Thanks to a strong increase in business activity, we are currently recruiting a fulltime Nuclear Engineer Decommissioning Processes for a permanent position in our Brussels HQ, Namur, Hasselt or Ghent office (partial homework possible).

 

Function

As Nuclear Engineer Decommissioning Processes you will join our dynamic team which is responsible for the expertise field related to Radiation Protection, Radioactive Waste Management and Nuclear Decommissioning. In close collaboration with your colleagues, your Group Manager and the Project Manager, you conduct Engineering Studies related to the preparation of the Nuclear Decommissioning of the Belgian Nuclear Power Plants. This includes also new build projects (indeed, “we need builders to dismantle”). You will mainly work from our office (with a possibility to do partial homework), some projects might require on-site interventions.

 

Core responsibilities

Technical expertise

  • Knowledge of nuclear decommissioning processes in general
  • Knowledge about cutting- and decontamination techniques;
  • Knowledge about radioactive material- and waste flows during dismantling;
  • Knowledge about nuclear decommissioning of the main components of the primary circuit;
  • Knowledge about the management of the decommissioning inventory
  • Knowledge about the implementation of the decommisioning concept on site
  • Writing technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and decommissioning activities.
  • Capacity to propose element of methodology

 

Collaboration

  • Verify the technical work performed by your peers;
  • Provide regular feedback about ongoing activities;
  • Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others;
  • Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.

You will address the technical follow-up of the civil works related to the different projects that are ongoing and will be realized in the frame of

  • Long Term Operations – namely the projects associated to the anticipated life time extension of Doel 4;
  • Decommissioning and Dismantling – namely both the new build and modifications associated to the final shutdown of Doel 1, 2 and 3;
  • Plant Operational Support – namely the civil works assistance we deliver to the operational power plants (e.g. from maintenance works for cooling towers or other important structures, to completely new build structures, as e.g. Spent Fuel Storage Facilities);

You will join the Site Team under the mentorship of the Site Lead.

 

Typical activities include:

  • interfacing between Tractebel’s back office, the Client and Contractors realizing the works;
  • inspecting the Contractors’ execution activities, verifying compliance with execution drawings and documents (erection methodology etc.);
  • verifying and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements;
  • management of the technical interfaces between Contractors;
  • management and follow up of main design modifications;
  • participation to regular meetings with the stakeholders: progress, challenges, interfaces, HSE, etc.;

The successful candidate

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Responsible for building, coaching, mentoring and driving a high-performing Sales team that is accountable for attaining individual sales quotas, creating a culture focused on sales execution and accountability.
  • In-depth understanding of ENGIE Impact and ENGIE Group capabilities and portfolio of offerings, with the ability to effectively convey the value of ENGIE Impact’s products and services, explaining their purpose and performance and how they interconnect for maximum value.
  • Must understand and embody the key functions of Sales leader execution - including but not limited to attracting/hiring/and retaining top talent, coaching, leveraging appropriate tools and technology, and performance management.

      • Seven+ years of experience in energy or sustainability related services, high technology or business process outsourcing related fields to multi-site customers.
      • Demonstrated experience of consistently meeting sales targets and objectives, solution selling, and C-level selling.
      • Provide domain expertise in one or more of the following Customer Segments, such as: Retail, Industrial, Hospitality, Restaurant, Waste, Telecom or Healthcare.

The pay range for this role is: $128,000-$170,000.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. your job Functions (DUTIES & Responsibilities)

 

  • Will be responsible for overall supervision of substation.
  • Ensuring that the Contract works will be strictly carried out as per the Contract, instructions of SEC .
  • Attending meetings
  • Supervise strict implementation of Safety Procedures, rules & regulations, and Minimum Quality Standards of SEC and of other utilities and institutions as applicable.
  • Co-ordinate site works with other utilities and obtaining necessary approvals, safety documents and work permits for the works.
  • Study record drawings, survey sheets and as built drawings before commencing excavation.
  • Supervise all works at site in accordance with the Specifications , Technical requirements, Procedures laid down to the satisfaction of SEC.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are adopted at site by the application of warning boards, danger boards, road signs, warning lights etc .;
  • Prevention of damage to plant & equipment of SEC and other utilities.
  • Complying with all aspects of the safety procedures and regulations of SEC.
  • Submitting Drawings incorporating the data collected from the site for approval of SEC.
  • Ensure completion of all works within the agreed period of time.
  • Will be responsible for the proper implementation of safety procedures /rules at site by the contractor/sub-contractors.
  • Will be responsible for material approval
  • Verification of approved materials as per contract specifications and as per the requirements. Recorded evidence of verification should be maintained.
  • Establish and maintain records, which provide evidence that the works have been inspected and tested. These records should show clearly whether the work has passed or failed the inspections I tests according to defined acceptance criteria. Records should identify the inspection authority responsible for the release of the works.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering Discipline from a reputable university.

 

  • Experience:

 

  • Should have worked for a minimum of 18 years in the capacity of Substation supervision in the relevant field and should have handled major transmission projects (132kV/220/380 kV systems) involving supervision, inspection, erection and commissioning & testing of Substations, & associated equipment and facilities etc
  • Should have experience in verification of selected material , inspection of all site relevant works at different stages.
  • Must be fully conversant I referred all relevant international standards and should have working experience in ISO 9000 systems.
  • Must have hands-on experience in supervision of cable jointing at least up to 380 kV.
  • Conversant with all aspects of procedures, method statements and SAFETY RULES AND PROCEDURES of Substation up to and including 380 kV.
