What You Can Expect

As our Acquisition, Investment, and Financial Advisor (AIFA) Manager, you will develop business cases and provide supporting project financial analyses to guide the investment for greenfield investment, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) projects.  You can work a hybrid schedule from our Houston, TX office.

 

Every day you will be responsible for leading the valuation, structuring guidance, advise on commercial agreements, risk allocation, bankability of contracts, financing alternatives, and expected investment returns throughout the business development process of investments, mergers and acquisition, and project financing plans. You will present investment opportunities to ENGIE leadership, defend project economics, and risks for the review committees.

 

  • Develop, analyze, evaluate and recommend financial options and proposals as they relate to business development projects or other funding needs
  • Advise internal stakeholders in understanding appropriate risk allocation, bankability of terms and conditions of various project contracts and provide general structuring advice and optimization of returns throughout the business development process
  • Structure, negotiate and execute financing documents (internal or project finance) for medium to large size transactions
  • Identify main project economic and financial risks and advise on the appropriate mitigation factors and definition of appropriate contingencies
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions, following group guidelines. Maintain responsibility for the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant inputs to such models. Propose and implement relevant sensitivity analysis for investment files
  • Assist the business development decision making process and manage internal approvals process for new economic commitments and associated financing arrangements
  • Create and lead presentations for lender and management updates and discussions
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the AIFA team

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Math, or a STEM-focused degree program where you have learned project management, project financing, investments, equity, mergers, acquisitions, power, energy, or renewable market skills
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in all aspects of project finance and M&A transactions where you lead the modeling/analysis, drive the structuring, negotiating legal documentation, execution of transactions and detailed financial modeling for each project from start of the development process to the successful closing of an investment or acquisition
  • Broad power industry expertise, including working in retail, energy services, renewables and / or generation markets
  • Investment analysis experience in the clean energy sector at a developer, fund, bank, or consultant
  • Detailed financial modeling, including a project finance and accounting component, with a strong proficiency working in EXCEL  You have worked in environments where you have worked alone or in a team structuring and closing M&A and/or financing transactions, including reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation
  • Knowledge of US merchant power markets drivers, hedging
  • instruments, Tax Equity Structures, and IRS requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers as well as internal stakeholders (management, business development, legal, technical, insurance, tax, and accounting) to bring transactions to conclusion in a challenging environment

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400.00 – $196,765.00 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in conducting M&A and project finance transactions at an investment bank, private equity fund, or strategic energy company

  • Energy market experience in utility scale renewables, distributed generation (i.e. rooftop solar, etc.), energy services, retail electricity, natural gas transportation or distribution
  • Commercial acumen with good understanding of accounting topics and tax structures

What You Can Expect

The Senior IT Analyst, Business Process Management will be responsible with assisting the budgeting and process management of the IT department.   • Collaborate with department heads to align financial planning with organizational objectives.
  • Assist with financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, billing, and collections.
  • Conduct regular financial audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and forecasts to support decision-making within the IT department.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or information technology or in a closely related field in which you have a strong knowledge of the responsibilities of this job
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related role
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, purchase to pay process, IT asset management, budget management, performance tracking and analysis
  • Computer skills to effectively use software to analyze budget information, create KPIs and reporting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Power BI, SAP FICO and enterprise systems for procurement, invoicing and expense management
  • Analytical skills and aptitude with large datasets, spreadsheets and SQL
  • General understanding of business functions; energy industry knowledge is a plus
  • Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint
  • Proficient in using ServiceNow is a plus

Our Engie Belgium Regulatory and Public Affairs (RAPA) Team

Our RAPA team plays a crucial role in shaping the vision, strategy, and development of regulatory and public affairs activities for ENGIE in Belgium. We cover a broad spectrum of activities, including renewables, gas and electricity supply, thermal power generation, flexibility assets, nuclear energy, green mobility, trading, portfolio management, hydrogen, and biogas.

RAPA Activities:

  1. Building Networks: We establish connections with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  2. Positive Influence: Upholding ENGIE’s interests constructively and transparently.
  3. Comprehensive Involvement: We partner with all Engie business activities in Belgium.

Your Responsibilities as Senior Regulatory & Public Affairs Manager - Federal Team (M/F/X)

Specific Focus:

  • Electricity Security of Supply Issues: You’ll play a pivotal role in further developing the capacity remuneration mechanism and addressing other critical electricity market design topics, such as Contracts for Difference (CfD) and regulations for power plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Stay informed about evolving legislation and regulations.
    • Evaluate their impact on ENGIE’s business operations.
    • Ensure adequate advocacy activities and defend ENGIE Belgium interests and positions.
    • Key mission is to positively inspire and influence relevant regulatory and political frameworks.
  2. Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders:
    • Exchange information and collaborate closely with various Belgian Engie business units.
    • Work closely with legal and communication teams.
    • Engage with colleagues in our EU advocacy team.
    • Cooperate with internal study centers (e.g., Impact study teams).
  3. Engagement with External Stakeholders:
    • Interact with federal BEGOV cabinets and federal energy administrations.
    • Engage with the federal regulator and Belgian Transmission System Operators (TSOs).
    • Participate in lobbying activities through sector organizations like Febeg and EU sector organization Eurelectric.
  4. Reporting and Advocacy:
    • Manage reporting requirements for the federal regulator and administration.
    • Actively participate in external stakeholder events.
    • Publicly defend Engie Belgium’s interests.

Your Qualifications as Senior Regulatory & Public Affairs Manager - Federal Team (M/F/X)

  • University Degree: Whether you’re a civil engineer, commercial engineer, lawyer, or hold another relevant degree, your educational background is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the energy sector, authorities, or consultancy. Knowledge of power market functioning is a significant advantage.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Provide procurement support to all South African operational entities across a defined set of categories, assets, owners and O&M companies.
  • Implement the defined short and medium term procurement strategy with all concerned departments.
  • Consolidate the requirements from the entities, consult the market, identify opportunities to implement framework agreements and work closely with entities to place contracts and purchase orders.
  • Execute the sourcing events. Run the full process from start to finish.
  • Identity business synergies between the operating entities.
  • Support assets during the construction phase of the plants.
  • Coordinate entities’ needs by activity in compliance with Category Management and Hub/Entity Procurement organizations, rules and governance.
  • Contribute to achieving the department savings and performance targets.
  • Work closely with the H&S teams at the sites to implement the Engie minimum HSE standards for all sub-contractors.
  • Enforce the Group procurement policy and governance when procuring all goods and services.
  • Support the warehouse stock, inventory, ordering, and replenishment process for the entities in the scope.
  • Ensure good relations with suppliers and vendors and build up a vendor database;
  • Support the implementation and roll out of digital tools for procurement such as the ERP system;
  • Assist with procurement reporting and data collection as and when required.
  • Develop local suppliers and ensure compliance to the Economic Development objectives of the operational entities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Help internal clients to formalise / express their needs

  • Assist with and optimising procurement requests.
  • Clarify and challenge the details of these requests.

Ensure the procurement is completed at the best conditions (cost, quality, lead time & payment terms)

Within the framework of the procurement category policy produced for a Group category:

•            Based on requirements, identify the budget and establish tender assessment criteria.

•            Issue RFP’s for tenders / requests for quotation among target suppliers.

In other cases, manage the whole Procurement process:

•            Based on requirements, identify the budget and establish tender assessment criteria and procedure.

•            Scan the market to identify potential suppliers.

•            Roll out the tender process.

•            Identify, analyse, evaluate, execute and document and exception (emergencies and urgencies) to the process with the proper authorisations.

Negotiate the specific terms and conditions with the suppliers.

Finalise the supplier and prepare the contract / purchase order.

 

Ensure proper execution of the contract / purchase order

  • Ensure Purchase orders / contracts are approved according to the Procurement delegation.
  • Assist internal stakeholders to ensure the supplier performs its obligations.
  • Monitor supplier disputes with internal stakeholders.
  • Measure operational and economic performance of the supplier (including CSR).

Co-ordinate with suppliers and internally

  • Interact / co-ordinate the network of PO agents and requestors
  • Implement in the procedures and tools and deploy internally new signed contracts
  • Manage supplier relationships

Reporting and feedback

  • Provide reliable and comprehensive reports and feedback, in order to improve the efficiency of the procurement strategy and supplier performance plan.
  • Contribute to the performance plan.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement or supply chain.
  • 5 years’ functional experience covering procurement, supply chain and logistics.
  • Experience in operational procurement preferably in power plants.
  • CIPS level 4 or higher is preferred.

  • 5-10 years’ operational experience managing EPC and large contractors for industrial projects.
  • Experience in energy related projects is preferred.

 

Technical  Knowledge

 

  • Strongly autonomous, possesses leadership and influential qualities.
  • Highly analytical and capable of leading complex procurement projects.
  • Experience in complex negotiation.
  • Fluent in English.
