What You Can Expect

As the Senior Software (Controls) Engineer in Houston, Texas  for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal, and Hydrogen) North America you will be a key developer in a cross-functional development group. Within ENGIE’s dynamic environment, you will be expected to design, implement and test control algorithms for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Every day, you will report to the Software Director of Engineering to provide input on controls, simulation and modeling development in a wide range of software development activities and occasionally be the sole development resource on a project.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study
  • A minimum or five (5) years Matlab/Simulink experience modeling algorithms and physical systems
  • A minimum of three (3) years designing and implementing object-oriented software in C/C++
  • A minimum of one (1) Matlab/Simulink Autocode generation experience developing real-time controllers
  • Experience developing complex model based simulation environments
  • Expert knowledge in controls and signal processing techniques

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

Director, Green Fuels Practice Lead

As a Director, you will be part of the Engie Impact Strategy and Implementation leadership team. This role focuses on providing support to our clients who are working to accelerate their transition to zero emission across a variety of capabilities. As a Green Fuels Practice Lead, you will the driving force behind both our regional Green Fuels growth and global cooperation through spearheading a robust commercialization and go-to-market strategy, crafting relevant offerings, and fostering collaboration within the Engie. Experience

  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability, green fuels, renewables, clean energy, and combating the global climate crisis
  • 10+ years of demonstrated professional experience; a minimum of five years of client-facing project delivery experience focusing on Scope 1 and green fuel challenges (e.g., with a competitive management consulting firm, a leading energy transition consulting organization or similar experience)
  • Graduate degree in business, applied sciences, engineering, environment or sustainability with a stellar record of academic achievement preferred; Bachelor’s degree required

Mission

  • You manage engineering activities for energy projects, with priority for power generation and renewable projects.
  • You plan and monitor the evolution of the allocated projects.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the budget, the timing, and the quality of the engineering works are realized as required. You will make sure that the projects assigned to you will be elaborated in accordance to our quality system and our H&S rules.

As a Senior Actualizations Analyst in Houston, you play a critical role by ensuring accurate and timely data input within the Risk management system.   • Collaborate with traders and risk managers to ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Monitor and validate data from Poweroptix (settlements system) and other sources being recorded in the ETRM system
  • Collaborate with market risk team to ensure they are represented correctly in daily P&L reporting
  • Work with Aligne/FIS Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems to ensure data integrity and consistency
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and exceptions related to energy transactions
  • Generate reports and provide insights to support risk management and governance activities surrounding the trading decisions
  • Provide business insights and collaborate with Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) IT to ensure actualization processes are running accurately

What You’ll Bring

Mid-Office Settlements Advisor

What You Can Expect

As our Mid-Office Settlements Advisor, you will be integral in estimating, reconciling, and explaining the revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) for the retail business to management. In this role, you will collaborate with various departments including Portfolio Management, Forecasting, Operations, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accuracy and coherence in financial reporting. Additionally, as the Natural Gas Settlements Advisor, you will support Mid-Office activities across the Northeast and Midwest. Your responsibilities will include month-end estimation of volume, revenue, COGS, and hedge P&L; reconciling these estimates to actuals; addressing and correcting variances; ensuring billing pass-through revenue neutrality; and explaining gross margin results and variances to management. This position can sit in Houston, TX or Woodmere, NY  reporting to the Director of Business Performance.

 

 

  • Gross Margin Estimation and Reporting: At month-end, estimate gross margin by assessing volume, revenue, COGS, and hedge P&L. Collaborate with Portfolio Management to deliver accurate data to Accounting
  • Settlement Analysis and Adjustments: Analyze adjustments from previous settlement periods, acquire actualized data from Accounting, reconcile with month-end estimates, identify variance causes, and explain key drivers to management while ensuring billing pass-through revenue neutrality
  • Invoice Management: Assist with the validation and processing of utility and pipeline invoices, reconcile these invoices with internal records, ensure accurate and timely payment processing, and manage comprehensive counterparty settlements
  • Continuous Improvement and System Automation: Participate in, and potentially lead, continuous improvement efforts that may include the design, development, testing, and implementation of automated systems to enhance efficiency
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead or contribute to special projects involving transaction analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and audits. Actively contribute to the development of the Mid Office Settlements team and foster a positive working environment at Engie

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of Business, Financial Analysis, Settlement Analysis, Natural Gas Retail Supply or related field
  • You have strong experience in mid-office functions within the retail natural gas energy markets, including deep familiarity with at least one major New York market and one major Midwest natural gas market
  • You possess excellent skills in structuring, organizing, and presenting information clearly and effectively
  • You are resourceful, capable of using a variety of tools, data sources, and systems, and you have an inherent curiosity to explore and test new resources
  • Your project management skills are deadline-driven, facilitating efficient cross-organizational coordination, with a comprehensive understanding of job functions across front and back office

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

As the Application Management Director in Houston, Texas for ENGIE North America you will support all the business activities within ENGIE’s Renewables Business Unit. Every day, you report to the Vice President of IT & Digital to provide information technology and operational technology support for construction and commissioning of Wind, Solar and Battery Storage systems which includes developing objectives and strategies to align with company visions. What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of IT personnel management, IT project management; a solid track record of successful systems implementation and support in a professional setting; in lieu of a four-year degree, you should bring a total of twelve (12) years of experience in which you have gained an understanding of business systems including asset/ maintenance management, SCADA, health & safety, environmental, and maintenance/outage management

What You Can Expect

The Project Management Senior Advisor will be a part of ENGIE’s Central Capital Projects Team based at Georgetown University’s campus. This position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of large and critical capital improvement projects related to the utility infrastructure systems at Georgetown University. These systems encompass the production and distribution of chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the electricity and natural gas networks. The Senior Advisor will have overall responsibility, risk-management, and accountability of the large project.


 

Daily, you will manage the project team including internal staff and external consultants with the functions required to deliver a large industrial project on time, on budget, and without health, safety, environmental, and public relations issues. You will lead construction contractors, qualified equipment vendors, suppliers, and design/engineering firms to ensure successful completion of the project as well as overseeing the design and construction contracts of heating and cooling distributions replacement, and in-building equipment retrofit with assistance from legal counsel and contracts administrators. You’ll follow and improve ENGIE’s project management and reporting processes through all phases of project development and execution. You will liaise and coordinate all design, construction and commissioning activities with related ENGIE and Georgetown University staff. Other duties include managing scope, schedule, budget forecasts, resource requirements, risk registers, and other components of the project. You are flexible and adjust to changing business and project conditions. You develop and present alternative solutions to problems, and recommend a course of action to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget. You measure project performance relying on KPI’s for engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and start-up and report monthly, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to achieve project objectives. You will hire consultants, external contractors, and internal employees to successfully complete this project and provide regular reports to ENGIE management and summary reports to Georgetown University. You provide lateral and direct management to ENGIE employees supporting the projects; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with all state, local, and university entities.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in which you have gained a foundation of Project Management skills, business communication, and effective leadership.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in project management of large campus utility infrastructure projects or similar industrial construction projects
  • Expert level acumen in financial and contractual aspects of capital projects in addition to technical and organizational structures
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and are able to engage professionally with all stakeholders including Georgetown University faculty and students as well as staff, contractors and government agencies
  • Highly adept at multi-tasking and utilizing problem solving and critical thinking skills to manage project risks
  • Knowledge of modern project management tools such as Project, Primavera P6, Procore or competing products
  • A PMP certification or the desire to achieve one

  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time with the need for some overnight trips

As our Project Development Advisor for ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage (DSS), you will play a crucial role in supporting site origination and development of distributed solar and solar + storage projects across North America. What You’ll Bring
