What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator III (UPO III) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes turbine generators, boilers, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, and mobile equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO III involves the safe operation of the plant's turbines. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring pressures, checking for leaks or abnormalities, and starting and stopping turbines as needed. Additional responsibilities include monitoring pressure reducing valves, completing logs at the end of the shift, and performing weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts. We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, production support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO III may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment such as the Hospital boiler and West Campus boiler.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends. Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Four (4) years of experience in which you gained expertise operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors, or similar equipment in an industrial, process plant, or ship or shore-based power plant setting
  • Two (2) years of experience operating solid fuel and/or gas/oil-fired water tube boilers, turbine generators, and related plant equipment

 

Additional Details

  • Daily attendance at the worksite is required
  • Must comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record, as operation of company vehicles is required
  • Must be physically capable of hearing and understanding audible alarms, detecting changes in noise levels, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Capable of performing various physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Must have corrected eyesight at 20/40 to accurately read instruments, gauges, and manuals
  • Physically capable of entering and working in confined spaces and wearing PPE, including half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, and safety shoes
  • Working environment: 90% indoors, with exposure to weather conditions, heat, dust, and moderate to high noise levels prevalent at the power plant

 

Compensation:

Salary Range:  $30.00 – $43.51 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Ce vei face:

 

  • Vei executa lucrări privind verificările tehnice în utilizare la aparatele de încălzit alimentate cu combustibil gazos, cazane de apă caldă cu putere P < 400 kW și cazane de abur de joasă presiune cu debit Q ≤ 0,6 t/h și Pmax abur ≤ 0,5 bari;
  • Vei întocmi documentația în urma verificării în conformitate cu prescripțiile tehnice ISCIR, în măsura competențelor obținute;
  • Vei executa lucrări de verificări și revizii tehnice și reparații defecte la instalațiile de utilizare gaze naturale;
  • Vei întocmi devize pentru lucrările de reparație, modernizare, înlocuire la instalațiile de utilizare a gazelor naturale și aparate de consum gaze naturale, în scopul contractării acestora de către client;
  • Vei controla în teren și vei verifica instalația în funcționare după execuția operațiunilor de instalare, montaj, reparații și revizii, efectuate de personalul de specialitate, la aparatele de încălzit alimentate cu combustibil gazos, cazane de apă caldă cu putere P ≤ 400 kW și cazane de abur de joasă presiune cu debit Q ≤ 0,6 t/h și Pmax abur ≤ 0,5 bari, a arzătoarelor cu combustibili gazoși;
  • Vei promova și încheia contracte de prestări servicii de verificări și revizii tehnice la instalațiile de utilizare gaze naturale și la centralele termice.

 

Experiență, calificări, cunoștințe și abilități:

 

  • Studii superioare tehnice finalizate cu diplomă de licență;
  • Atestat ISCIR - RVT - Responsabil cu verificarea tehnică;
  • Autorizație ANRE - gradele EGD și EGIU, în termen de valabilitate;
  • Minimum 2 ani experiență în domeniul gazelor naturale; 
  • Cunoștințe de bază în utilizarea echipamentelor digitale;
  • Determinare și responsabilitate;
  • Abilități de comunicare verbală și scrisă;
  • Gândire tehnică;
  • Capacitatea de a lucra în echipă;
  • Permis auto categoria B.

Your mission

It will be your responsibility to take the lead for one of our major marine infrastructure projects. As a Lead Engineer you:

  • Are the main point of contact between the client and your team and you work together with external partners (such as our partner in the joint venture, other design and engineering consultancies, subcontractors, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) in a constructive way.
  • Are responsible for the follow-up of progress, quality, and financial performance of the project executed by your team. You ensure systematic follow-up of the project, by watching over customer satisfaction and foreseeing deteriorations in financial performance
  • Take a role as principal engineer of the project and coordinate and coach our junior engineers and CAD designers
  • Prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine structures such as Port & Waterways development studies: Port Master planning, locks, quay walls, jetties, bridge foundations, flooding areas, dikes, breakwaters and perform analyses to find the optimum installation method of these structures; always with an open mind for innovative and alternative solutions
  • Dimension marine infrastructure projects following current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines
  • Enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved and you take the project from concept design through to completion
  • Are the main liaison officer between the different competence centres in Tractebel and our partner in the joint venture for water infrastructure, road infrastructure, spatial design, mobility and equipment. You coordinate with the marine engineering design by the Ports and Waterways team
  • Ensure knowledge development and sharing related to your expertise and coach junior engineers

 

 

Your profile

  • You are a qualified Master of Science in Structural Engineering with a Major in 'Dredging and Off-shore Engineering" or "Construction Design" or "Marine Engineering"
  • You have at least 8 years of relevant technical design experience 
  • You have experience in applying the relevant design codes and guidelines for the structural design and soil-structure interaction of marine infrastructure such as port infrastructure, quay walls, sheet piles, anchors, combi walls, ...
  • You have experience in designing concrete reinforcement in complex 3D structures 
  • A thorough knowledge of English is essential and good knowledge of Dutch/French is an important asset
  • You have extensive knowledge of current Belgian and European Design Standards, legislation, codes of practice (EC2, EC7, NEN, EAU, SB250, SB260, ISO, ...) 
  • You have experience in financial reporting and contract management for public tenders 
  • Expertise in modelling with SCIA engineering, Plaxis and/or GeoStudio or Dsheet is an important asset

Mission

  • You issue/collaborate to the quality insurance plan related to your field of expertise.
  • You establish design principles for installations/equipment/structures.
  • You collaborate with the Owner and with other designers in developing the project design.
  • You guarantee proper dimensioning of the installations/equipment/structures.
  • You control and monitor the creation and progress of any graphic materials and any measurement overviews.

  • You provide bills of quantities and cost estimates for the works under consideration.

Profile

  • You have a Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in Electrical Design;
  • You have been involved in all engineering and design aspects and phases of projects: design, engineering, modelling, tender, execution;
  • You have a good understanding of electrical installations: medium voltage / low voltage / very low voltage;
  • You have a good knowledge of low voltage systems: electrical cabinets / earthing / (emergency)lighting / security supply (UPS/generators) / lightning protection /  cabling, selectivity, voltage drop, etc
  • You have a good knowledge of very low voltage systems: data / fire detection / access control / CCTV / …
  • You have expertise in using 2D & 3D drawing tools (Autocad, Stabicad, Revit);

Para nuestro departamento de Mantenimiento en Barcelona necesitamos incorporar operario/as de mantenimiento de instalaciones de electricidad y climatización para el sector terciario.

 

Misión


Si eres la persona seleccionada, te encargarás de realizar principalmente las siguientes funciones:

  • Ejecución del plan de mantenimiento preventivo de las instalaciones asignadas, en las especialidades de climatización, electricidad y PCI fundamentalmente y, adicionalmente en fontanería, saneamiento, albañilería y carpintería.
  • Realización de los trabajos de mantenimiento correctivos de aquellas instalaciones de las que sea responsable, con un nivel alto de complejidad en las áreas de climatización o electricidad.
  • Identificación de necesidades del cliente adicionales al contrato y reporting de las mismas para ser abordadas por parte de negocio.
  • Identificación de medidas de mejora de la calidad del servicio, la seguridad y el medio ambiente y cumplimiento de las políticas de PRL.
  • Gestiones administrativas propias del puesto: Realización de partes de horas de trabajo, registro de tareas y actividades realizadas, etc.
  • Muy excepcionalmente mantenimiento higiénico sanitario de las instalaciones de riesgo de legionelosis o gestión del mismo con el personal especializado.

Requisitos            

 

Ciclo de Formación Profesional de Grado Medio/Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Frigoríficas y de Climatización / Mantenimiento Eléctrico.

 

Imprescindibles:

  • Conocimiento ofimático de manejo de ordenador
  • Alto nivel de conocimiento en Climatización y/o Electricidad
  • Al menos, 5 años de experiencia realizando el mantenimiento integral (preventivo, correctivo y conductivo) de instalaciones de climatización, electricidad y fontanería preferiblemente.

Conocimientos específicos:

  • PRL de primer ciclo (60 hrs)
  • Carnet de Mantenedor Instalaciones Térmicas (RITE)
  • Manipulación de Gases Fluorados Certificación de Mantenimiento Legionelosis

Valorable:

  • PRL de segundo ciclo (20 hrs)
  • PRL de segundo ciclo por especialidad (6 hrs)

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) market. In this role you will support the development of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition. Efficiently communicate complex development situations, and work through development issues from the start of development through construction.  Travel as necessary for siting, development and commercial activities as required to keep development on track.

Every day in this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/ Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), financing and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout CAISO.

 

  • Responsible for managing and/or supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/EPC, financing and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout CAISO
  • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in CAISO, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control
  • Coordinate engineering activities in pursuit of permits and as required for interconnection matters
  • Work closely with engineering team in support of design and EPC process

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, or another Analytical field required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant work experience and two (2) years of experience in energy storage or renewable energy development, preferably with experience in CAISO or other Independent System Operator (ISO), with experience in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, planning, real estate, and other matters critical to development
  • Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects, within CAISO or other ISO
  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements, etc.
  • Ability to manage a large workload across a large portfolio, while prioritizing tasks and effectively managing competing deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the CAISO market or other ISO with particular focus on interconnection, regulatory and offtake matters
  • Ability to evaluate development status and efficiently inform critical decision making with management

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; and can work remotely if in California until we open the San Francisco, CA office or work our hybrid work schedule if in Houston, TX.

Compensation

Director of Interconnection - MISO

The Director of Interconnection will be responsible for managing the interconnection and grid integration process to support the company's overall development and operational goals across the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO). Focus will be on the Company’s existing ~10 GW pipeline of utility scale stand-alone energy storage projects in MISO, as well as new project analysis. You will be responsible for transmission-related topics including tariffs, planning, technical evaluation, contract negotiations and the overall interconnection process through the full life cycle of development and construction of projects.

 

Every day in this role you will be responsible for managing the interconnection process and monitor key milestones throughout the lifecycle of the project from early-stage development to commercial operation.

  

  • Coordinate, review and interpret interconnection and transmission studies performed by utilities and outside consultants
  • Function as main liaison with project developers, and third-party consultants, on matters relating to interconnection to provide technical insight and business solutions to reduce interconnection cost and remove obstacles to project development
  • Perform/manage analysis to predict interconnection capacity, deliverability, and other key parameters to support project development and have experience with load flow modeling and analyses
  • Conduct due-diligence review for potential interconnection and transmission risks related to potential projects, portfolio acquisitions, and commercial transactions; provide recommendations to the acquisition team
  • Perform transmission assessments and policy reviews to forecast future system conditions and determine commercial viability to support development and construction activities
  • Negotiation of contractual agreements with utilities
  • Collaborate with engineering team in optimizing project’s engineering design in support of grid integration requirements 
  • Represent the Company to establish and maintain productive relationships with key utility and MISO personnel, industry groups, regulators and other stakeholders on issues related to transmission and interconnection
  • Monitor regional transmission planning process and interconnection policy changes; participate as stakeholder in transmission and market-related regulatory activities as necessary with collaboration with the Company’s regulatory and development teams
  • Review utility transmission planning reports and present findings to the Company
  • Provide technical support for project development and acquisition activities in the evaluation of transmission system and planning issues
  • Actively monitor the progress of required system upgrades and identify creative mitigation solutions to support development of projects

 

 

What You’ll Bring

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Integrating the quantitative analyst team is a huge opportunity for you to work on financial modeling and IT development:

  • Financial modeling: Stochastic pricing models, XVA, VaR, SVaR, CVaR,…
  • IT development: C#, python, and big data (Amazon web service, Dataiku)

 

PRICING MODEL VALIDATION

 

  • Be in direct contact with traders, and pricing model designers to understand derivatives, and stochastic pricing models ;
  • Challenge theoretical model design and measuring model risk ;
  • Develop in C# validated stochastic models ;
  • Develop in C# alternative stochastic models.

 

MARKET AND CREDIT RISK MODEL DESIGN

 

  • XVA, VaR, SVaR, and CVaR, model designer ;
  • Improvement of stochastic models to implement in the risk engine ;
  • Interact with risk team and trading team, to understand the problem, and propose some theoretical and technical solutions ;
  • Develop and test model in python ;
  • Work with IT team for risk engine implementation ;
  • Develop “ad hoc” pricing tools and prototypes used by the FO, leveraging on the pricing library and potentially developing customized tools.

 

MODEL ON-GOING MONITORING

 

In a big data environment (python + Amazon web service), ensure model quality over the time ;

  • Challenge exotic parameter of pricing model ;
  • Design, implement, and automatize pricing model quality metrics ;
  • Calibrate stochastic model risk under historical probability.

 

HARD SKILLS

  • Knowledge of stochastic models applied to derivative pricing and risk modeling ;
