Position Summary

The Shift Chemist will be responsible for monitoring the operating parameters necessary to achieve the optimum chemical conditions, both for current operations and to maintain the integrity of the power and water plant processes over the longer term. The principal chemist should have a detailed understanding of the chemical and environmental matters associated with the operations of Combined Cycle Plant, Desalinations Plant and a wide range of Auxiliary Equipment

Plant Operations

  • Perform periodic sampling/calibration of lab instruments and checks of plant process water, sea water inlet and return (outfall) water and maintains a record of result.
  • Carry out routine Lab analysis of the plant process steam water cycle, Demin water, distillate, potable water and other random samples.
  • Knowledge on Co2 plant and Electro chlorination Plant
  • Monitor analytical results and take corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support and organize procedure for specialized acid cleaning, demister cleaning and degassifier cleaning etc.
  • Investigate and provide advice to operations about plant chemistry related issues and shutdown inspections along with report preparation (MED, Boilers, Condenser etc.)
  • Perform Lab analysis techniques, provide reports and recommend necessary remedial measures on material compatibility related issues to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinates with external Labs for analysis results.
  • Responsible for maintaining material safety data sheets for all the chemicals used in Plant.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the lab chemicals, inventory and bulk chemicals consumption monitoring on routine basis
  • Boiler chemical cleaning and preservation.

Planning Engineer

Purpose

The Planning Engineer shall have overall responsibility for the management of the Plant O&M Planning. The primary responsibilities are to provide leadership for outage performance and continuous improvement of the work management process.

To liaison with the operations, maintenance and engineering departments to establish the maintenance schedule based on inspection & preventive maintenance cycles as specified by OEM’s. The schedule shall include detailed work plan, critical activities, milestone dates, resource loading, generate progress S-Curve, rolling program etc. The role shall also include periodic review and update of the schedule. Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an engineering, contracting, or similar industry within the GCC.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards, such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, and BSRIA, as well as knowledge of KSA building codes.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control of mechanical systems is mandatory, including the ability to establish the sequence of operation for various systems (e.g., FAHUs, AHUs, fans, pumps).
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous.

Working Experience:
