Key activities and competencies

For the construction of PV plants in the region, ENGIE is looking for an Engineering Manager PV to manage all technical and engineering related matters to ensure successful project execution and delivery of utility scale solar projects in the Middle East. The Engineering Manager PV will follow-up and coordinate all basic and detail design review activities on behalf of the owner during construction of the utility scale PV plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and managing with the Owner’s Engineer (OE), EPC Contractor, project company and O&M team the basic and detailed design review process for the assigned PV project.
  • To act as an Engineering Manager for PV projects, in coordination with construction management team and providing in-depth technical knowledge in PV technology to the project company and using that knowledge to implement engineering during design & execution stage.
  • Develop and implement engineering best practices, standards, and procedures to ensure project quality and efficiency.
  • Leads and manages the review of the EPC Contractors’ documents and designs for compliance with the Project requirements
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and subcontractors on delivery of the design documentation to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Coordinate with the Owners Engineer on timely review of the design documentation as provided by the EPC Contractor.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes to ensure timely completion of the review of all design documentation including coordination of the document management system.
  • Identify optimizations for the solar PV systems, including sizing, layout, and equipment selection.
  • Monitor design progress, identify and resolve technical challenges, and manage project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a risk register and effective mitigation plans for potential risks to the engineering phase of the Project
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as the focal point for all design and engineering related queries from the EPC Contractor.
  • Ensuring only documents and drawings issued for construction are used and followed on site.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Min. 10 years of experience in the solar PV industry, with a strong focus on engineering design and project management.
  • Proven experience managing and coordinating engineering teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in solar PV systems, including components, design, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in the Middle East region.
  • Experience working with Transco for substation and ESF design approval
  • Expertise to deal with Chinese EPC player for large solar projects are a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic or Chinese language skills are a plus.

  • Provide internal engineering support to Development & Pre-Construction groups, and assist with procurement processes for long lead materials
  • Stay updated on new technologies, regulatory conditions, and industry best practices, with up to 20% travel for site assessments and construction meetings and activities

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field of study
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience and proven knowledge in high voltage (138kV and above) electrical substation engineering and design field is required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI) and FERC and NERC requirements for electric substation reliability
  • Extensive knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals and three phase power systems
  • Proficiency in engineering application software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit studies
  • Experience in protective relay coordination and settings for HV and EHV transmission systems and familiarity with Schweitzer and General Electric relay and communication equipment
  • Knowledge of transmission line protection schemes (step-distance, POTT, DCB, DUTT) and electrical systems analysis software (ASPEN, ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, and PSLF)
  • Must be able to communicate complex technical subject matter information to a wide range of audiences verbally and in written communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills

About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Engineer – Development to join our UK Renewables team. In this role, you will support the development and construction of onshore wind and solar projects in the UK and Ireland. You will be responsible for screening development sites, providing inputs to financial modelling, early-stage site design, procuring site studies, and managing engineering input for projects.

  • Commercial awareness of the impact of losses, CAPEX, and OPEX on overall project economics.
  • Experience in project management and operating as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Experience in load flows for solar and design of electrical infrastructure for wind farms.
  • Experience in design of BESS and network calculation studies.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and IT architecture for operational technology.

  • Determinación de activación de retenes, asistencia On Line a contratas activadas y en último lugar definir la posibilidad de dejar la instalación en o fuera de servicio.
  • Solicitud de ofertas a contratas y pedido a los gestores de compras para resolver los posibles correctivos necesarios, así como su recepción y aprobación una vez acabados los trabajos si aplicase.
  • Gestión y actualización documental de recursos compartidos en red necesarios para el seguimiento de los alcances del departamento.
  • Transmisión de planes de conocimiento preventivo a contratas y realización de reuniones de CAE en sitio.
  • Actuar como parte activa de todo el proceso de mejora continua en todas las fases del proceso (análisis, definición, implementación, seguimiento...) y ser facilitador en la transformación del comportamiento para la búsqueda de la mejora continua.
  • Asegurar la implementación y cumplimiento de las Políticas de Seguridad e Higiene, Diversidad, Ciberseguridad, Medio Ambiente, Sostenibilidad, Ética y Compliance, así como de los procedimientos y procesos definidos en la organización.

 

Requisitos mínimos

  • FP Electricidad industrial / automatización.
  • PRL Básico 60 hrs
  • Experiencia coordinando actividades mantenimiento en parques eólicos (5 años).
  • Reparación averías en aerogeneradores (5 años).
  • Mantenimiento parques eólicos (5 años).
  • Disponibilidad para viajar.

Actualmente, para nuestros activos en Zaragoza, buscamos un Coordinador cuya  misión será: Supervisar y coordinar las tareas en los parques eólicos gestiona por ENGIE RENOVABLES ESPAÑA.

 

Funciones:

  • Planificación anual de preventivos, predictivos e inspecciones periódicas reglamentarias de las instalaciones.
  • Supervisión de trabajos de mantenimiento correctivo/preventivo/predictivo in situ según necesidad.
  • Recepción y aprobación de informes a contratas, revisión de estos y gestión de corrección de incidencias identificadas en estos.
  • Coordinación de inspecciones periódicas reglamentarias, recepción de certificados de inspecciones reglamentarias, análisis de resultados y subsanación de deficiencias.
  • Recepción de incidencias en instalaciones mantenidas desde diferentes fuentes.
