CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR

Purpose of the Position:
Follow-up and ensure the timely and correct execution of Contracts for Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Construction Management, Owners Engineer, Maintenance (O&M) of gas transportation assets services, among others, aligning the contractual framework and contract(s) specifications to project’s objectives and Contractual Strategy. With and specific focus on risk and changes mitigation. .
Responsibilities and Job Functions:
- Ensure that all contract and risk management activities are timely and accurately monitored and carried out, while protecting Engie’s and/or any of its affiliates’ interests throughout the full project construction lifecycle.
- Support Claim Management, in full coordination with the Project Team, to:
- • Identify and maintain an updated facts and events traceability matrix,
- • Prepare claims / change orders as they arise, requesting additional LDs, cost, or time compensation to contractors.
- • Review and challenge any claims from contractors.
- • Develop the negotiation strategy and support negotiations of change orders / amendments.
- • Prepare, update, and finalize any required event claims (e.g., Force Majeure) / change orders / amendments to the offtaker(s), Fully document any material events which may result in formal dispute, as required by the legal team, to ensure Engie’s position.
- • Verify contractors fully comply with Engie’s standards on ethics and anti-corruption.
- Regarding contractor/supplier relationships
- • Provision of contractual advice to Project Team (e.g., flow down from TSA) for major subcontracts and suppliers.
- • Ensure all contract(s) is(are) fully and compliantly executed
- • Ensure all guarantees, insurance policies, bonds, etc are delivered by the Contractor and remain current throughout the project lifecycle.
Occupational Profile:
University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law or an
equivalent, plus extensive experience in the construction industry within O&G sector.
At least 5 years of previous experience leading communications external/corporate external/public relations department in global companies or public companies and sectors or business regulated.
Understanding of regulatory requirements for the construction and operation of gas transportation projects in Mexico is desirable.
ü Knowledge of Mexican legislation applicable to contract law (EPCM, O&M and Professional Service agreements).
ü Knowledge of Construction phases withing pipeline projects, cost estimating, budged forecasts.
ü Knowledge on instruments required to guarantee delivery, quality, and performance (bonds, insurance policies, Letters of Credit, etc.).
Ability to write, speak and carry out contractual negotiations in Spanish and English is a must.
5-6 years of relevant experience in contract management of major contractors in roles dealing with negotiation and management of gas transportation (pipeline) projects, change procedures, cost management, claims and variations, negotiation and settlement of disputes with contractors and offtaker(s).
