alta y Media Tensión.
  • Manejo de Normas y estándares de mantenimiento eléctrico (ANSI-IEEE)
  • Conocimiento en lectura e interpretación de planos afines.
  • Conocimiento de software asociados al área (CABA WIN, PowerDb, CTC Analycer, CPC-Omicron, FLIR, AutoCad).
  • Conocimientos de Sistemas Eléctricos de Potencia y su operación.
  • Licencia de conducir clase B-A4.
  • Manejo de Técnicas Predictivas.
  • Inglés nivel básico
  • Experiencia mínima de 3 años en el área de Mantenimiento Equipos primarios.
  • Experiencia total mayor 4 años en el sector de la energía, deseable en las áreas de mantenimiento de transmisión eléctrica.
