About the Role
Are you passionate about safety and eager to make a difference? Storengy Stublach Gas Storage Plant in the heart of Cheshire is the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK. We are seeking a dedicated SHE Co-Ordinator to join our team.
In this role, you will champion safety standards across our Stublach Site and support the SHEQ Manager in driving continuous improvement in SHE performance. Your efforts will help us maintain high safety standards and ensure a safe working environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily SHE reviews of work activities across the Stublach Site.
- Attend daily plant coordination meetings to ensure effective communication regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) between Operations and Projects teams.
- Deliver and coordinate SHE training for Storengy UK staff, contractors, and visitors.
- Serve as the focal point for all SHE event reporting and ensure all events are logged in the SHEQ digital management system.
- Compile weekly and monthly SHE statistics for the Storengy SA group.
- Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and Safety Bulletins on SHE themes.
- Review internal and contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements from a SHE perspective.
- Ensure PPE stock levels are maintained and issued as required.
- Monitor compliance with the Managers Site Visits schedule and site audit programme.
- Conduct SHEQ technical reviews of contractor pre-qualification responses and attend pre-construction meetings.
- Provide SHE input during routine Operations/Maintenance team meetings.
- Maintain waste management records and monitor site recycling and waste segregation.
- Contribute to safety days and initiatives, promoting ‘One Safety’ and ‘Safety Essentials’ programmes.
- Assist the SHEQ Manager with Safety Management System (SMS) implementation, including procedure review and document control.
Skills and Experience
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a SHE function in a similar industry.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of relevant UK SHE legislation, standards, and practices (e.g., COMAH, MHASWA, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH).
- Ability to apply rules and safety procedures during activities and reviews.
- Training development and delivery skills in safety, occupational health, and environmental topics.
- Capability to support incident investigations and identify root causes.
- Demonstrate high standards in SHE performance and behaviours on site.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety (or working towards).
