The civil Multi Technician is responsible for maintaining buildings - this includes building items such as furniture and stairs, making repairs to the internal and external structure and ensuring buildings are safe. Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, painting , mason work and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform locksmith duties, fitting of various door hardware, locks, door closers and the associated maintenance.
  • Perform carpentry & Painting projects and new work installation to the satisfaction of the building.
  • Preventative maintenance is completed in accordance with O&M
  • PMs are undertaken at the required frequency and prioritized accordingly in liaison with the building supervisor
  • Assist the building supervisor with the management and directing of various building and maintenance contractors.
  • Is aware of and can identify hazards to which they may be exposed, and they may create and act accordingly   
  • Ability to work in gypsum ceiling installation with C channel and other required accessories.     

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of carpentry , mason work , painting and building maintenance work
  • Assist to team in MEP maintenance work such as PPM or reactive calls .
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to operate the required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Time management skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Carpentry Trade Qualification Licensed
  • 5+ years’ experience in finish carpentry & Civil work
  • Additional 1+ years’ experience in rough carpentry preferred

Job Purpose:

What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Solar Site located in West Union, IL.   

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. 

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Thermal power plants

Compensation

Demonstrate procedural compliance in site operation and maintenance by following established procedures. Facilitate daily work, including report production. Renewables Solar and BESS construction experience or commissioning power plants a plus
  • HV Experience. Trades qualifications and certifications acceptable: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician)
  • Obtain AVO certification or equivalent as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Be proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages up to 70% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Ability to travel nationally at short notice and work for periods of time remote from your home to support our operational assets
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $32.69 - $48.76 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
