What You Can Expect

This Environmental Development and Permitting Intern role is an opportunity to work with a Global Leader in Renewables Development. The Environmental Intern will work to support ENGIE’s Development Pipeline in North America and help to ensure that Projects are following best management practices (BMPs) to minimize environmental impacts and maximize biodiversity value of commercial-scale Renewables Projects.

 

In this role the Intern will support biodiversity studies, surveys, and micro siting efforts to minimize wildlife and wetland impacts, and support the Advisor on compliance obligations, preparing development projects for construction-stage efforts, and support the pursuit of federal and state permits where necessary. The Intern will have the opportunity to coordinate with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Legal, Land Use, and Engineering obligations.

 

  • Complete assigned training and follow all ENGIE safety procedures (9 Life Saving Rules)
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, and site visits to wind and/or solar sites
  • Communicate using email, TEAMS meetings and phone calls
  • Review renewable environmental plans, surveys, and Best Management Practices (BMPs) documentation

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program, or in the 1st or 2nd year of a graduate program, in law, engineering, environmental science, or biology at an accredited college or university

Additional Details

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $27.00 - $34.00 USD hourly

Misión

  • Maximizar la disponibilidad de las instalaciones AT (subestaciones y líneas eléctricas) de ENGIE situadas en la zona centro sur de España, así como su vida útil

Funciones

  1. Gestionar de forma adecuada y eficiente los contratos de operación y mantenimiento de las subestaciones eléctricas de todo el porfolio de proyectos, tanto eólicos, fotovoltaicos como hidroeléctricos, gestionados por ENGIE en la zona Sur de Zaragoza, Logroño y alrededores.
  2. Participación en la definición del presupuesto operativo de los activos incluidos en su alcance (corto, medio y largo plazo).
  3. Participación en la negociación de contratos de operación y mantenimiento.
  4. Implementar los procedimientos de operación y mantenimiento locales siguiendo las guías maestras marcadas por el Grupo ENGIE.
  5. Participar en la determinación de los planes de mantenimiento anuales, trimestrales y quinquenales para cada una de las instalaciones.
  6. Evaluar y revisar los procedimientos de operación y mantenimiento garantizando un proceso de mejora continua.
  7. Coordinar junto con el Centro de Control asignado por ENGIE las operaciones de descargo en las subestaciones.
  8. Seguimiento de las órdenes y los permisos de trabajo en los activos de su perímetro. Desarrollar e implementar planes de acción que garanticen la máxima disponibilidad de los activos.
  9. Analizar la eficacia de las labores de operación y mantenimiento que permitan la mejora de la rentabilidad del negocio a través de la automatización del servicio y la optimización continua de los procesos tanto tecnológicos como organizacionales.
  10. Evaluación de la efectividad o eficiencia de los procesos.
  11. Implementación y cumplimiento de todas las normas medioambientales.
  12. Asegurar la implementación y cumplimiento de las Políticas de Seguridad e higiene, Diversidad, Ciberseguridad y Ética y Cumplimiento, así como de los procedimientos y procesos definidos en la organización.

Requisitos mínimos

  • Al menos 5 años en la realización de tareas de Operación y Mantenimiento de subestaciones eléctricas de alta tensión
  • Bachillerato o grado superior de FP (especialidad electricidad o similar)
  • Conocimiento del modo de realizar descargos en subestaciones y la aplicación de medidas de seguridad (LOTO).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Managing Director, Head of Business Development, and Regional Head of Industrial Development to scale up project development capabilities, for the achievement of ambitious medium-term growth targets, annual revenue and profitability targets
  • Screen and qualify new Public and Non-Public RFIs and RFPs. Analyse the instructions, identify risks and prepare a clear Go/No Go screening as the first step of the Bid Management Process.
  • Lead and manage full spectrum of Business Development process and activities for industrial Energy Efficiency solutions:
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities, directly with internal business teams and through external partners
    • Pre-qualify leads and produce indicative offers within tight timelines

    • Secure projects with the targeted profitability and IRR criteria, and hand over to project team for implementation
  • Screen and develop a go to marketplace strategy and a pipeline of projects which can receive the energy efficiency solutions proposed by the company
  • Qualify and prospect new clients (In accordance with the company’s criteria) for directly negotiated energy efficiency and on-site utilities offers
  • Serve as single contact for preparation of technical, commercial and contractual submissions in collaboration with all services required.
  • Manage and coordinate proposals each day, including technical aspects, from issue of calls for tender documents to bid submission.
  • Manage bid logistics, develop the schedule for the team and setting responsibilities/ expectations for the bid – who does what and when.
  • Manage and seek the necessary approvals for bid submissions
  • Prepare, modify, amend and justify financial model and its inputs for the proposals as necessary

To provide critical analysis and insights to aid in the origination and structuring of new business opportunities within the Australian electricity market:

  • Conduct in-depth market research on supply-demand dynamics, pricing, competitors’ behaviour and regulatory changes to inform commercial strategy with emerging insights
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor market data and support  origination activities
  • Build and update financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, monitor deals performance, and assess risks / returns of different structuring options

About you:

  • Excellent commercial analytical skills, capable of finding a deal amongst lemons.
  • Good storytelling aptitude to distill complex data into coherent narratives. Degree / masters qualified in Economics, actuarial studies, engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience as an Energy market or Trading analyst, preferably within the National Electricity Market.
  • Proven expertise in energy market analysis, including knowledge of electricity market structures, regulations, and market participants
  • Solid commercial acumen within the thermal, hybrid, renewable or storage sector; experience of PPA in BESS, Wind and Solar power stations is advantageous.

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage ENGIE’s highly diversified energy portfolio and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas.

From contact to contracts:

The Origination team is responsible for securing high value structured power, renewable, carbon and environmental transactions, promoting risk management solutions and market access services to wholesale clients and counterparts.

 

The newly created position will suit a commercially savvy energy markets professional, with breadth of experience and knowledge around origination and end-to-end execution of bespoke and complex transactions.

 

The position reports to the Head of Origination, Engie GEMS ANZ. The Origination team works alongside the Trading and Supply teams. It enjoys a hybrid working environment and an inclusive and collaborative approach to doing business together, sharing ideas and knowledge.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and evaluate new business opportunities in the Australian energy markets (power, environmental and carbon sectors) that align with strategic goals and build a strong pipeline of deals
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities, complete thorough due diligence to support transactions and to broaden market access
  • Managing client relationships and facilitate the boarding process of new counterparties.
  • Structure and design innovative solutions for energy and decarbonisation transactions with due consideration for risk
  • Lead contractual negotiations, and oversee their execution, in compliance with legal, regulatory and reporting requirements

 

About you:

  • Excellent commercial management and negotiating skills
  • Degree / masters qualified in Economics, actuarial studies, engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience as a trader, originator or structurer in energy markets, preferably within the National Electricity Market.
  • Proven expertise trading, structuring or dealing in energy market, including a strong knowledge of energy market transaction structures, regulations, and Australian market participants
  • Able to foster collaboration with colleagues across functions and business units in a complex matrix organisation
  • Display respect for and value health, safety, ethical work practices and all applicable policies

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent. 
  • 7-10 years of relevant working experience in HR business partnering/generalist capacity. 
  • Good knowledge of local Labor Code of the Philippines. 
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels while maintaining string ethics and professionalism.
  • Effective change management skills to navigate through constant change.
