What You Can Expect

As a Senior Federal Tax Analyst in Houston office, you will report to the Tax Manager, you will prepare complex federal income tax returns and prepare federal tax payments. Assist in preparing the consolidated tax provision and tax forecasts. Support federal tax compliance and the financial reporting process for federal consolidation and partnership financial reporting.

 

Prepare complete and accurate federal tax returns for single entities and consolidated groups

Maintain clear and thorough documentation with supporting tax research for all tax adjustments and complete assignments timely

Prepare federal payments based on forecasts including book minimum tax

Prepare scheduling file for deferred tax inventory to calculate valuation reserve

Maintain accurate tax fixed asset depreciation schedules aligned with accounting records

Manage W-9s, EIN requests

Prepare income tax provisions for assigned entities and reconcile prior year’s estimated provisions to the actual tax returns (RTA)

Run Alteryx workflow process to update fixed assets in FAS (Sage)

Reconcile the deferred inventory to actual tax basis

Compile documentation for external auditors in conjunction with the local audit

Document and monitor internal controls around the processes within the Senior Analyst’s scope

Support the internal controls process

Support the year-end tax memo process

Implement automation initiatives and process improvements for the income tax and provision

 

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in finance, accounting or other related disciplines

A minimum of 5 years professional experience

A minimum of 3 years relevant public accounting or industry tax experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Thorough knowledge of tax depreciation methods, amortization, and dispositions

Partnership federal income tax compliance

Corporate federal income tax compliance

Corporate income tax financial reporting

Strong accounting skills

Collaborative active learner who takes pride in high quality work product

Organized and responsible in meeting deadlines

Solid software skills in tax provision and tax return software, Word, and Excel

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,900 – $114,770 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

Work with asset management teams to ensure all project finances are accurately reflected and reconciled.  Will establish and lead recurring meetings to discuss project status, review outstanding receivables and commitments, and cash flow position

Ensure customer billings and expenses for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects are processed and recorded timely each month. 

Interface with external auditors and preparation of financial schedules and required requests

Meet with Treasury on cash management, debt payments, partnership distributions and ad hoc requests.  Responsible for providing Treasury with cash projections

Develop processes, drive continuous improvement, coordinate requirements upstream and downstream in the organization

Perform ad-hoc projects as needed, including those which may involve complex or advanced accounting concepts

Comply with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures

Contexte:

 

Le département FinOp est une organisation de contrôle de gestion et de Middle Office au sein de GEM. L'équipe MO Market Access joue un rôle de fonction support pour la plateforme Market Access et pour d'autres BPs dans l'analyse de leurs opérations de trading et d'origination. La plateforme Market Access est composée à la fois d'une activité de Market Making (interaction avec les ventes pour le portefeuille client) et d'une activité de gestion des risques internes (couverture des positions prises par d'autres BPs sur les marchés des matières premières énergétiques).

Le Middle Office Market Access est impliqué dans la production du résultat économique de GEM, la valorisation des positions et la préparation de rapports. Le calcul est basé sur les opérations réalisées par les traders sur les marchés. Nous en assurons la cohérence par l'analyse des expositions et de l'évolution des paramètres de marché. Le périmètre comprend des opérations vanilles et complexes sur les produits pétroliers, gaziers, électriques et les émissions. Vous acquerrez ainsi une solide expérience sur un portefeuille de produits large et diversifié.

Le Middle Office Market Access est également intégré dans l'ensemble des processus des équipes FinOp, tels que les clôtures mensuelles. Il existe une forte interaction avec les équipes Front Office et Finance basées en Europe, aux États-Unis et à Singapour. Vous serez amené à calculer les valeurs de P&L, à challenger les résultats et à produire des analyses plus approfondies sur des stratégies spécifiques lorsque les traders en auront besoin. Une forte capacité d'analyse est appréciée. En raison de la collaboration étroite entre le Front Office et les autres équipes de fonctions support (telles que le Back Office, d'autres équipes financières ou les risques de marché), une forte capacité à communiquer avec d'autres personnes est demandée. La majeure partie du travail est effectuée en anglais.

 

Role:

  • Production du P&L économique quotidien, en assurant sa cohérence et son intégrité, principalement sur les périmètres gaz, pétrole et électricité.
  • Analyse des valorisations Mark to Market des transactions du Front Office.
  • Contrôles et explication du P&L à travers des indicateurs de risque : explications des Greeks, valorisation MtM, évolution des paramètres de marché, expositions aux matières premières.
  • Analyse et explication de la performance des traders (et des ventes), à travers des rapports basés sur des indicateurs spécifiques (PnL, valeur créée à l'initiation, volume échangé).
  • Analyse de la rentabilité d'une stratégie ou d'un client.
  • Fournir un support opérationnel au Front Office.
  • Réalisation de demandes ad hoc du Front Office ou de la direction.
  • Participation aux clôtures de fin de mois et aux contrôles spécifiques.
  • Gestion de la structure des livres du Front Office.

 

Compétences techniques:

  • Vous pouvez travailler en anglais.
  • Les compétences en VBA/Python/SQL sont fortement appréciées.
  • Vous êtes familier avec les modèles de valorisation/pricing dans un environnement de matières premières.

Perform monthly and annual closing processes for assigned entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and IFRS reporting requirements to ENGIE parent company

Prepare and deliver partnership financial statements and other reporting as requested

What You’ll Bring

What You Can Expect

What You’ll Bring

What You Can Expect

As a Credit Advisor – Know Your Customer (KYC) in Houston, you will report to VP Credit and preform know your customer analysis on large and small companies.

 

  • Analyze and formalize know your customer (KYC) analysis for new and existing entities
  • Provide input and recommendations on best practices for entity clearance resources, such as LexisNexus, World Check, etc.

The FinOps Biomass team is attached directly to both the BP LNG & Global Biomass & the EC (Expertise Center) FinOps. Its mission is to support our clients by providing operational excellence in deal life cycle and financial information relevant for decision.

 

Role:

We are currently looking for a VIE and we offer the opportunity to work in the center of Brussels (Capital of Europe) within a dynamic and enthusiastic team .

The Financial Controller carries out the processes linked to the financial results of the Global Biomass activity, covering Biomass & Freight (for the result and balance sheet accounting indicators), excluding those carried out by the Back-Office or by the Accis shared service center (GBS).

Tasks:

  • Analyze the results to date as part of the Group performance review process (including comparison to budget/previous month/previous year)
  • Monitor the daily evolution of the trading perimeter, and solve issues identified in due-time
  • Support our clients in the development of new activities (e.g. new commodities / new trading floors / new deal types) and coordination with our stakeholders (IT/GBS/BO/Risk/FO) to ensure a correct financial set-up
  • Coordinate & collaborate with Accis & Group to guarantee that reported P&L is correctly captured in the accounting systems (SAP / SMART / CONSO)
  • Identify/propose & implement solutions (e.g. new reporting/new controls/…) in order to make our processes more efficient

Hard skills:

  • Good knowledge of the MS tools (Excel, PPT,…) + Powerbi
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting system (SAP) is a plus

Key activities and competencies

Purpose of the Job

 

Assist in the valuation and risk analysis of new projects (including review of financial models) and thepreparation of financing plans, selection of funding sources / banks, structuring and execution ofacquisitions and project financings.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Qualifications:

 

• MBA Finance / Economics / CA based degree or a professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA,ACA, ACCA (or equivalent)

 

Experience:

 

• Between 2 - 6 years of relevant experience,
• Experience in AIFA / M&A or project finance will be preferred

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

• Strong and proven analytical skills, including proficient financial modelling
• Commercial acumen with good understanding of accounting topics and tax structures
• Ability to multitask and to work effectively under pressure
• Behavioural capabilities: problem solving.

 

Business Understanding:

 

• Basic understanding of the power business and merchant market dynamics
