What You Can Expect

As the Senior Network Engineer in Houston, Texas, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for creating, delivering, and managing enterprise IT and OT networking solutions for the North America  Region. Every day, you will report to the IT Network Operations Manager coordinating with ENGIE’s global infrastructure team to ensure enterprise networking standards are deployed in the North America Region.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience as a network engineer

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in designing and supporting large-scale enterprise and ICS/SCADA network
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in supporting a 1,000 nodes corporate network environment
  • One or more industry certifications in different technologies disciplines (such as, Azure, AWS, Cisco, Fortinet, Security) is beneficial to the success of the role
  • In-depth knowledge in design and manage networking and security components across multiple public clouds (Such as AWS and Azure) and on-Premises Data Center.
  • Expert in Enterprise Core Networking technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN, SDWAN, Firewall, Network Load balancing, 4/5G Wireless, and WIFI.
  • In-depth knowledge in Networking Protocol (Proxy, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BOOTP, 802.1x, 802.1Q,  BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN, Ethernet, VLAN, Spanning-Tree)
  • Expert in the operations, IT Security, disaster recovery, monitor, optimization, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows Server environment in an enterprise-scale network
  • Working knowledge of general IT technologies (Azure AD, Active Directory, Authentication, OKTA, O365/Email, Window Workstation and Server, VMware, IaaS, PaaS)

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is 100% onsite; with the ability to travel 40% of the time including overnight stays
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Mission:

In full coordination with the Regional HUB Chief security officer, the Country Security Manager leads, coordinates, plans, implements, and organizes security-related activities for all GBUs and other ENGIE entities operating in their country (or area) of responsibility.

In their country (or area of responsibility), they are the pivotal element for all security-related matters, whether they concern the Group or third parties that collaborate with it. They cooperate with all interested parties and actively participate, within the framework of their functions, in protecting our employees, our infrastructures, and our information against malicious acts by ensuring the definition and implementation of prevention/protection measures that mitigate the security risk to an acceptable level.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the country managing director and managers of GBUs (or other Engie entities) operating in the country on security issues,
  • Ensure that the Group's security policy is deployed in their country and that their security action plan is aligned with this policy and with the related Group Guidelines,
  • Maintain and develop liaison with all Engie local entity personnel and, if necessary, with local administrations and appropriate government/military agencies
  • Maintain and develop a dialogue with the security managers by participating in the bimonthly "security gathering”, by regularly transmitting to the Regional HUB CSO the information needed to fill in the security incident reporting tool (or by feeding the tool himself/herself) and by reporting any notable event,
  • Proactively identify, monitor, and respond to potential and actual threats to ENGIE employees, assets, and facilities in their country (or area of responsibility) and provide alerts on immediate threats and emerging trends to managers and, if necessary, to their Regional HUB CSO for informed decision making,
  • Monitor local regulations, technologies, and threats, contribute to the DSIE "threat watch" and facilitate exchanges between the DSIE (and more specifically its business intelligence unit) and the entities/managers for whom the "competitive intelligence" information is relevant,
  • Ensure that appropriate physical protection measures are implemented85 (badges, cameras, alarms, electronic/physical locks, etc.)
  • Ensure a secure environment for employees, and in particular, for local employees and expatriates, and provide travel advice88 to business travelers on assignment (including local security alerts),
  •  Participate in the protection of sensitive and/or strategic information by raising staff awareness, by mapping this data in liaising with all internal or external entities concerned (and in particular DPOS/CDPMS, CISOS, risk officers, internal control officers, and local authorities for documents classified as "national security"), by contributing to the implementation of the group's information classification, and by conducting or participating in investigations when a leak of sensitive information is identified, preparing to manage a security crisis (or participating in a crisis unit which includes a "security" issue),
  • Participate in the annual internal control exercise (self-assessment), in coordination with the regional HUB CSO, identify gaps and develop risk mitigation plans, lead and manage the "security" aspects of major group events in their country, in liaise with their regional HUB CSO when necessary,
  • Developing, if necessary and in conjunction with their regional HUB CSO, country-specific security policies, procedures, and plans to maintain appropriate security, in compliance with group security rules and local regulations,
  •  Regularly perform, with the support of their regional HUB CSO, third party “audits” (security providers) and/or due diligence94 (subcontractors, private security companies...) And share the result with their regional HUB CSO and the DSIE when necessary,
  • Collaborate with business developers to identify risks related to their projects and operations (current or future) and propose appropriate solutions to mitigate them,
  • Participate - in liaising with the regional HUB CSO - in the annual mapping of security risks, listing all identified risks (on people, infrastructure, and information) for their country (or area of responsibility) and transmitting the elements to the regional HUB CSO,
  • Share with the regional HUB CSO, the DSIE, and the security network, the lessons learned from feedback.
  • Lead crisis management efforts with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the effective integration of site procedures into the overall crisis management system.

 

Profile: 

  • Master’s degree, in security or equivalent
  •  At least 5 years of experience as a security manager in police, military, or security within an industrial group.
  • French and English proficiency (Arabic is a plus).
  • Good people management skills;
  • Flexible, meticulous, good planner, and organizer. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and be proactive.

  • Coordinate entities’ needs by activity in compliance with Category Management and Hub/Entity Procurement organizations, rules and governance.
  • Contribute to achieving the department savings and performance targets.
  • Work closely with the H&S teams at the sites to implement the Engie minimum HSE standards for all sub-contractors.
  • Enforce the Group procurement policy and governance when procuring all goods and services.
  • Support the warehouse stock, inventory, ordering, and replenishment process for the entities in the scope.
  • Ensure good relations with suppliers and vendors and build up a vendor database;
  • Support the implementation and roll out of digital tools for procurement such as the ERP system;
  • Assist with procurement reporting and data collection as and when required.
  • Develop local suppliers and ensure compliance to the Economic Development objectives of the operational entities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Help internal clients to formalise / express their needs

  • Assist with and optimising procurement requests.
  • Clarify and challenge the details of these requests.

Ensure the procurement is completed at the best conditions (cost, quality, lead time & payment terms)

Within the framework of the procurement category policy produced for a Group category:

•            Based on requirements, identify the budget and establish tender assessment criteria.

•            Issue RFP’s for tenders / requests for quotation among target suppliers.

In other cases, manage the whole Procurement process:

•            Based on requirements, identify the budget and establish tender assessment criteria and procedure.

•            Scan the market to identify potential suppliers.

•            Roll out the tender process.

•            Identify, analyse, evaluate, execute and document and exception (emergencies and urgencies) to the process with the proper authorisations.

Negotiate the specific terms and conditions with the suppliers.

Finalise the supplier and prepare the contract / purchase order.

 

Ensure proper execution of the contract / purchase order

  • Ensure Purchase orders / contracts are approved according to the Procurement delegation.
  • Assist internal stakeholders to ensure the supplier performs its obligations.
  • Monitor supplier disputes with internal stakeholders.
  • Measure operational and economic performance of the supplier (including CSR).

Co-ordinate with suppliers and internally

  • Interact / co-ordinate the network of PO agents and requestors
  • Implement in the procedures and tools and deploy internally new signed contracts
  • Manage supplier relationships

Reporting and feedback

  • Provide reliable and comprehensive reports and feedback, in order to improve the efficiency of the procurement strategy and supplier performance plan.
  • Contribute to the performance plan.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement or supply chain.
  • 5 years’ functional experience covering procurement, supply chain and logistics.
  • Experience in operational procurement preferably in power plants.
  • CIPS level 4 or higher is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and adapt project Procurement plan and strategies

  • Draw up a list of requirements in collaboration with the Business and the buyers
  • Take CSR and Carbon Neutral/Zero targets into account
  • Define the procurement project management plan, strategies and procedures, in order to improve the competitive advantage of the business and up-grade them if necessary

  • Steer and coordinate Procurement for the whole project and take charge of the most strategic/difficult purchases.

  • Oversee calls for tenders and conduct key negotiations.
  • Draw up the contract with the legal department.
  • Manage relationships with the most critical suppliers.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputable university. A Master’s degree is a nice to have.
  • 5-10 years’ operational experience managing EPC and large contractors for industrial projects.
  • Experience in energy related projects is preferred.

 

Technical  Knowledge

 

  • Strongly autonomous, possesses leadership and influential qualities.
