What You Can Expect

As our Construction Management Advisor (CM), you will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and facilitating the construction and commissioning of distributed-scale solar and energy storage projects. In this role, you will manage construction and commissioning work being performed by subcontractors, including oversight of Safety, and will work with our internal Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, and Finance Departments, as well as our 3rd Party Owner’s Engineer(s) and other consultants to oversee the execution of the project. Additionally, you would be expected to have a proven background in managing large, complex construction projects, demonstrating your ability to handle multifaceted challenges and deliver successful outcomes. This role can be based in Chicago, IL reporting to the Director of Project Delivery

 

 

  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, overseeing development through to project closeout, including Health, Safety, and Environment program participation
  • Track and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and deliverables, including off-take agreements and EPC agreements
  • Prepare and present weekly construction progress reports, manage construction invoices and expenses, and oversee material delivery and inventory
  • Develop and implement construction safety and progress measurement KPIs, conduct regular project meetings, and coordinate with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and suppliers, to facilitate project communication and success

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects, including training and/or certifications
  • A minimum of three (3) years of project management experience, constructing solar or power construction projects
  • You possess proficiency in managing construction activities, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and sequencing
  • You are experienced with hands-on use of construction equipment tools and equipment
  • You have a collaborative approach to work, with a strong attention to detail and documentation, including daily logs, KPI tracking, periodic reporting, and other standard construction management activities

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence. For candidates in remote cities, occasional travel to our office locations in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX is required, approximately once a quarter during off weeks
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 75% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, use of company vehicle

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $165,000 USD annually

What You Can Expect

As the Electrical Engineering Commissioning Advisor, you have a pivotal role in leading and supporting commissioning of ultilty-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects.  Your expertise will guide the commissioning process, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules and budgets.

 

Every day in this role you will:

  • Lead and support commissioning activities, collaborating closely with EPC contractors on-site
  • Manage all facets of plant commissioning, including equipment inspection, system checkout, and daily activity oversight
  • Review and communicate start-up schedules with the engineering team, project manager, and senior management
  • Provide technical support to ensure project completion within regulatory standards and budget constraints
  • Take ownership of component and system integrity, coordinating with various departments to fulfill contractual obligations
  • Assist the project manager in compiling turnover packages for operations

 

Commissioning Duties:

  • Develop and implement a commissioning philosophy, plan, schedule, standards, and procedures
  • Refine commissioning methodologies and tools to support organizational growth
  • Collaborate with project managers to create and finalize punch lists before system/equipment commissioning
  • Ensure pre-commissioning and commissioning provisions are included in engineering drawings and specifications
  • Verify design and equipment compliance with owner requirements and commissioning plans through reviews of submittals, manuals, reports, and training programs
  • Analyze test results and generate reports to confirm technical specification adherence
  • Initiate commissioning plans and coordinate pre-commissioning activities, including factory acceptance tests
  • Function as the primary liaison among construction, commissioning, and operations teams to foster cooperation and minimize conflicts
  • Direct commissioning procedures and lead a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support personnel
  • Oversee inspection processes to guarantee timely delivery that meets customer expectations and specifications
  • Conduct thorough system quality control inspections and maintain detailed punch lists.
  • Address and resolve site commissioning issues promptly
  • Monitor plant operations and offer guidance to the operations team as needed
  • Report commissioning, start-up schedule, and progress concerns to the project manager
  • Maintain an organized documentation system for all commissioning reports and ensure daily updates
  • Report technical deviations through non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Contribute to the development of project workforce estimates and system commissioning schedules
  • Organize vendor requirements and coordinate specialized equipment schedules
  • Formulate action plans to bridge any gaps in the commissioning schedule or plan
  • Manage commissioning site visits, evaluation of new and existing sites
  • Ensure the highest level of environmental health and safety is incorporated in all electrical engineering and design aspects of ENGIE’s renewable energy generation projects

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field of study

  • A minimum of seven (7) years professional electrical engineering experience with a focus on plant commissioning or commissioning of utility scale Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage projects. NFPA 70Ecertification course and OSHA
  • Clear understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures
  • Expertise in advanced Inverter commissioning, including operation, communication, troubleshooting, and relevant manufacturer training or certification
  • Proficiency with medium voltage AC collection systems and High Voltage substation design principles
  • Proficiency with Medium Voltage Transformers and other Renewable Energy Balance of System (BOS) Advanced Construction, structural, electrical single-line, three-line drawings markups, red-lines, and RFIs
  • In-depth knowledge of Utility and Interconnection requirements and Equipment, including Substation and points of interconnection (POI)
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical documentation, including system and equipment plans, specifications, and manuals
  • Familiarization with ERCOT and other Independent System Operators (ISO) New Generator Commissioning Requirements

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy and will require regular travel to project sites
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Utility Plant Operator I

What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator I (UPO I) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, mobile equipment, and other industrial equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO I involves the safe operation of the plant's equipment. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring equipment status, checking for leaks or abnormalities. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping tasks, and completing logs at the end of rounds and shift. Assisting with weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts.

We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO I may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment located at the Hospital and West Campus.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of two (2) years industrial plant,  process plant, shipboard power & propulsion or power plant experience operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors or similar experience

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis

As our FP&A Advisor, you will be instrumental in driving financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting for ENGIE North America’s expanding portfolios. In this role, you will work closely with the Flexible Generation Global Business Unit (FGBU), Asset Management, Operations, Partnership teams, and the Global Energy Management Services (GEMS) team to develop a deep understanding of operational profitability drivers, risks, and liquidity management.   • Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets, re-forecasts, and medium-term business plans. Partner with GBU Finance Business Partner to present financial forecasts to management
  • Collaborate with Partnership Management team to prepare and present partnership financial and operational forecasts to external partners
  • Ensure reporting accuracy by partnering with accounting and IT, including data mapping and creating new reporting structures
  • Engage across the organization to maintain a high level of business understanding, developing, validating, and communicating best estimates and early warnings
  • Analyze monthly income statement variances versus budget, recent reforecast, and prior year, providing analytical commentaries and recommending corrective actions
  • Provide operating margin variance analysis, focusing on drivers of the income statement such as energy volumes, prices, hedging activities, and inventory costs

As our FP&A Senior Analyst, you will play a critical role in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting for ENGIE North America’s growing portfolio.   • Actively contribute to the development of annual budgets, re-forecasts, and medium-term business plans (MTP), ensuring alignment with ENGIE and partner guidelines.
  • Prepare and participate in partnership Board meetings, providing supporting materials under the guidance of the Flexible Generation Finance Business Partner (FBP), FP&A Director, and FP&A VP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of Flexible Generation GBU and Network's budget and MTP data into reporting systems, producing comprehensive management analysis of P&L and Cash-Flow Statement components.

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree, in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in business financial analysis, financial reporting or accounting
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and are proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP solutions (S4, SAC, BFC, Fiori), and Power BI
  • You hold solid project management skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines with accuracy and ensuring cross-organizational coordination.

The Project Development Advisor will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the market. In this role you will support the development of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition.   • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in CAISO, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions

What You’ll Bring

  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements
  • Ability to manage a large workload across a large portfolio, while prioritizing tasks and effectively managing competing deadlines

Maintain site equipment to the highest standards for availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability. Use work planning skills, schedule activities, and follow up to ensure work conformance. Conduct routine inspections, prepare oil analysis samples, and use safety tools and personal protective equipment (PPE). Manage on-site work coordination among contractors and vendors, support technology upgrades, and maintain cleanliness. Comply with contractual and legal obligations impacting plant operation. Provide equipment operation training to contractors and other site employees. Consistently apply Job Safety Plan techniques, hazard controls, and permits to work (LOTO) when addressing plant abnormalities and equipment failures. Utilize computerized Work Order, Purchase Requisition, and Receiving software.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors or Equivalent Military or Trade school
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Utility scale power plants, Sub-station POI, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance. Renewables Solar and BESS construction experience or commissioning power plants a plus
  • HV Experience. Trades qualifications and certifications acceptable: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician)
  • Obtain AVO certification or equivalent as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Be proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages up to 70% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Ability to travel nationally at short notice and work for periods of time remote from your home to support our operational assets
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $32.69 - $48.76 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
