What You Can Expect

As the on-site Wind Technician II, at the Limestone Wind Site in Dawson, TX, you will operate and maintain the site by optimizing wind generation availability and performance through established procedures with the highest regard for health, safety and environment compliance. Adaptability is crucial as tasks may vary depending on operational needs and requirements. Your primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting, repairing, reconnecting, and inspecting electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.  At this site you will be working with high voltage energized equipment and must follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) grounding and other safety precautions. Collaborating with service providers and contractors, you will oversee daily work activities, produce various reports, operate site equipment, and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments. 

 

Ensuring compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards, you'll conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment. You'll actively participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment. Alongside routine inspections and serving as the main contact for landowners, you'll manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site. Gaining and maintaining GWO training is required, as well as participating in turbine climbing activities. You'll provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures. You will work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.  From time to time you will be required to support other wind assets during planned outages and emergencies, potentially requiring overnight stays. Furthermore, you'll be part of an on-call rotation and must reside within 50 miles of the site to respond promptly to outages and emergencies.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Wind generation, Power Plant, or Substation Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant

Compensation

Salary Range:  $27.00 - $43.51 USD hourly

MECHANICAL ENGINEER: ENGIE Kathu Operations (Internal/External)Permanent Position

 

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Develop short and long term mechanical maintenance strategy for the plant and the development of a capable engineering, planning and mechanical maintenance team to support that strategy.
  • Manage day to day plant mechanical maintenance activities efficiently, according to good utility practice, company rules and procedures, legal, contractual and other requirements.
  • Implement mechanical maintenance practices and strategy in accordance with O&M and  international standards with life cycle management for all major plant systems.
  • Responsible for the facility QA/QC, Root Cause Analysis Program.
  • Administer the Preventive / Predictive / Corrective mechanical Maintenance Programs through a computerized management program.
  • Establish the appropriate procedures and computerized mechanical maintenance management processes as applicable to a prudent management regime.
  • Determine and schedule manpower, tools and spares requirements for each mechanical maintenance activity.
  • Review Maintenance strategy (PMs, PDMs) on yearly basis to be in line with plant demands and ensure the strategy covers the entire plant
  • Perform plant Life Cycle Cost to establish cost estimate for maintenance
  • Compile quality Control Documents for all critical equipment, component or plant
  • Keep track of Solar Field Maintenance activities, and support maintenance functions to achieve set OM related solar field parameters (cleanliness; availability and performance);
  • Manage tools, spares and consumables inventory efficiently while controlling the risks to the business;
  • Assists in establishing the equipment master data and business processes;
  • Respect the O&M agreement with the Owner and other contractual obligations;
  • Ensure the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation, and cost targets while complying with safety, environmental, legal, and contractual requirements.
  • Adherence to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards;
  • Organize risk analysis for the mechanical maintenance tasks;
  • Coordinate all mechanical maintenance activities with finance and accounting, administration, HSE and operation departments;

  • Ensure the completion of shift round checklists, routine daily/weekly/monthly test checklists and equipment change-over checklists, etc.
  • Submits the necessary reports and recommendations to the Operations Manager concerning equipment/plant status and/or any problems.
  • Responsible for the generation and sending the Plant’s daily data requirements in a timely manner to all applicable parties.
  • Maintain high standards of management, ethics and leadership at all times.

 

Qualifications:

  • An accredited Mechanical Engineering  BTech or Degree.
  • Registration as Professional Engineer an added advantage
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) will be added as an advantage.
  • Demonstrated competence at engineering level supported by relevant education and training

 

Experience:

  • At least 6-8 year experience in the maintenance of a large power plant, 3 of which should preferably be in the capacity of Mechanical Engineer
  • Leading and managing people
  • Use of safe systems of work
  • Use of computerized management system
  • Engineering concepts, Standards and principles
  • Interaction with purchasing, finance and accounting, maintenance, administration
  • Budget control and reporting

 

Skills:

  • Good command of oral and written English is an advantage.
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in emergency situations;
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates skills in the use of tools.

  • Fully familiar with Work Permit System.
  • Ability to perform First Aid and CPR.

 

Language:

  • English Language: excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Any other African language is an advantage.

IT:

As the Operations Manager for this 270 MW power plant situated in Iraan, TX you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising two technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.

 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.

  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. About the Role

The job holder will be responsible for supporting the commercial optimisations of development projects.

 

This is a Hybrid role assigned to our London office where the successful candidate would be based two days a week.

Summary of key responsibilities

  • Identifying new business opportunities , securing the land rights and establishing the strategy for delivering value from the site , including commercial , planning , community and technical strategies .
  • Assess and advise on markets and technologies to ensure that the next generation of sites are targeted at strong market opportunities .
  • Management of all relationship with and contractual obligations with landowners and manage all land aspects through design, planning, financial close and construction phase

 

 

Knowledge and skills:

  • Conversant with Route-to-Market optionality’s, including CFDs, corporate PPAs for an renewable projects
  • Detailed understanding of UK electricity sector and regulations
  • Ability of optimise costs , both capital and O&M
  • Good understanding of the  sector landscape  and relevant stakeholders like off takers , contractors etc
  • Good understanding of land acquisition, grid connection and planning consent process /principles 
  • Understanding of EPC contracting structures and tendering processes
  • Intimate knowledge of capital costs and O&M costs linked to PV /onshore wind and batteries
  • Conversant with investment principles linked to renewable projects
  • Conversant with project financing principles
  • Financial modelling experience is desirable, not mandatory
  • Ability to proactively work to deadlines on multiple projects concurrently
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of power-point, excel, and MS Project

 

Experience/Qualifications

  • Prior experience of having developed renewable projects in UK with specific experience of:
    • Identifying / acquiring land
    • Achieving grid connection
    • Obtaining planning consents
    • Originating corporate  PPAs
    • Participating in CFD auctions
  • Degree qualified with relevant professional body qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • UK Drivers Licence and ability to travel nationally

Missão

A pessoa selecionada será responsável por:

  • Coordenar e assistir operacionalmente a equipa da área de Telecomando em assessoria do responsável da área;
  • Colaborar com as equipas técnicas de Engenharia e da área de Operação e Manutenção no desenvolvimento de projetos, na monitorização e análise do desempenho dos ativos de produção;
  • Colaborar com as equipas de Business Development e de Trading, na análise de resultados de mercado e de serviços de sistema;
  • Garantir, num contexto de equipa dedicada e especializada na condução remota de centrais de produção renovável com especial relevo nas grandes hídricas, a definição de requisitos para desenvolvimento, melhoria e manutenção de ferramentas operacionais, de desenvolvimento de negócio e de dashboarding, procurando automatização e melhoria de processos, análise e de reporte.
  • Assistência operacional da equipa, na operação quando necessário, tomada de decisão e comunicação com entidades externas e internas;
  • Monitorização do desempenho técnico dos ativos de produção (indicadores de performance e de monitorização técnica e elaboração de relatórios de exploração), numa lógica de melhoria contínua da performance operativa;
  • Análise e seguimento proativo de ocorrências e incidentes de exploração, numa perspetiva de erradicação do modo de falha ou do risco de recorrência;
  • Análise e seguimento proativo de variáveis críticas com identificação de desvios de funcionamento ou de resultado;
  • Colaboração no desenvolvimento e melhoria contínua das ferramentas de gestão analítica das explorações;
  • Colaborar proactivamente no desenvolvimento dos algoritmos a implementar no Centro de Telecomando e no sistema de análise de Informação para cálculo de grandezas de exploração.

 

 

 

Quem procuramos

  • Mestrado em Engenharia Eletrotécnica
  • Experiência de sistemas de geração, transmissão e distribuição de energia, bem como de sistemas de telecomando e ferramentas associadas, designadamente as correlacionadas com operação remota de ativos (SCADA, RTU), de controlo e proteção e outros atinentes com a referida atividade.
  • Experiência e/ou conhecimento em mercados de energia e serviços de sistema (preferencial)
  • Experiência e/ou conhecimentos de operação de telecomando de centrais de produção energia renovável , incluindo os fatores de eficiência e eficácia económica e ambiental das explorações (preferencial).
  • Experiência e/ou conhecimentos de sistemas e ferramentas de comunicação industrial (MODBUS, IEC 60870-5-104, entre outras) (preferencial)

What You Can Expect

As the Engineering Advisor for Transmission and Interconnection, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pre-construction development, engineering, and energy market activities for ENGIE North America’s (ENA) portfolio of utility-scale renewable assets across the United States. You will be an integral part of the Transmission and Interconnection team, contributing to renewable development efforts with a specific focus on grid interconnection and other facets of renewable energy development. Your work will be crucial in helping the company achieve its renewable energy goals and growth strategy within North America.

 

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

 

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Utilize your subject matter expertise in transmission and interconnection planning, power system modeling, and analysis within Independent System Operators (ISO) or specific utilities, primarily PJM
  • Project Management: Manage and track project interconnection requests with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO) and utilities, maintaining schedules and project databases of interconnection progress
  • Interconnection Applications: Prepare Interconnection Application packages, perform power system modeling/planning studies, study report reviews, and other tasks associated with the queue positions
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with consultants and internal staff for engineering support of project interconnection requests, and engage utilities in negotiation of interconnection agreements, project scheduling, and interconnection site acquisition activities
  • Industry Engagement: Stay abreast of new project interconnection requirements, industry developments, technologies, and embody the company in industry advocacy groups. Remain well-informed of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of Renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Sciences or Engineering  

  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in renewable energy, ISO, Transmission Owner (TO), or developer experience
  • Proficiency in Power Systems, Power Grid, and Power System Analysis tools
  • Results oriented with demonstrated ability to work constructively and independently within a large matrixed organization, maintaining effective relationships with Regional Transmission Organizations, other external parties, and cross-functional employee groups
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task, prioritize critical path tasks, detail oriented, and work proactively to pursue required information
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
