What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Long Draw Solar Site located near Gail, TX.  
Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. 

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED and work experience totaling four (4) in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance Or a two (2) year diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/DC current, electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors 
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor


Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

 

Compensation
Salary Range:  $34.20 - $45.58 USD hourly 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

As Project Manager, you are responsible for the overall management of wind energy construction project.

You plan, coordinate multidisciplinary teams involved in various aspects of the project and supervise all stages, from initial study to operational service of installations.

Additionally, you ensure compliance with all safety aspects, environmental and quality standards, financial profitability, timelines, and stakeholders’ satisfaction to ensure project goals are met.

 

 

  • You are the primary point of contact and maintain relationship within the scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project.
  • You oversee the supervision of total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the contract, design, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with municipalities, local partners, landowners, and contractors.
  • You are responsible for planning, coordination, and supervision of all onsite functions (scheduling, daily/weekly goal setting, engineering, material control, administrative staff in accounting and purchasing).
  • You provide technical assistance including the interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment.

You work closely with various other departments, such as Legal, Insurance, Procurement, etc., as well as within Renewable Energy Belgium, including the Engineering team, Maintenance team, Health & Safety team, Asset management team etc.

YOUR PROFILE as Project Manager

 

  • Master’s degree in engineering with an interest in various technical fields (construction, electricity, etc.)
  • Experience in the energy/renewable sector more specifically in operational and technical project management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in either French/ Dutch with a working knowledge of the other and of English.

  • Prior experience  in developing renewable projects in the UK, with specific experience in originating greenfield Renewable and BESS projects.
  • Experience in identifying and acquiring land, optimizing grid connections, conducting environmental assessments, and applying for planning consents.
  • Experience in originating corporate PPAs and participating in CFD auctions.
  • Knowledge of EPC contracting structures and tendering processes.
  • Understanding of capital and O&M costs linked to PV, onshore wind, and batteries.
  • Conversant with investment principles and project financing.
  • Financial modelling experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project.
  • UK Driver's Licence and ability to travel nationally and to the EU.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good understanding of Route-to-Market options, including CFDs and corporate PPAs for renewable projects.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Engineer – Development to join our UK Renewables team. In this role, you will support the development and construction of onshore wind and solar projects in the UK and Ireland.   • Provide internal engineering support to Development & Pre-Construction groups, and assist with procurement processes for long lead materials
  • Stay updated on new technologies, regulatory conditions, and industry best practices, with up to 20% travel for site assessments and construction meetings and activities

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field of study
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience and proven knowledge in high voltage (138kV and above) electrical substation engineering and design field is required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI) and FERC and NERC requirements for electric substation reliability
  • Extensive knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals and three phase power systems
  • Proficiency in engineering application software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit studies
  • Experience in protective relay coordination and settings for HV and EHV transmission systems and familiarity with Schweitzer and General Electric relay and communication equipment
  • Knowledge of transmission line protection schemes (step-distance, POTT, DCB, DUTT) and electrical systems analysis software (ASPEN, ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, and PSLF)
  • Must be able to communicate complex technical subject matter information to a wide range of audiences verbally and in written communication

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Asset Management: Lead the team in negotiating and amending contracts (including Power Purchase (PPA), landowners (LTSA), Asset Management service agreements) to improve performance and mitigate risks. Oversee technical aspects and coordinate with operations teams. Develop prudent project budgets, ensure compliance with market rules, lead initiatives to improve performance and protect long-term value, and maintain strong relationships with ENGIE’s Global Energy Management and Supply entities
  • Leadership: Provide direction, promote an inclusive culture, build strong relationships, offer constructive feedback, and ensure prioritization for work-life balance
  • Organization: Deploy new processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and value creation. Leverage internal expertise across departments to deliver high-quality results. What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field of study
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry, including plant operations and economics
  • Strong project management skills for cross-organizational coordination and business process improvement, with advanced analytical and Excel skills
  • Proved leadership in P&L and asset management, particularly in renewables, attention to detail and a proactive approach to value creation

About the role

 

We are seeking a Senior Asset Manager to oversee the strategic and commercial operation of our Renewable Generation and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets in the UK and Ireland. This role involves managing both existing and future assets, ensuring they operate to prescribed technical, quality, and safety standards to achieve business objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop implement and maintain suitable operations and maintenance strategies, policies and procedures for both existing and proposed renewable generation

    assets whose location may be geographically remote.

  • Manage the short term and long-term performance and activities of the renewable generation assets so as to maximise profit contribution

  • Manage and optimise the service provided under any LTMA/LTSA agreements for each type of renewable and BESS technology.
  • Meet consistently Health and Safety, Environmental, Production and Financial Targets and Improvement Plans.
  • Manage the businesses to comply with Legislative, Regulatory and Company policies, procedures and standards
  • Implement appropriate initiatives to improve technical, health, safety and environmental performance.
  • Technical risks are managed in accordance with good operating practice
  •  Ensure effective plant optimisation and implementation of approved hedging strategy.
  • Interface with the Commercial team to extract maximum value from the market/plant characteristics.

Role Overview:

As an Asset Management Analyst II, you will support our Asset Management team in overseeing a portfolio of renewable generation assets, including utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. The Asset Management Analyst II will manage several assets, potentially across different ISOs and technologies. This role requires a proactive problem solver with good analytical and organizational skills, with a special focus on process improvement and efficiencies in Asset Management.

 

Every day in this role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Analyze and Optimize P&L: Understand main drivers (operational, commercial, market) of project P&L, propose and implement action plans for optimization, and develop gross margin assumptions for annual business plans
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Analyze operational and financial performance data from wind, solar, and battery storage assets, identify trends and optimization opportunities, and prepare regular reports on asset performance and financial metrics
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Operations, Engineering, and other teams to track KPIs, ensure compliance with performance benchmarks, and support asset optimization through interaction with ENGIE Trading/Energy Management
  • Contract and Relationship Management: Manage contracts (Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), Asset Management Agreements (AMAs), Operations and Maintenance Agreements (OMAs), Landowner Agreements), handle negotiations, invoicing, and payments, and ensure assets operate within compliance requirements
  • Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Support: Focus on process improvement and efficiencies in Asset Management, support other Asset Managers, and collaborate with various teams (Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, Origination) to align on asset performance and goals

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring
