MEP Team Leader

Job Purpose: 

MEP Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC equipment within the Data Center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third-party vendors.  

 Data Center technicians provide an array of technical support to an organization’s Data Center. They help ensure that the servers are consistently running smoothly, but when they’re not running smoothly, Data Center technicians help problem solve and determine resolutions to avoid major downtime. With the virtual nature of Data Centers, security, reliability and availability are of utmost importance 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and daily visual inspections on major Data Center equipment. 
  • Daily checking of the healthiness of all facilities equipment’s and keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. 
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, ELV equipment. 
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility MEP systems.  
  • Maintain and operate all MEP-related systems, associated equipment, electrical equipment, and building management systems. 
  • Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations. 
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus. 
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards on which Engineer assigns. 
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.  
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.  
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems. 
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements. 
  • Maintain essential stock of spare parts. 
  • Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required. 
  • Attend training sessions and seminars. 
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.

As our Health and Safety Representative III, at Georgetown University, you will support the implementation of the ENGIE NORAM H&S standard and strategic initiatives at three Washington, DC area campuses.  You will be responsible for all personnel safety training, monitoring and auditing at campus utilities operations, facilities, and construction project sites.  Supports the corporate HSE Director and peers in the development of new, revised, and existing fleet-wide H&S compliance policies, programs, processes and procedures, including interface with ENGIE wide HSE teams.

 

Every day you will support corporate reporting and trend analysis by ensuring that sites report all H&S KPIs via the tools provided, reviewing and revising procedures at the direction of the campus and corporate leadership, as well as answering any compliance questions raised by plant, project management, and corporate staff. You will report to the CEO, Georgetown Energy Partners.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a Bachelor of Science degree, or a combination of a technical diploma and relevant experience
  • You are a Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST); or an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or on track to achieve the CSP
  • You have a minimum 5 years relevant experience in Health and Safety
  • You are a subject matter expert in OSHA (US) 1910 and 1926

  • You will support all the implementation of the ENGIE H&S standards for ENGIE utilities operations and construction projects, which includes policies, programs, processes and procedures   
  • You will review contractor H&S execution plans including oversight resource requirements to ensure full compliance with ENGIE Group Rules governing contract work 
  • You will modify local H&S procedures as needed to conform to ENGIE NorthAm H&S procedures and ENGIE Group Rules
  • You will develop training programs and/or conducts training on mandated programs, such as lock out tag out, confined spaces, hazardous communication, and medical surveillance

Compensation

What You Can Expect

As the Project Manager II, working in a self-managed team concept, reporting to one of the campus Program Managers. As part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at the University of Iowa, you will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the two local University campuses. Projects ranging in size from $100,000 to $15M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-3 years.

 

 

This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system.  The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm- and wastewater infrastructure.

 

No two days are the same, starting with the development stage  you will be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members, subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving construction challenges through collaboration  and clearing the path and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of success are successful completion of projects with no health, safety or environmental and public relations,  on time and under budget.  You will be managing contracts for both Design and construction of capital projects within the central plants, and managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants  and Operations and maintenance staff.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other technical field Or,  a Bachelor’s degree (any major) and an additional two (2) years of Project Management experience in industrial projects in lieu of the Engineering / Technical degree
  • You have a minimum two (2) years’ of project management experience managing the scope development, estimates, stakeholder management, contracting, cost development, cost tracking, project execution, commissioning, and closeout of projects
  • You possess or have the desire to obtain a PMP Certification

3. Effectively implement all relevant GBU standard processes, KPIs and digital tools and applications in the fields of engineering and construction, asset management (maintenance, energy performance), labor and field service management, energy management and procurement.  

4. Measure operational performance by activity, benchmark and propose improvement actions and report to the General Management and the Operations Line. 

5. Set objectives, support, control and assess the action of the 5 lines under your scope for ES related topics (H&S, Operational Excellence, Plan Efficiencies and Cost Savings, Process improvement and Transformation Plan). 

6. Lead the operations related topics within the QBR Operations deck, attend to the QBR and comment main KPI, challenges and zooms on key projects / programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

- You have relevant experience in the energy and/or services business as well as people intensive business type with at least 10 years in a senior operational management function (P&L). Experience in an international Group is a strong advantage.

Our Site Administrator I will be working with ENGIE’s Water Plant Operations and Maintenance Team and will report to the Water Plant Manager. This position is located at the University Of Iowa Campus in Iowa City, IA. 

 

The schedule offered is 7:00am – 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday.

 

  • Every day you will be working with our water distribution, and plant personnel.  You will be responsible for generating purchase orders to vendors, and assisting with the expediating, delivery and close out of purchase orders. You will be using a computerized maintenance system (CMMS) to assign materials to work orders. Other frequent tasks include assisting with onboarding/ offboarding employees, scheduling training, and maintaining certifications for staff, purchasing of uniforms.   
  • You will maintain and monitor inventory, process invoices and purchase orders. You will be assisting the Plant Manager with cost and procurement controls, budget preparation and review, resolution of billing, vendor management, reports and correspondence preparation. You will also serve as a member of the local safety committee. 
  • Additional tasks include, Production of documents and reports as requested by operational leaders.  Completing data entry for customer billing, and supervising Interns data entry assignments. Maintaining routine plant operating logs and reports.

California Apprentice Electrician

What You Can Expect 

Situated in the Central California Region, the Apprentice Electrician will assist and train with our Licensed Electrician (Photovoltaic Technician). While not working on energized equipment, you'll be responsible for assisting in preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting across numerous solar projects throughout Central California. Tasks will involve using testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools common to the electrical trade. These projects are typically smaller scale public works projects scattered across the Northern California Region. Safety, both electrical and driving, is paramount in this role, requiring your commitment to learning and working safely under the guidance of our Licensed Journeyman Electricians. Continuous employment necessitates participation and good standing in your DOL/DIR approved Apprenticeship program. 

 

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • Must be certified as an Apprentice with DIR
  • Ability to attend Apprentice training classes and maintain good standing with the Apprentice training council
  • Capability to follow directions, safety procedures, and work instructions provided by the Journeyman Electrician
  • Basic electrical understanding and ability to work safely on a ladder
  • Must adhere to specific methods of procedures reviewed daily with Journeyman supervisor
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate them verbally or in writing, typically using Microsoft Office or other Field Management tools

 

 

Additional Details

  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Up to 90% travel (daytime travel) with occasional overnight stays
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required; Public Transportation is not available for the majority of our job sites
  • Ability to meet high attendance requirements
  • Capability to handle multiple assignments promptly and accurately
  • Proficiency in using a computer or iPad-type device to complete service reports or tickets and view technical data
  • Ability to work outdoors and on rooftops

Compensation:

Your hourly rate is calculated separately per project type: California Public Work, Private Work (by County), and Federal Work. The hourly rate of pay is established using the calculation methods required by DLSE, ABC, DOL, based on the appropriate Apprentice rate and your apprenticeship program level.

 

Increases will be made in compliance with your tracked Apprentice On the Job Training (OJT) hours.

 

The company will contribute your Health and Welfare Insurance contributions directly to

 “ABC Chapter Benefit Trust”.

Job Purpose:

MEP Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third-party vendors.

 

Data center technicians provide an array of technical support to an organization’s data center. They help ensure that the servers are consistently running smoothly, but when they’re not running smoothly, data center technicians help problem solve and determine resolutions to avoid major downtime. With the virtual nature of data centers, security, reliability and availability are of utmost importance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s and keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, ELV equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility MEP systems.
  • Maintain and operate all MEP related systems, associated equipment, electrical equipment, building management system.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards on which Engineer assigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required.
  • Attend training sessions and seminars.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint.
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings.
  • Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint to match specified colors.
  • Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
  • Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces.
  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Glass repair of building windows.
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures.
  • Prepare all painted signs required by the district.
  • Receive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor used.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
  • Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of and ability to mix paint to match colors
  • Color Vision: Painters need to be able to see different colors and make sure that they are consistent throughout a job.

QUALIFICATIONS:
