What You Can Expect

Under the supervision of the ENGIE Energy Marketing North America Risk Director, as a Middle-Office Manager-Risk & Finance, you will manage all aspects of daily MtM (Mark-to-Market) reporting, Profit & Loss (P&L) validation, and sign-off monitoring. You will ensure the consistent and accurate publication of daily Risk & Performance Reports, oversee book structure management across multiple legal entities, and maintain strict adherence to trader risk mandates. By estimating and modeling various reserves (credit, liquidity, inception, model, intermittency, shape, volume), validating forward/settlement curves, and creating data-driven reports, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall financial performance and risk management of the organization. You will lead a team of professionals tasked with providing robust Middle-Office support and enhancing reporting capabilities through tools like Power BI.

 

  • Daily MtM (Mark-to-Market) Reporting
    • Oversee the computation and validation of daily MtM values for all trading books and products
    • Ensure timely distribution and accuracy of MtM figures to key stakeholders
  • P&L Validation, Attribution, and Sign-Off
    • Validate daily P&L results and provide clear explanations by desk, KPI, and book
    • Monitor P&L sign-off, ensuring discrepancies are thoroughly investigated and resolved
  • Risk & Performance Reporting
    • Manage the publication of Daily Risk & Performance Reports, maintaining high data quality and consistency
    • Develop KPIs and dashboards using tools like Microsoft Power BI to enhance visibility into operational and financial performance
  • Book Structure Management (Multi-Legal Entity)
    • Coordinate and maintain book structures across multiple legal entities, ensuring all trades are accurately captured
    • Collaborate with Front Office, Back Office, and Accounting teams to keep book hierarchies aligned with organizational requirements
  • Trader Risk Mandate & Reserve Calculations
    • Enforce trader risk mandates, monitoring limit usage and escalating breaches when necessary
    • Estimate, model, and compute various reserves, including credit, liquidity, inception, model, intermittency, shape, and volume reserves
  • Forward and Settlement Curves Validation (Price Control)
    • Validate and benchmark forward and settlement curves, ensuring consistency with market data
    • Oversee exotic parameters such as hourly shape factors, scalar ratios, and B/A spreads for liquidity reserves
  • Process Automation & Reporting Improvements
    • Lead initiatives to automate Middle-Office processes, improving the accuracy and efficiency of data capture and reporting
    • Collaborate with IT to implement and maintain Power BI reports, ensuring user-friendly interfaces and reliable data sources
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Front Office, Credit, Market Risk, and Operational Risk teams to manage exceptions and align on valuation methodologies
    • Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Accounting to maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Manage a team of Middle-Office professionals, providing mentoring, training, and development opportunities
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying areas to enhance processes and reduce operational risk
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on controls related to MtM, P&L, and reserve calculations
    • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Middle-Office environment within the energy or commodities sector (Gas and Power)
  • Proven track record in managing MtM reporting, P&L analysis, and risk metrics (e.g., VaR, stress testing)
  • Proficient in ETRM systems (e.g., FIS Aligne) and advanced Excel.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and data visualization
  • Strong understanding of forward curve validation, price control processes, and exotic parameter management (shape factors, scalars)
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with Front Office, Back Office, IT, and senior management
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with the ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects concurrently

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; minimum 3 days working in the office and 2 days working from home

Compensation

Salary Range: $131,000 – $174,600 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

As a Power Congestion Analyst II, you will report to Director Congestion Trading and provide quantitative and fundamental analytics for US electricity markets to improve grid modeling and congestion analysis. Every day, you will perform cost modeling by using DAYZER to forecast nodal electricity price components and analyze weather patterns and fuel prices to predict the base electricity prices.

 

  • Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and Pennsylvania New Jersey Maryland Interconnection (PJM) Independent System Operator (ISO) congestion analysis
  • Execute production cost models (Dayzer preferred) by systematically analyzing and updating the inputs as appropriate
  • Develop and execute appropriate scenario studies pertinent to the period of study and systematically analyzing the results
  • Develop systematic and repeatable approach to form fundamental views with respect to congestion trading
  • Analyze and determine drivers of Day Ahead and Real Time congestion market outcomes based on macro-fundamentals (supply, demand, renewables) and micro-fundamentals (specific transmission and generation outage impacts, bids, facility limits).
  • Develop and test innovative trade ideas and strategies
  • Identify model gaps by calibrating the model results to market outcomes and determine appropriate solutions
  • Assist with ad-hoc fundamental analyses
  • Participate in ISO meetings as appropriate and assess commercial impacts
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to maintain and improve trade tools
  • Develop and maintain dispatch and flow models, communicating fundamental developments and views to stakeholders
  • Build models to track market fundamentals and regularly benchmark against actualizations

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in which you completed courses in Engineering/Business/Finance or relevant disciplines
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in congestion markets analysis, power plant economics, price forecasting, trading, or a related discipline
  • Six (6) months of experience with production cost modeling, congestion analysis or wholesale electricity market experience in the relevant ISO
  • Experience in ERCOT or PJM ISO congestion market
  • Strong understanding of power grid optimization, powerflow shift factors, line-outage distribution factors and contingency analysis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues
  • Proficient in coding such as Structured Query Language (SQL)/ Python
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques

As a Tax Senior Analyst in Houston office, you will report to Tax Advisor and you will provide federal compliance services for ENGIE’s partnerships, focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Prepare partner K-1 and tax capital account estimates 

Maintain accurate tax fixed asset depreciation schedules that reconcile with accounting records. Apply correct tax depreciation, amortization, and disposition methods. Reconcile tax asset basis to cost segregation studies

Prepare IAS 12 deferred taxes for investment in partnerships

Prepare quarterly 704(b) estimates for Hypothetical Liquidation at Book Value (HLBV)

Reconcile partnership tax allocations estimates to investor model.

Coordinating with other departments to compile, review, and analyze reports necessary for preparation of the partnership tax returns

Research and consult on various partnership tax matters

Maintain clear, thorough documentation with supporting tax research for all tax adjustments and partnership tax basis balance sheets

Maintain active communication with managers, ensure deadlines are met

 

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in finance, accounting or other related disciplines

A minimum of 5 years professional experience

A minimum of 3 years of progressive tax compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting experience

Proficiency in Excel, Word, general ledger software, fixed asset tax software, tax research software and tax provision and tax return software

Strong analytical and technical tax and accounting skills with proficiency in Subchapter K partnership taxation, including the ability to evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements

Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and competing priorities on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

Alteryx, One Source and FAS (Sage Fixed Asset Software) skills are a plus.

What You Can Expect

As our Scheduling Advisor, you will be the primary scheduling expert / resource for project managers of major capital improvement projects for campus energy systems and new business development related to new partnerships with universities or commercial and industrial entities. These energy systems encompass the production and distribution of electricity, chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the distribution of natural gas.

 

Everyday you will support our Major Capital Projects team by delivering accurate and comprehensive schedules, setting standards, and defining the processes used to monitor, update, and analyze schedules to enable successful development and execution.

 

  • For business development projects or acquisitions, this role will coordinate with the Major Projects team composed of contracts managers, project managers, engineering, and project management office.

 

  • For projects at existing partnerships, this role will liaise with the other members of the Capital Projects Team (contracts team, project management team, and engineering team) including, but not limited to, Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Iowa University in Iowa City, IA and Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.

  • You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for project scheduling, assisting Program / Project Managers with analysis and critique of schedules provided by Contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and other contracted parties; include third party provided schedule information in the project schedules to develop integrated master project schedule, from conceptual design, through detailed design, procurement, construction, and start-up/commissioning project stages
  • You will advise Program / Project Managers to understand all project tasks, task durations, and predecessor/successor relationships; support in development of standard sub-schedules as appropriate for groups of activities, such as commissioning
  • You have experience developing comprehensive project schedules for utility and power generation projects, including key milestones, definition of critical path activities, key interfaces with Operations & Maintenance and interfaces with other projects, accounting for any Client restrictions.
  • You will develop and maintain project milestones template(s) for various project sizes to support business development and major capital project opportunities. Develop and maintain project status dashboards to alert teams to potential schedule deviations.
  • You will track historical key performance metrics of past projects and develop lessons learned repository; and drive improvements within the organization to build best in class schedule management function
  • You will standardize the schedule activities and milestones to align with our contracting strategy and utilize our existing and procure platforms to establish executive reports
  • You will review third party schedules for accuracy and gaps, and challenge third party assumptions, and support contracts team through claims process through analysis and review of schedules and activities
  • You will test contractor’s assumptions, or perform staffing density checks or staffing limitation checks to validate schedule durations and ensures resource-leveling supports the project strategy. Likewise, test assumptions / utilize project cost estimates to resource load project schedules
  • You will prepare and present project schedule reports to the VP of Major Capital Projects & IPOS and other senior management.
