What You Can Expect

Our intern located at the University of Iowa campus in Iowa city, IA will be learning how to safely sample and treat water. This group maintains water treatment and measures water quality for buildings that are utilizing water softening, reverse osmosis, deionization, distillation processes and swimming pool and spa water quality, as well as heating and cooling loops.

 

Everyday is different in this internship. A typical day will include independently learning and ultimately conducting water sampling using prescribed techniques, and some light maintenance. You may assist with retrieval and analysis of sampling results, developing and maintaining trending of readings to help identify maintenance needs or design flaws leading to poor quality water.  You may also assist with the execution of m inventory tracking, using a variety of computer programs, and will learn to perform analysis of key data indicating need for replacement or upgrade of equipment to ensure quality water is delivered.

 

Objectives:

  • Be able to independently identify leaks and malfunctions in water treatment systems and contact the Water Services Planner to develop a Corrective Work Order in the Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS)
  • Efficiently develop and maintain results and analyses of water quality for systems across campus, working at the direction of the Manager, Quality Water Services, to help uncover water quality issues and maintenance needs
  • Maintain equipment inventory databases, working at the direction of Manager, Quality Water Services and/or Water Services Planner. Inventory could be retained in spreadsheet, database, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or ArcGIS, depending on dataset and usage

 

We are very flexible during the school year you can come in and train during any of our operating shifts, gaining hours and operational experience.  You will work rotating shifts on assigned weekends ( we operate three shifts).

Compensation

Salary Range:  $20.00 – $32.00 USD hourly

What You Can Expect

As our Utility Performance Programming Intern based at the University of Iowa campus, you'll play a crucial role in leveraging real-time and historical data to enhance efficiency and cost savings for the campus utility system, providing steam, electricity, chilled water, water, and sewer services. You'll utilize the PI System software to connect with control systems at the campus Power Plant, Chilled Water Plants, Water Plant, and Electrical Distribution Systems, as well as real-time metering for various utilities across approximately 90 buildings. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design, development, and deployment of custom applications interacting with the PI System, relational databases, web APIs, Office 365, and other systems.

 

We're actively seeking an intern available for 10-15 hours per week during the semester, with availability for additional hours during summer or school breaks. The intern will work at the Energy Control Center in the USB building on campus, with operational hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm,  we are offering flexibility within this timeframe for start and end times. This internship is available for the 2025 School year with planned  employment to continue until December 31, 2025. Other internships may be available upon expected end date.

 

On a daily basis, you'll collaborate with our Utilities Performance Manager, Senior Software Developer, and Energy Analyst, following modern software engineering principles and best practices to develop, test, maintain, and deploy custom applications that interact with utility system data.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be an enrolled student at the University of Iowa
  • Completed coursework in data structures, object-oriented programming, software development, or related programming courses is required

Contexte:

 

Le département FinOp est une organisation de contrôle de gestion et de Middle Office au sein de GEM. L'équipe MO Market Access joue un rôle de fonction support pour la plateforme Market Access et pour d'autres BPs dans l'analyse de leurs opérations de trading et d'origination. La plateforme Market Access est composée à la fois d'une activité de Market Making (interaction avec les ventes pour le portefeuille client) et d'une activité de gestion des risques internes (couverture des positions prises par d'autres BPs sur les marchés des matières premières énergétiques).

Le Middle Office Market Access est impliqué dans la production du résultat économique de GEM, la valorisation des positions et la préparation de rapports. Le calcul est basé sur les opérations réalisées par les traders sur les marchés. Nous en assurons la cohérence par l'analyse des expositions et de l'évolution des paramètres de marché. Le périmètre comprend des opérations vanilles et complexes sur les produits pétroliers, gaziers, électriques et les émissions. Vous acquerrez ainsi une solide expérience sur un portefeuille de produits large et diversifié.

Le Middle Office Market Access est également intégré dans l'ensemble des processus des équipes FinOp, tels que les clôtures mensuelles. Il existe une forte interaction avec les équipes Front Office et Finance basées en Europe, aux États-Unis et à Singapour. Vous serez amené à calculer les valeurs de P&L, à challenger les résultats et à produire des analyses plus approfondies sur des stratégies spécifiques lorsque les traders en auront besoin. Une forte capacité d'analyse est appréciée. En raison de la collaboration étroite entre le Front Office et les autres équipes de fonctions support (telles que le Back Office, d'autres équipes financières ou les risques de marché), une forte capacité à communiquer avec d'autres personnes est demandée. Role:

  • Production du P&L économique quotidien, en assurant sa cohérence et son intégrité, principalement sur les périmètres gaz, pétrole et électricité.
  • Analyse des valorisations Mark to Market des transactions du Front Office.
  • Contrôles et explication du P&L à travers des indicateurs de risque : explications des Greeks, valorisation MtM, évolution des paramètres de marché, expositions aux matières premières.
  • Analyse et explication de la performance des traders (et des ventes), à travers des rapports basés sur des indicateurs spécifiques (PnL, valeur créée à l'initiation, volume échangé).
  • Analyse de la rentabilité d'une stratégie ou d'un client.
  • Fournir un support opérationnel au Front Office.
  • Réalisation de demandes ad hoc du Front Office ou de la direction.
  • Participation aux clôtures de fin de mois et aux contrôles spécifiques.
  • Gestion de la structure des livres du Front Office.

 

Compétences techniques:

  • Vous pouvez travailler en anglais.
  • Les compétences en VBA/Python/SQL sont fortement appréciées.

The Project Manager/Engineering Intern is a critical role responsible for supporting the development and installation of energy conservation measures and renewable energy at large-scale public sector customers. You will be working in a fast-paced, team-based environment, at the direction of a Project Manager and Project Engineer. Responsibilities in this role include the design of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Measures, performing site audits, specifying equipment, and completing savings calculations to support projects in development and construction. Projects include a combination of energy efficiency measures and renewable generation installations, to help local cities and counties become more sustainable, save money, and improve services to their end-users.

 

The intern will support the City of Vacaville’s energy project as well as ongoing projects in development or in construction which will include but aren’t limited to the following:

  • Participate in technical design of energy-related customer improvements including such as solar photovoltaic (PV), energy storage, microgrids, energy efficiency, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) upgrades
  • Learn and apply knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Controls, including modeling software
  • Analyze utility data to verify existing customer loads, consider rate change options, and calculate energy and water cost savings
  • Perform renewable energy designs, including solar PV and energy storage system site surveys, and understand metering and measurement tools and data
  • Evaluate various types and locations of renewable energy systems

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Enrolled student at Solano Community College
  • Engineering degrees strongly preferred
  • Must be in good academic standing at the start of the internship period
  • Internship duration is for 3 months during Spring starting in April

  • This is a remote position with occasional visits to project sites
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to travel to job sites

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $21.00 - $34.00 USD

This position is created by a partnership with West County Wastewater (WCW) and ENGIE through the Clean & Green Project, a multi-year upgrade project at the Water Quality Resource & Recovery Plant in Richmond.

 

This student internship program will employ a multi-faceted learning program and creates an opportunity for you to apply your academic preparation to practical work experience in communications. You will work a hybrid schedule from WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant in Richmond, CA. This internship is for the Spring semester from January 2025 to March 2024.

 

You will gain experience in marketing, social media work, and community outreach. There will also be public speaking, research, and copyediting. You will assist the Communications Manager, travel within the district to visit work sites, WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be enrolled at a local university or junior college.  This position is suited for students in STEM programs or studying Environmental Sciences, Communications, Graphic Design, or Communications programs or pathways

Job         Purpose/Mission 

 

 As an Archiving Officer Intern, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization, preservation, and retrieval of records and documents within our archives. You will play a crucial role in   maintaining the integrity of company records and ensuring that they are accessible to those who require them.

 

              Responsibilities: -

  • Record Management: Manage the organization's records and documents according to established archival standards and procedures.
  • Documentation Preservation: Ensure the preservation and conservation of historical records, including paper documents, photographs, digital files, and other media.
  • Cataloguing and Indexing: Create detailed catalogues and indexes of archival materials to facilitate easy retrieval and access for researchers and staff.
  • Digitization Projects: Oversee digitization projects to convert physical records into digital formats, ensuring long-term accessibility and preservation.
  • Access Control: Implement access controls and security measures to protect sensitive or confidential information within the archives.
  • Research Support: Provide support to researchers, historians, and other stakeholders by assisting with inquiries and locating relevant archival materials.

Knowledge and skills 

 

Experience:

  • Experience working in archives, libraries, or records management.

Situering en probleemstelling :

Op de kerncentrale worden veiligheidskleppen getest en ingesteld aan de hand van een testbank op lucht. Een algemene testopstelling om afsluiters te testen op doorlaten en/of om een druktest uit te voeren, is er niet.

Doelstellingen :

Het doel van dit eindwerk bestaat erin om een testbank te ontwikkelen waarmee mecaniciens op éénvoudige wijze afsluiters kunnen testen. Hierbij moet gebruik gemaakt worden van de bestaande test mogelijkheden voor veiligheidskleppen en het moet kunnen dienen voor de meeste van de geïnstalleerde afsluiters.

De testbank zal moeten bestaan uit een opspanmechanisme waarbij verschillende types afsluiters (verschillende afmetingen) moeten kunnen vastgeklemd worden.
