What You Can Expect

As an Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Trader in Houston, you will report to Head of ERCOT desk and manage ERCOT Price and basis risk.

 

  • Manage ERCOT flat price and basis positions with a term horizon of one year
  • Deploy fundamentals-based trading strategies
  • Monitor, coordinate and distill ERCOT fundamentals into actionable intelligence
  • Work with Origination and sales staff to help price, structure and execute transactions
  • Execute quantitative analysis supporting trading strategies

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in economics, mathematics or similar discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years of ERCOT trading experience 
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

  • Must enjoy problem solving and creating trading opportunities
  • Track record of developing a trading strategy using fundamental analysis

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400 – $196,765 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

Context:

As Short Term Trader, you will play a pivotal role within the Short Term Trading desk, organized within the Short term Power as a Service.

The mission of Short Term Trading is to maximize  the revenues of  the ENGIE  power portfolio within the CWE region and maximize the value of intraday trading activities in the developing pan-European Intraday markets. As an intraday trader, your key responsibility is to multitask and be able to take decisions on a very short time frame based on a large dataset.

These activities are executed within a sub team of 9 people organized continuous 24/7 and taking up both Trading & optimization activities.

You will interact very closely with the Algorithmic trading development team.

 

Role:

In the role of Short Term Trader, you will be responsible for: 

  • Maximizing the CWE power portfolio revenues in intra-day, including renewable management, sales exposure and asset flexibility
  • Leveraging on our market expertise in order to maximize the value of our trading activities.
  • You will act as a single window to the intraday Market in order to cover the real time physical needs of our clients and re-optimize the asset portfolio against the intraday power market prices.
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenues and minimize the costs for our clients over the different time horizons of the short term chain
  • Develop cross-maturity models which can serve the portfolio of assets, intermittency, DSM and develop efficient strategies to capture trading opportunities on those different markets.
  • Delivering 3rd party services for external Customers.
  • Ensuring correct and timely delivered reporting of portfolio and market activities.
  • You work in a 24/7 shift system.

You will report on a regular basis to the Head of Short Term Trading.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE

 

Role

As a Power Scheduler, you will report to Head of GEMS Japan. You will contribute to the fulfillment of the missions APAC Power Business development ambition, Coordinating with multiple external and internal stakeholders globally.

 

 

Main activities

  • Responsible for scheduling operation for Japan Physical Power portfolio
  • Monitor physical power position and nominate bid into Japan Electricity Power Exchange (JEPX) Day-ahead market and settle the balance of positions with Transmission System Operator (TSO)
  • Submit Supply and Demand plan to the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO).
  • Facilitate any day-to-day delivery issues between trade counterparties.
  • Regulatory reporting to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and keep track for any update in regulatory environment
  • Being a primary contact with external counterparty incl. JEPX, TSO, METI and OCCTO for the relevant issues
  • Liaison internally with IT and back office to implement smooth scheduling operation. And improve efficiency of the trade cycle

Als Customer Service Officer speel je een cruciale rol in het leveren van een uitzonderlijke klantervaring. En tant qu'Agent du service client, vous êtes un réel ambassadeur d’Engie auprès de nos clients. Vous leur garantissez, avec l’intervention d’autres départements si nécessaire, un support irréprochable. Context:

The transversal data officer works within the global Data Office for GEMS. The Data office is under the direct responsibility of the Chief Data officer and is responsible for data governance, quality as well as driving the overall data strategy for the organization under the guidance of the CDO.

 

Role:

The transversal data officer primary mission is to ensure the proper operationalization of Data Governance in relation with all stakeholders. Besides, the Data Officer must meet Data Governance program objectives, budget constraints and timeline.

 

Data Office roadmap and program monitoring:

Assists the CDO in defining the Data Office roadmap considering data centric strategies involving Data Science and AI initiatives

Makes sure that Data Office roadmap is updated

Ensures that KPIs allowing to supervise the governance program advancement are defined and monitored

Assists the CDO in prioritizing data subjects and is involved in the construction of IS roadmap on Data subjects

Assists the CDO in organizing and preparing data committees

 

Data Office resource and budget monitoring:

Context:

One of the business platforms within GEMS, BP Clients, is dedicated to serving and expanding our client portfolio by offering them valuable and sustainable energy management solutions.

The Customer Journey department handles the energy contracts (gas and power) of our clients from the moment they are signed until their completion, taking care of invoicing, reporting, payment tracking, collection and estimation of volumes and revenues for the monthly closing process.

Customer Journey works closely with the sales team of BP Clients, which specializes in Industrial Giants.

Role:

We are looking for a Customer Journey Officer who will be responsible for the post-trade and invoicing activities of our Gas and Power Full Supply Contracts for Belgium and the Netherlands. As a Customer Journey officer, you will be the main point of contact for our customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty. You will also be involved in the digitalization project of our invoicing processes, which aims to improve efficiency and quality.

Your main tasks will include:

- Manage the customer relationship from contract signature to invoice payment, including contract administration, billing, dispute resolution, and customer feedback.

- Contribute to the digitalization project of our invoicing processes, by providing feedback, testing solutions, and supporting the change management.

- Collaborate with the digital team, the Sales, the Structuration, the Hedging Position Management and Finances teams to build what is needed to give the customer an excellent experience when signing a Full Supply contract with GEM

- Collaborate with finances to be on time for Closing and more generally speaking of financial events

- Give visibility on what is done by the team, for instance using KPI

- Monitor and report on the performance of our contracts, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

About the role:

The role holder will be responsible for the end to end management of Retail Ops processes for I&C customers from Customer Setup and Registration, to Metering, and through to Billing and Customer Service. Context :

The role of the Data Scientist is to provide analysis, models and tools to the optimization and trading desks, using data science tools and state-of-the art quantitative models. The Team Manager of “Power & Emissions” QRM's team will be your direct manager. The data scientist will be working for the business platform BP Power Trading and Structuring & Origination.

 

Role :

The data scientist will be focused on the activities related to the CWE power markets. He will leverage large amount of data using machine learning and state-of-the art quantitative models to deliver analysis and tools that have a concrete impact on the business, including :

  • Prediction of relevant power market signals
  • Asset optimization
  • Trading algorithm

 

The daily responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the digitalization and data-driven trading decision of GEMS
  • Develop, improve and support our models and tools
  • Leverage complex data to provide market insight
  • Be in direct contact with traders and optimizers desks to understand their business needs and propose solutions
  • Be in direct contact with Quants and Market Analysts, to exchange about models, new ideas, in order to leverage on the knowledge from peers
  • Be in direct contact with the IS team to be aligned on coding best practices and IS architectures

 

 

Hard skills :

  • Must have:
  • Strong mathematical skills, expert in statistics, machine learning and optimization,
  • In-depth understanding of the energy business and power markets,
  • Demonstrated coding skills (Python) in order to develop autonomously prototypes & models,
  • Ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues,
  • Familiar with GIT, Microsoft suite,
  • Experience with data science techniques

Soft skills :

  • Must have:
  • Analyzing, practical thinking, entrepreneurship,
  • Planning, developing others,
  • Conceptual thinking, working together.

 

Education and professional background :

  • University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Sciences,
  • Experience in short term power markets is a plus
  • 3 to 15 years of experience in a similar role

 

Languages :

  • Fluent in English

Travels :

  • Working place is Brussels. Only limited travel needed in case of for example conferences.
