What You Can Expect

As Operations & Maintenance Technician II, in Golden, CO you will be responsible for the safe and reliable start-up, operation, and continuous monitoring of boilers, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, electric generators, and associated auxiliary and balance of plant equipment as directed by management. Every day you will perform selective maintenance on various in-plant and/or satellite equipment and will report to the Operations Manager & Shift Lead Supervisor.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • You have Two (2) years of relevant experience and/or training; licenses, endorsements; or an equivalent combination of education and competent technical abilities in one of the following crafts: Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Electrician, or Instrument & Control Technician
  • You have the ability to use analytical judgment to plan and perform diversified work, making decisions within prescribed limitations
  • You are confident in performing preventive, predictive, and repair maintenance work tasks on plant equipment; diagnose equipment problems, report abnormal conditions to management, and prepare detailed work requests for plant defects
  • You will be responsible for the safe, proper, and efficient operation of all machinery and related equipment
  • You will inspect plant and equipment, including carrying out scheduled plant checks, and prepare necessary reports and log entries
  • You are comfortable assisting in planning, organizing, and executing unit outages for inspections, overhauls, repairs, and cleaning
  • Assist with preparation and administration of operations, maintenance, and Health Safety & Environmental procedures and reports
  • You will maintain accurate records while monitoring and maintaining plant equipment and systems
  • You will participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance skills required to perform duties and assist in the training of others
  • Train and qualify as an Operator Technician at the ENGIE facilities in the Denver/Golden Colorado area
  • Other duties related to safe plant operations, maintenance, and reliability

 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; will drive company vehicle

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $35.69 to $47.54 USD hourly

What You Can Expect

As an intern in our Westminster, CO office, you will work as a supporting key member of the Delivery Project Management (PM) team within the Utility-Scale Renewable Development business.

Every day you will support the Delivery Project Management team  with activities for ENGIE’s project portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects, standardized processes, and documentation. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Create process maps and flowcharts from departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Gather information by planning, attending, and participating in departmental meetings to gather information to create maps and charts
  • Research process topics and review existing documents
  • Interview company representatives to gather details for process map and flowchart creation
  • Present created process maps and charts to inter-department leads for review
  • Manage computer files and software application outputs, and publish created output as directed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be at least a junior or senior working toward a graduate or undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, science, or similar technical or analytics-based program
  • Effective communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint

What You Can Expect 

As the Site Operations Manager for this 500 MW power plant situated near Rogers, TX, you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising four technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.
 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar/storage site.
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses
  • Knowledge of using equipment suitable for lifting up to 50 lbs, if necessary

About the team

 

The Renewables & Urban Business Line of Laborelec provides business-focused research and expertise services to energy operators worldwide in the fields of future home and collectivities, solar, wind, hybrid and flexible assets, e-Mobility, lighting and energy storage.  

 

What you’ll be doing

 

We offer 2 years rotation program, you will have the possibility of being active on operational and R&D projects as an Expert or a Project Manager within our Business Line Renewables & Urban.

Within the R&U business line, different types of projects are managed:

  • desktop studies or pilot project realization to solution development and measurement campaigns in domains related to future home and collectivities, solar, wind, storage, green mobility, energy management and hybridisation of technologies (incl. digital and data management).
  • development of power & energy management systems (EMS), optimizing the operation of the energy system.

 

These projects are typically performed in collaboration with research or industrial partners and operational entities of ENGIE and in combination with Laborelec’s expertises (energy storage, renewable energy technologies, electric mobility smart charging, power network studies & measurements, cyber security, IT solutions, …)

 

The exact program will be defined at the start of your activities depending on your affinities and needs. A personal development program and follow-up will also be in place to support and guide you during your learning process.

  • Hold a Master Degree in Electromechanical or Electrical engineering, with a maximum of 2 years of experience.
  • Have knowledge in digital and data treatment and analysis, with a good understanding of the physical sense of the analysed data. Experience with Python is an advantage.
