What You Can Expect

Our intern located at the University of Iowa campus in Iowa city will be learning how to safely treat drinking water at our Grade IV Water Treatment facility where we treat both surface and ground sourced water. The intern will learn to  perform clarification and lime softening methods and will  also utilize reverse osmosis and activated carbon treatment processes. The minimum certification required to independently operate the University of Iowa Water Plant is a Class II Water Operator Certification. The student employment program at the Water Plant will be aimed toward helping students achieve a Water Operator Certification.  As part of your training  you will learn how to properly test water, and to understand the results.  You will also learn the regulatory basis for water quality requirements, and effluent / by-product disposal requirements.

Daily, you will learn new tasks in our treatment process. You will take samples and learn to adjust chemicals (automated) based on  the chemical properties of the water. You will be monitoring SCADA screens and learning how the plant is supposed to operate, as well as troubleshooting equipment.  You’ll conduct walk-throughs of the plant checking on equipment and logging test results and findings collected.

We are very flexible during the school year you can come in and train during any of our operating shifts, gaining hours and operational experience.  You will work rotating shifts on assigned weekends ( we operate three shifts).

What You Can Expect

As our Construction Management, II (CM) at The University of Iowa you will have the critical role of managing safe efficient construction projects across the University of Iowa Campus.  These projects are focused on Energy and Utility improvements and are located on the Main and Oakdale campus and include the University Hospital.

This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system. The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm and wastewater infrastructure.

No two days will be the same, you will be conducting meetings with employees, subcontractors and the University or other stakeholders, preparing and executing Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans for Capital Improvement and efficiency projects, this includes provisions for site access and security credentials or traffic control to the work areas. Before breaking ground, you will be walking job sites and coordinating with GIS analysts and locators to make sure buried utilities are properly identified and that construction work and job safety plans take these potential hazards into account. During construction phase you will be walking the jobsites checking on safety and project completion, consulting with Engineers, Contractors, and Project Management ensuring that the project meets standards and code, conforms to our approved specifications and drawings. A key part of the role will involve communicating with project stakeholders on the progress, issues and concerns and to work through them collaboratively. When the project work involves taking a service outage, which happens often, you’ll need to coordinate the outage with stakeholders well in advance using established processes. Every step of the way, you’ll be expected to provide a QA/QC oversight of the work, to ensure the work meets specifications and passes required inspections.

As the project wraps up, you will lead the punch list and commissioning processes.

• Support bidder site visits during the contracting phase and manages Requests for Information (RFI)
• Support cost estimation and scheduling for projects in development/design
• Support the Project Manager with Technical/Commercial oversight Including:
  • Review of change requests, directives
  • Review of monthly payment applications from Contractors and Construction Administrators
• Opine on constructability through the review of Contractor plans, determining if special operator access or maintenance provisions are required
• Provide field input to assist the project manager in tracking and reporting of schedule and budget performance during the construction phase
• Partner with project engineers to develop a project procedures manual, providing the framework for construction addressing mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation & controls and administrative fundamental requirements

What You’ll Bring

• You will have  a minimum of a high school diploma  or GED and two (2) years of experience in the successful management of industrial or municipal construction projects in which you gained a practical understanding of design, construction and operations of thermal plants and distribution
• You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
• You will have demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members  and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and the resolution of conflict situations
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met
• Experience in evaluating request for quotes / request for proposals in industrial construction environments
• Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management 
• You will have gained experience creating presentations and professional  communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other Project Management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Practical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 – $114,195 USD annually

Your mission   

• As Department Assistant in our “Nuclear Safety & Engineering” and “Responsible Designer” department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role: 
• Support to the Department Manager in secretariat tasks such as :
• To manage the diary - To prepare documents for meetings or to be handed out to other participants
• To organize meetings, travels, conferences participation
• To assist her/him in the follow-up of the mailbox
• To type and submit the department report
• Follow-up of recruitment process
• Welcoming visitors, telephone call filtering, message taking
• Handling of all secretariat tasks in an independent way
• Typing all types of documents
• Managing the incoming and outgoing mail and documents :

sorting, copying, distribution
filing, archiving

• To comply with the instructions in the project quality manual (templates, powers of signature, document storage, etc.)
• To establish PREQ’s (orders for services & material)
• Organization of BAGN_MS assistants meetings

Your key responsibilities   

• As assistant of the department manager you provide operational support: responding to requests, organizing internal meetings/seminars/internal and external events, you manage the community of assistants inside the department, you act on behalf of the department manager for some approvals
• As polyvalent assistant you are in charge of the management of documents in accordance with the specific Nuclear Business Area quality procedures :
• To do the layout of meeting reports, project related documents, incoming and outgoing mails …

To archive documents with the appropriate internal tool
To follow the instructions for the archiving of documents according to the project requirements
To distribute documents to internal or external customers

• You ensure purchase orders and make sure that invoices are paid
• You ensure the management of roles & distribution lists and Server Project Spaces
• You handle administrative tasks for your Manager
• You are in charge of updating CV’s of collaborators with the appropriate tool
• You are responsible for managing, scheduling and organizing meetings and travels
• You are in charge of organising the meetings for the trainings given to collaborators 

We would love to hear from people with  
 

• You have a diploma in secretarial studies or similar and you have around 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Languages : you are fluent in dutch, french and proficient in English
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,…) • Good communication skills and team player with an attitude of collaboration, trust, honesty and transparency. You are dynamic and you like teamworking.

  Mission 

• You provide design and / or consultancy for electrical substations / installations for control, protection, measurement up to 400 kV, for local and international clients. Your drive is to achieve and exceed the client’s expectations;
• You act in electrical or renewable projects;
• You assist on Design Notes, Drafts, Specifications, Technical Specifications and Briefs, Progress Reports, etc.;
• You collaborate to the quality assurance plan of your projects;

Profile 

• Engineering background (Bachelor / Master Degree) in electrical field;
• Good knowledge of electrical engineering;

• Knowledge in electrical substations / networks shall be considered as a plus;
• Knowledge of design and software tools dedicated to design of electrical installations is a plus;
• English proficiency, good knowledge of a second language can be an advantage;
• Very good knowledge of MS Office package;
• Available for travelling, in Romania and abroad;
• Driving license;

We are looking for a QHSE Manager to support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Energy. You will participate actively in improving the QHSE culture in TRACTEBEL Thailand and SEA region  by supporting, reviewing, and initiating appropriate QHSE processes. You will evolve in an international environment and work in close coordination with other teams throughout the company to deliver projects at the highest quality standards.

Missions

• Report to the Head of HR, QHSSE, Communications APAC.
• Promote a QHSE culture within the Organization and support for the continual improvement.
• Implement the QHSE requirements coming from the Group. Well versed in the development of the QHSE management system as and when required.
• Support the organization in getting the ISO certifications (e.g 9001, 14001, 45001 etc.) and maintain the same by performing all action and arrangement needed to maintain the certification.
• Realize an internal audit of the practices in Health and Safety, Quality and Environment in Tractebel Thailand and SEA region. 
• Propose an action plan to support, review and implement the processes in Quality (including Project Management), HR, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, Health and Safety, Environment, and Knowledge Management recommended by the Group. 
• Participate in the implementation of the action plan through communication actions, trainings, procedures, and risk evaluation.
• Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters and ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, project contractual requirements and good industry practice.
• Create a reporting and KPI in QHSE for the region. 
• Perform safety audits at site based on risks assessment. 
• Provide technical advice and training to employees on QHSE initiatives and necessary changes.
