What You Can Expect

As a Software Developer, you will collaborate with a dynamic software development team to design and build web and cloud-based applications using the Microsoft .NET framework, the Azure platform, and/or Oracle PL/SQL. What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working with C# and NET frameworks or Oracle PL/SQL. In lieu of a four-year degree, you bring a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in software development, during which you have gained a strong understanding of the field and demonstrated the ability to design and develop web and cloud-based applications
  • Experienced with Microsoft SQL Server, including database performance tuning, and have a strong understanding of Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage
  • Expertise in ETL tools and processes, with proven experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and writing complex PL/SQL scripts for data manipulation, validation, and management
  • Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug applications effectively
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems and follow best practices for version control and collaboration
  • Perform code reviews based on established standards and actively contribute to refining those standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, architects, and system owners in testing and deploying new features

  • Articulate and Align Product Offerings: Master ENGIE's product offerings and clearly communicate how proposals meet or exceed customer requirements, ensuring alignment with their specific load patterns and business needs
  • Negotiate and Finalize Agreements: Use negotiation skills, margin guidance, and legal support to structure transaction terms and conditions, securing agreements that maximize revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Propose Competitive Offers: Present electricity supply and renewable product solutions to customers and brokers, ensuring proposals are evaluated on a like-to-like basis to enhance deal success rates
  • Collaborate for Strategic Success: Partner with Key Account Team members on significant transactions, utilizing regional and CRM expertise to improve closing rates and ensure seamless customer service delivery

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related discipline; in lieu of the educational requirement, we will accept a minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience where you gain experience in retail energy sales or developing and implementing effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • You have persuasive communication, effective negotiation skills, and interaction with executive-level decision-makers

Additional Details

The Role
Our Origination team are responsible for securing high value structured power, renewable, carbon and environmental transactions; promoting risk management solutions and market access services to wholesale clients and counterparts. Our team work in close collaboration with the Trading and Supply teams.

About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Economics, Legal, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Trader, Originator, Structurer, or in energy procurement within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Prior experience or exposure to complex negotiations and the end-to-end process to execution;
  • Articulate, with high commercial awareness and exceptional consultative skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functional in a complex matrix organisation, developing strong internal networks to deliver strategic results.

  • Commercial acumen within the thermal, hybrid, renewable or storage sector; experience of PPA in BESS, Wind and Solar power stations is advantageous.  and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

We are looking for a Lawyer to join the existing legal team of three  persons in Rome, to support its expanding business in Italy which includes trading of energy commodities, financial derivate contracts, risk management services and energy transition contracts including corporate power purchase agreements, batteries and biomethane contracts.

Mission:

The lawyer will work in GEMS Legal team in Rome. His/her mission is to support the trading and portfolio activities on the day to day topics related to power and gas businesses and to participate in ongoing projects. The person will work closely with all GEMS teams: trading, sales, operations, risks and back-office.

The main roles and accountabilities would be:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies and solutions to lawfully facilitate GEMS’ commercial objectives while mitigating associated legal risk
  • Advise on, draft, review, negotiate GEMS’ contracts (ISDA and EFET Master Agreements, Energy commodity supply contracts, Renewable Power Purchase Agreements, BESS and Biomethane Agreements and related agreements) and bespoke energy and risk management and services contracts
  • Draft, review, negotiate support credit management documentation (e.g. netting agreements, credit support annexes, letters of credit and guarantees) and any ancillary agreements
  • Conduct regulatory and other due diligence, review and advise on credit support, legal opinions and other conditions precedent relevant for GEMS’ contracts and services
  • Liaise with and draft legal analysis and memoranda for management and internal governance purposes
  • Address legal and regulatory developments relating to energy commodities in regulated markets, provide training on topical issues to GEMS colleagues and attend internal and industry conferences and forums
  • Develop practice notes and assist with policy and guidelines formulation and application and improve and develop standard clauses and templates
  • Advise on and execute the implementation of the reforms of commercial, financial or energy market regulation in GEMS’ products and services
  • Provide legal support in relation to contractual event-driven issues such as events of default, covenant breaches, force majeure, waivers, acceleration and enforcement and to pre-insolvency and insolvency procedures
  • Supervise external counsels

 

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to take part in the ongoing initiatives and projects launched within GEMS Legal & Regulation or more generally within GEMS.

About YOU

Qualifications required: 

Master’s degree in Law. 

Specific Knowledge:

  • Languages: Fluent English and Italian oral and written with strong drafting skills (another language is a plus)

We have two 6 month fixed term contract opportunities for Sales Ledger Assistants to support the administration of the Accounts Receivable function of the Energy Supply division.  These are hybrid roles to be based in our Leeds office.  On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Accurately record all entries to the accounts receivable ledgers, including invoices, credit notes, payments, refunds, etc.
  • Ensure all customer-related cash transactions are cleared through the general ledger in accordance with the daily cash clearing process, maintaining accurate and clean bank reconciliations.
  • Proactively engage with internal colleagues and customers to improve data quality and reduce unallocated amounts on the accounts receivable ledger.
  • Timely and accurate allocation of accounts receivable transactions in accordance with agreed policies.
  • Execute Direct Debit collections and refunds in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Complete external audit requests efficiently through effective planning and good internal communication.
  • Support financial accounting processes, including monthly financial closes and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with system change projects as required.
  • Adhere to internal processes and risk frameworks, including INCOME and ad-hoc internal audit assignments.

 

Knowledge and skills

  • Highly numerate with strong verbal reasoning skills.
  • Proven ability to produce work under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical skills to identify solutions using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Preferable knowledge of Direct Debit scheme rules.

 

Experience

  • Experience with accounts receivable processes within a large, complex organization.
  • Familiarity with Direct Debit scheme operations.
