Purpose of the job: 

To support the planning and safe delivery of maintenance and engineering activities to ensure there are no adverse impacts on the gas storage assets, whilst maintaining the reliability and availability of the facility within agreed budget. To define and implement innovative maintenance and engineering processes that deliver the lowest OPEX & CAPEX cost without compromising safety, reliability and availability – taking into account any commercial and/or operational constraints. Provide direction and leadership to staff in the Engineering Team, communicating on business and departmental objectives to ensure that staff work productively with a clear purpose to meet their objectives. Coach, mentor and develop staff to improve their skills, promoting a culture of collaboration and an environment where all staff are empowered to innovate. Operate as a member of the Site Management Team – implementing Corporate Strategies, help deliver on business results and contribute to the decision making processes for Storengy UK.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement the Storengy UK Safety Management System as defined in the COMAH Operational Safety Report. Ensure compliance with all applicable Regulatory and Statutory requirements.
  • Operate as the Site Main Controller, as defined in the on-site Emergency Plan, for the Gas Plant in the event of an incident.
  • Ensure the members of the Engineering Team understand their SHEQ responsibilities and have the necessary qualifications, training, competence and experience to carry out their duties in a safe and compliance manner.
  • Ensure Contractors carrying out engineering work on the gas storage assets are suitably qualified, competent and experienced to carry out their duties in a safe and compliance manner.
  • Drive improvements in Process Safety across site. Leads on investigations into gas storage asset incidents / accidents in accordance with the Storengy UK procedure.
  • Manage the activities and work load of the Engineering Team – being accountable for overall system health of the gas storage assets.
  • Support the maintenance strategy for all gas storage assets. Ensure data within the maintenance management system is accurate, complete and aligned with the maintenance plan.
  • Responsible for defining spares policy and spares holding for all gas storage assets – owner of the gas storage asset and spares register.
  • Supporting the maintenance contract specifications and contract delivery, value for money, quality, making recommendations for improvements following contract review.
  • Ensure maintenance and engineering policies are implemented across all the gas storage assets, including asset integrity management. Lead on Continuous Improvement for Maintenance & Engineering Systems.
  • Regularly review the maintenance programme with key stakeholders to ensure the Commercial Team is aware of any equipment outages that will affect availability and/or deliverability.
  • Review, update and approve procedures and site engineering standard based on feedback, audits, regulatory requirements and best practice both internally within Storengy, but also across the wider industry.
  • Consider and implement systems for improving the performance / efficiency / availability of the assets through engineering solutions or improvements via the effective delivery of CAPEX projects in the management of maintenance in order to achieve best practice.
  • Understand and follow the Management of Change (MoC) process – taking the lead of changes to any gas storage assets.
  • Act as Gas Plant Duty Manager as required.
  • Exemplify the Engie Leadership Model and embed its principles within the Engineering Team – leading by example.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all direct reports within the Engineering Team, monitoring progress of personal objectives in accordance with the Storengy UK Appraisal Process. Provide Team Leadership.
  • Develop and monitor training and development plans for the Engineering Team, managing competency assessments for both new and existing members of the teams, looking to up-skill team members where possible.
  • Plan staffing levels within the Engineering Team, working with HR to effectively recruit, select and induct new team members. Help deliver the Storengy UK Vision & Strategy.
  • Facilitate and actively encourage the flow of communication within the Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams. Seeks regular feedback from all sources in order to drive through safety and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate maintenance and engineering activities through prioritising and delegating appropriately. Carry out safety audits and acceptance evaluations of new equipment or processes.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Operations and Finance Team, forecast annual budget requirements for the gas storage asset maintenance. Monitor spend against budget, and define ways to avoid overspend.
  • Ensure performance data for gas storage assets is monitored and reported on for operational performance through an agreed set of performance measures reported monthly, and use the data to define actions to improve the reliability/availability.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience in major accident hazard process plants. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a managerial position.
  • Adopts a consistent approach, checks the quality of work and meets deadlines.
  • Adapts human and material resources to meet demand.
  • Excellent overall awareness of workplace SHEQ and COMAH Regulatory requirements.
  • Takes initiative in problem solving / fault finding, generating solutions.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Able to clearly and effectively communicate to all levels within the Storengy and Engie organisation and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Has the necessary people management skills to embed trust, drive motivation, appropriate delegation, credibility and respect.

Relevant Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline - Essential
  • Specific technical training related to Oil & Gas Assets - Essential

ENGIE is looking to expand its European renewable gas production to 10 TWh by 2030.  The UK will pay a pivotal role in achieving this goal.  To support our ambitions, we are looking to grow our UK portfolio from our current 4 sites to around 20 (AD) gas-to-grid facilities.  We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Feedstock Manager to join our team and drive our expansion plans.

 

Role

The Feedstock Manager will oversee feedstock suppliers for ENGIE's new agricultural-based anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities in the UK. Based in the North of England, the candidate will join a seasoned renewable energy team.

 

The primary responsibility is to manage relationships with identified arable, livestock, and commercial waste feedstock providers for prospective development sites. Acting as the main point of contact for these suppliers, the role involves maintaining ongoing relationships and reporting to the operations team, leveraging existing feedstock and operational expertise within the business.

 

The role will be assigned to our Leeds office, with significant  travel across Yorkshire and the North East  On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify feedstock sources and opportunities for AD projects.
  • Organise, plan and schedule feedstock deliveries across the portfolio of sites, ensuring they arrive on time and to expected specification.
  • Develop and manage a strategy for digestate management and disposal for all sites.
  • Feedstock contract management e.g. negotiations/reviews.
  • Source feedstock for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Feedstock sampling and inspection regimes.
  • Maintain a testing and monitoring regime on new and existing feedstock lines.
  • Cultivate leads and track them through to completion.
  • Visit new and existing suppliers and develop / maintain relationships.
  • Input into the feedstock contract development and conduct negotiations on behalf of the company to get the best value.
  • Develop and manage a strategy for digestate management and disposal for all sites.
  • Track feedstock usage and expenditure and report back to site managers and directors.
  • Compile feedstock performance data and KPI reporting especially for Ofgem reporting.
  • Perform regular site visits and build strong working relationships with site managers to understand their site processes and requirements.
  • Assist with site audits relating to feedstock and sustainability ensuring feedstock ration will meet OFGEM requirements for a successful Green Gas Support Scheme submission.
  • Investigate and develop a monetarised disposal route if practicable.
  • Assist with training and understanding for site staff of feedstock usage and quality.
  • Attend trade/industry shows to increase brand awareness and create new opportunities.
  • R&D in to new feedstocks and digestate handling

Job Purpose

The individual will be responsible for managing overdue debt through the disconnections process and both internal and external legal processes. This role will oversee the Recoveries function for both Industrial & Commercial (I&C) and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) within the Energy Supply Division.

 

The successful candidate will provide direction, management, and continuous development for the Recoveries team, driving improvements in departmental efficiency and process development while minimising the cost to serve.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the internal Recoveries team, ensuring efficient collection of outstanding debts, including management of the Warrant, Debt Collection Agency (DCA), and Legal processes and relationships.
  • Identify and enhance existing recovery strategies, ensuring alignment with business and industry standards, and implement new procedures where deficiencies are identified to reduce costs.
  • Manage relationships with external recovery agencies.
  • Liaise with the internal legal team and external solicitors regarding claims and queries.
  • Support internal stakeholders with queries and escalations requiring Recoveries input.
  • Provide timely reports on recovery activities, debt, and cash collections.
  • Assist and liaise with customers and their representatives to expedite the claim process and recover outstanding debts or achieve settlements where appropriate.
  • Review settlements, payment plans, and write-offs in a timely manner, authorising actions within set delegations.
  • Maintain the Legal tracker and manage the team's tickets (queries) within the delegations of authority.
  • Control and manage expenditure related to external legal and disconnection processes.
  • Validate and sign off Disconnection and External Legal Costs invoices in line with Delegations of Authority (DLAs).
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports, setting objectives and completing performance reviews.
  • Implement and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at both team and individual levels, monitoring performance.
  • Drive the training and development of the Recoveries team.
  • Attend monthly team meetings and present to the wider Collections Team to ensure awareness of the Recoveries team processes and initiatives.
  • Oversee the insolvency process, including contacting insolvency practitioners and informing the business of new insolvencies.
  • Manage the write-off process related to insolvencies and dissolutions.
  • Oversee the management of the full Detrimental Information process.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of gas and electricity industry processes across SME and I&C.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to operate at all stakeholder levels.

About the Role

To provide support to the Origination Sales Team including analysis, understanding of data and customers, quote preparation, influence decision making through high quality analysis, support contract operation (in particular smooth operation of the billing system via data preparation/handling), the construction and maintenance of internal systems.

What You Can Expect
As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you will support the development and implementation for the Health & Safety (H&S) Management System across ENGIE North America. Your primary focus will be partnering with Business Entities and Operating Companies to foster an organizational culture that prioritizes a safe and injury-free working environment.

 

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Support the development of strategic H&S plan with leadership, addressing various working environments, including operational wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power generation, energy distribution plants, and new special projects
  • Manage H&S databases, provide statistical reports, and track performance and progress of action plans, programs, and processes
  • Review H&S data trends to ensure safety campaigns and messaging support a zero-injury environment
  • Support onsite safety audits, training, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • Research new or revised OSHA (US) / OH&S Act (Canada) regulatory requirements. Anticipates changes and updates the process, policy and procedures as required with follow on training for effective implementation

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate's Degree in Safety Management or Business (or equivalent Military or Trade school experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial and industrial construction environments.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910/1926 and OH&S Act (Canada) regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including data analysis, complex formula creation, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, public speaking, facilitation, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to produce error-free documents, presentations, and reports with impeccable grammar and punctuation.
  • Proficient in database management, Pareto analyses, and designing executive-level dashboard/graphical displays.
  • Ability to travel independently across the US and Canada up to 50% of the time

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy 
  • Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 50% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record for rental cars through ENGIE
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 75% work indoors and 25% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather condition

 

 

Compensation
Salary Range: $61,400 – $94,070 USD annually 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. 

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

About the Role

Are you passionate about safety and eager to make a difference? Storengy Stublach Gas Storage Plant in the heart of Cheshire is the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK.  We are seeking a dedicated SHE Co-Ordinator to join our team.

 

In this role, you will champion safety standards across our Stublach Site and support the SHEQ Manager in driving continuous improvement in SHE performance. Your efforts will help us maintain high safety standards and ensure a safe working environment for all.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily SHE reviews of work activities across the Stublach Site.
  • Attend daily plant coordination meetings to ensure effective communication regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) between Operations and Projects teams.
  • Deliver and coordinate SHE training for Storengy UK staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Serve as the focal point for all SHE event reporting and ensure all events are logged in the SHEQ digital management system.
  • Compile weekly and monthly SHE statistics for the Storengy SA group.
  • Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and Safety Bulletins on SHE themes.
  • Review internal and contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements from a SHE perspective.
  • Ensure PPE stock levels are maintained and issued as required.
  • Monitor compliance with the Managers Site Visits schedule and site audit programme.
  • Conduct SHEQ technical reviews of contractor pre-qualification responses and attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Provide SHE input during routine Operations/Maintenance team meetings.
  • Maintain waste management records and monitor site recycling and waste segregation.
  • Contribute to safety days and initiatives, promoting ‘One Safety’ and ‘Safety Essentials’ programmes.
  • Assist the SHEQ Manager with Safety Management System (SMS) implementation, including procedure review and document control.

 

Skills and Experience

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a SHE function in a similar industry.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of relevant UK SHE legislation, standards, and practices (e.g., COMAH, MHASWA, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH).
  • Ability to apply rules and safety procedures during activities and reviews.
  • Training development and delivery skills in safety, occupational health, and environmental topics.
  • Capability to support incident investigations and identify root causes.
  • Demonstrate high standards in SHE performance and behaviours on site.

 

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety (or working towards).

What You Can Expect
As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health and Safety programs for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, Delivery team and partnering with other Business Entities and Operating Companies’ and Health and Safety (H&S) staff to influence an organizational culture that leads to an injury free working environment. Daily you will provide support through engaging with staff, leadership, and Contractor Partners. You will be involved in incident reviews, review safety trends and provide tracking, providing training and guidance and reviewing/updating policy and procedure. You will report to the Health, Safety, and Environment Dept(HSE) and assist in development and implementation of a H&S Management System that encompasses standards of excellence, programs, policies, procedures and processes for ENGIE North America.

 

  • Manage H&S databases and provides required monthly statistical reports to ENGIE NA Business Unit (BU) corporate.  Tracks the performance and progress of ENGIE Renewables and Services action plans, programs and processes
  • Conduct regular onsite safety support, training, guidance, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • Help lead all serious incident investigations that result in a medical treated injuries and lost time accident.  Applies Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools when conducting investigations to determine causal factors.  Identifies countermeasures to prevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standard
  • Provide guidance and acts as a role model for Renewables H&S full time professionals, plant managers, front line supervisors and general foremen in the effective implementation of the 4Ps
  • Design the ENA H&S Management System in accordance with the ISO 18001 standard. Ensures conformance to the standard results in compliance to the regulation. Researches new or revised OSHA (US) / OH&S Act (Canada) regulatory requirements.  Anticipates changes and updates the 4Ps as required with follow on training for effective implementation
  • Validate safety requirements of third-party H&S auditors, consultants and contractors
  • Implement a communication strategy that promotes leadership engagement between management, front line supervisors, foremen, technician / craft personnel and contractors to create a culture where H&S is a principle and not a priority
  • Implement an observation program that focuses on pre-job/task activities.  Ensures the Job Safety Plan process permeates down to the granularity of the specific task assigned. Support the implementation of Risk Assessments. 
  • Benchmark the current state of safety, O&M service and construction-oriented safe work procedures against a “Best in Class” standard.  Orchestrates plans to close identified gaps in coordination with ENGIE NA H&S staff
  • Coordinate gap analysis reviews on contractor safety plans and procedures to assure their standard is equal or more stringent than ENGIE NA’s safety criteria as stipulated in the procurement Terms & Conditions 


What You’ll Bring

  • Associates Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or Business, certifications in OSHA Safety and Certified Safety Professional or other recognized BCSP Certifications. 
  • A minimum ten (10) years’ Safety Management; with five (5) of those years’ experience in Renewable Energy and an Industrial setting. 
  • Subject matter expert in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910 / 1926 
  • You have experience with root cause failure analysis (RCFA) tools and their application for recordable events. You are adept at leading serious incident investigations into High Potential (HiPo) incidents, including those resulting in a lost time accident
  • Experience with behavioral science and the psychology behind influencing change
  • Experience in commercial and industrial construction environments
  • You have experience working in environments with  thermal power generation and energy distribution plants, new construction solar and battery storage sites, facility O&M management, and the HVAC mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contractors in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) construction fields
  • You feel confident in supporting H&S database management and provides required monthly statistical reports to ES NorAm Business Unit (BU) corporate. 
  • As our Senior Health and Safety Advisor you will conduct regular onsite training, supervision, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • You can identify countermeasures to prevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standard
  • Worked in an environment you have experience reviewing contractor safety plans and procedures to assure their standard is equal or more stringent than ES NorAm’s safety criteria as stipulated in the procurement Terms & Conditions
  • Must be well versed in conflict resolution, problem solving, communication and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to operating assets and active construction projects. 
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite

Compensation

The purpose of the role is to develop, negotiate and implement contracts to purchase electricity and gas exported to the Grid by generators, together with embedded benefits and any associated green certificates.

 

ENGIE are recruiting for an Energy and Renewables Originator based in Leeds. This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the delivery of budget export margins on an individual basis within the Power Purchase team; sign New Business and renew existing business.

  • Business Development – Establish contact and build relationship with potential new business partners including banks, financiers, consultants, lawyers or direct customers.
  • Account Management - maintain and develop relationships with existing customers. Organise and attend events and meetings.
  • Build Portfolio – Origination of Power, Gas and Renewable Certificates. Propose PPA deals to internal stakeholders to attain sanction according to internal processes. Follow internal governance (including writing investment proposals) and present proposals to UK and European board level.
  • Contract Development and Legal Review - Liaise with ENGIE Legal department to tailor customer-specific contracts and review existing terms and conditions to maintain ENGIE’s commercial interests.
  • Investment Appraisal – build financial models to forecast expected margins and spend levels for proposed contracts.
  • Process Improvement – Ensure internal processes are efficient and fit for purpose.
  • Product Development - Provide intelligence for and assist the Product Development Team in researching and developing a range of market-leading Export Products, PPAs and Corporate PPAs.
  • Risk Management – Adhere to, and assist with the creation of, Risk Policy. Adherence to internal processes and risk frameworks.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in Sales and/or deal negotiation
  • Experience in Energy industry · Experience of contract development
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment
  • Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, preferable
  • Ability to negotiate complex long-term contracts, often within multiparty scenarios.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of UK Energy wholesale and Retail markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of all applicable current and future legislation impacting the renewable energy market.
  • Appreciation of key drivers and contract requirements for renewable generation developers, lawyers, banks and equity investors.
  • Ability to identify and reconcile business and customer needs in order to build bespoke products and develop current PPA product suit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to present high value contract opportunities to the Senior Management team.
