What You Can Expect
As our Site Administrator II, you will provide administrative support for the Atlantic-Canadian sites and will sit in the ENGIE West Cape office. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks crucial to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. This includes assisting management with public and employee relations by facilitating and maintaining communications at the required levels and serving as a member of the local safety committee. You will  collect, review and analyze data to prepare reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials, as well as maintaining routine plant operating logs and reports utilizing Excel. 

 

  • You will be responsible for responding to route routine inquiries from external or internal sources with standard correspondence or other messaging. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as asset management, compliance, human resources, and legal departments, you will ensure communication and status updates are received in a timely manner to meet deadlines. 
  • Establish and maintain general administrative activities, including accounts payable, timesheets, and recordkeeping, managing purchase requisitions and orders, overseeing budgets and vendor relationships, and maintaining important documents, logs, plans, and reports. 
  • Other administrative duties include maintaining, updating and retrieving files, forms, inventories, logs, and other documents, receives sorts, and distributes mail and maintaining the general office area.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum education requires a High School diploma with three (3) years’ experience where you have worked with vendor management, accounting, procurement, supply chain, or human resources in an administrative support capacity
  • Must be able to use Outlook, Word, and Excel daily to analyze, communicate, distribute and report data to leadership and external partners 
  • You must have knowledge of administrative and secretarial functions including typing, computer skills, scheduling, communicating correspondence via emails, and utilize telecommunication software and equipment such as MS Teams, fax machines, and printers
  • You must have experience creating reports on a scheduled basis

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires daily attendance at the ENGIE West Cape office 
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips to attend company events and training in one (1) week increments 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle or to drive personal vehicle for company events.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

Compensation
Salary Range:  $30.00 – $38.00 CAD hourly 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect
As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you will support the development and implementation for the Health & Safety (H&S) Management System across ENGIE North America.   • Support the development of strategic H&S plan with leadership, addressing various working environments, including operational wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power generation, energy distribution plants, and new special projects

  • Review H&S data trends to ensure safety campaigns and messaging support a zero-injury environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate's Degree in Safety Management or Business (or equivalent Military or Trade school experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial and industrial construction environments.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910/1926 and OH&S Act (Canada) regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including data analysis, complex formula creation, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, public speaking, facilitation, and presentation communication skills.

What You Can Expect

As the Renewables, SCADA Engineering Advisor, you will manage all aspects of the renewable project Engineering design and commissioning oversight activities for utility-scale renewables projects (wind, solar, and energy storage) throughout the US and Canada and serve as an innovative subject matter expert and leader.

 

Every day in this role you will lead the development of ENGIE North America generation SCADA specifications, including SCADA, PPC, and EMS architecture to be implemented in new project under development process. Additionally, you will be responsible for the SCADA, PV network engineering design drawings reviews and commissioning planning of renewable energy projects (including Wind, Solar PV, and Energy Storage)

 

  • Project Management & Leadership: Oversee engineering design and commissioning for utility-scale renewable projects (wind, solar, energy storage) across the US and Canada. Act as a subject matter expert and leader, collaborating with internal departments and external partners throughout the project lifecycle
  • SCADA Specifications & Design: Develop SCADA, PPC, and EMS architecture for new projects. Review SCADA and PV network engineering design drawings and plan commissioning for renewable energy projects
  • Subject Matter Expertise & Commissioning: Lead as the SCADA and Controls expert, manage assigned projects, provide advice on SCADA options in contracts, and assist in commissioning renewable energy projects, including hands-on work if needed
  • Coordination & Standards: Coordinate the development and oversight of ENGIE Renewable SCADA systems, update standards based on lessons learned, and review design submittals with EPC and owners' engineers. Evaluate communication and metering requirements in Interconnection Agreements
  • System Integration & Cyber Security: Manage SCADA points and controls coordination among various systems and stakeholders including: QSE, Utility, RTO/ISO, substation RTU/IED’s, revenue/check metering, PV/Wind/BESS PPC/EMS and collection system (inverters/PCS, met stations, trackers etc), internal SCADA/IT network and data aggregation systems. Support the implementation of the ENGIE Industrial Control System - Cyber Security framework and manage external engineering firms and subcontractors for project execution

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation and Controls, Electrical is preferred from an ABET- accredited university or comparable field of study, technical knowledge through demonstrated work experience with a solid understanding of Automation & Control, SCADA design for power generation plants, and/or utility systems
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in similar positions, designing and/or commissioning renewable energy projects and producing standards, specifications, documentation, and in the day-to-day interactions with project development and construction teams
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly valued. However, we welcome candidates with equivalent experience or other relevant certifications

He establishes project objectives and procedures pertaining to all civil work, maintains operational liaison with all contractors, direct and monitor construction activities, ensure safety and quality by providing direction to all contractors, subcontractors, labours and suppliers with necessary support from the Construction Manager / EPC team in the head office.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1) Overall responsibility for successfully delivering Civil works to include all Field Engineering, Construction, Commissioning phases and Handover of the Project.
2) Provide timely and accurate civil works related performance on site and status reporting;
3) Responsible for enforcement of Health, Safety and Environmental policy as per Engie’s standard for carrying works.
4) Enforcement of the Project Quality Control Plan during execution.
5) Project progress reporting on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
6) Ensure all material reconciliation.
7) Prepare the Site Execution planning.
8) Warrant Quality recording of the Project documentation in Sharepoint and / or in other Project Datarooms as required.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

 

Pre-requisites:
 Bachelor's in Civil engineering
 6 to 12 years of relevant work experience in the site management;
 Proven track record of successfully managing civil works ideally in the solar industry, but could also be in the renewable or conventional energy industry;
 Available for local and international travels

Purpose of the Job:

Set up and animate the Integrated Quality Management System in accordance with company policy. Management of complete QA/QC of all equipment from suppliers and field quality on site and ensure project construction as per the Quality standards and requirement.

 

Reporting lines

QA/QC Manager reports to Head-Projects/Construction.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Implementation of Quality Management System.
  • Prepare a standarised QA/QC plan and customise the same for each project.
  • Prepare all Quality Procedures and Checklists.
  • Evaluate contractors / vendors w.r.t. quality requirements & compliances during selection.
  • Responsible for all QA/QC of equipment / material / contracts from suppliers and services. Co-ordinate and Conduct factory inspections of all material/ equipment purchased and raise the deviations if any, submit duly signed reports to HO-QHSE for further review & handover to customer.
  • Review design and engineering documents and provide inputs related to Quality.
  • Responsible for complete QA/QC management on site.
  • Preparation and implementation of QCPs for material and services as per Group guidelines.
  • Ensure that all contractors and workmen are provided with necessary training on site.
  • Ensure all Quality procedures and protocols and systems are strictly implemented on site.
  • Ensure all Quality check-lists are part of specifications/contract and implemented on site.
  • Monitor the work execution as per SOPs, WI's, QAPs, etc. and take necessary steps/ actions.
  • Follow up on all Quality related NCRs and ensure timely closure.
  • Compile and distribute weekly, monthly and yearly QA/QC reports/statistics.
  • Work towards the goal of high-quality site.
  • Monitor quality implementations through periodic site inspections, review meetings and release reports stakeholders.
  • In case of any non-conformity / deviation, lead RCA of the same. Ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide administrative support to all Quality related meetings and events.
  • Liaise with QA/QC country / business unit leaders with regards to QA/QC data and statistics, reporting, etc.
  • Ensure implementation of Quality Management on site.

What you will do:

  • You will contribute to market prospecting by providing consultancy on energy networks as well as on optimal access to them, in the context of identifying new renewable energy projects.
  • You will manage the documentation necessary to obtain access to electrical networks for new development projects, from project initiation to the completion of the execution phase (COD), and, if necessary, you will attend the meetings with state authorities.

  • You will continuously monitor the impact of the evolving economic, political, regulatory and technological context on investments and projects of TSO (Transmission System Operator)/ DSO (Distribution System Operator).
  • You will collaborate with DSO, TSO, and stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle for connection/ access to the network: from the authorization and access stage to the construction completion stage.
  • You will manage the relationship with internal or external consultants on topics such as: solution analysis, planning and authorization of transformer stations, transformers, transfer stations, and aspects related to cable routes, technical evaluation, and preparation of the work register.
  • You will support the project team by analysing risks and defining the necessary preventive/ corrective actions for network access, in order to meet project deadlines.
  • You will obtain approvals from DSO and TSO for network access, in accordance with the company's strategy.
  • You will provide technical and commercial analyses regarding offers and contracts related to network connection works.
