Project Development Manager

What You Can Expect

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the market. In this role you will support the development of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition. Efficiently communicate complex development situations, and work through development issues from the start of development through construction. Travel as necessary for siting, development and commercial activities as required to keep development on track.

 

Every day in this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/ Engineering, Procurement, Construction “EPC”, financing and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout CAISO.

 

  • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in CAISO, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control
  • Coordinate engineering activities in pursuit of permits and as required for interconnection matters
  • Work closely with engineering team in support of design and EPC process

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental, Science, Management, or another Analytical field required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ of work experience of which a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in CAISO or other Independent System Operator “ISO” with energy storage or renewable energy development
  • Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects, within CAISO or other ISO
  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements
  • Understanding of the CAISO market or other ISO with particular focus on interconnection, regulatory and offtake matters
  • Ability to evaluate development status and efficiently inform critical decision making with management

 

Additional Details

Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time with the need for some overnight trips

Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

  

Compensation

Salary Range: $134,400.00 – $207,000 USD, annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As an Augmented Maintenance Project Support (AMPS) Technician or Traveling Solar, Wind, Bess Technician, your role involves providing onsite support services in the central region of Texas and surrounding areas. You’ll be responsible for project commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, analysis, maintenance, repair, and upgrades of operational assets. These assets include wind turbines, solar panels, BESS storage technology, and high or medium voltage substations. Your focus will be on optimizing generation availability, improving operational reliability, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Reporting to the Director of Field Services (AMPS), you’ll deliver reactive, predictive, and preventive maintenance support, adhering to NERC requirements for inspection, testing, and documentation. This encompasses a wide range of equipment, from wind turbines and solar inverters to batteries, weather stations, PV arrays, breakers, transformers, regulators, capacitors, and reactors.

 

As an active participant in the behavior-based safety program, ensure that all team members and contractors comply with safety procedures and task-oriented job safety analyses. Communicate and enforce site safety rules through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and meetings. Demonstrate procedural compliance in site operation and maintenance by following established procedures. Facilitate daily work, including report production. Inspect, operate, and repair site equipment both directly and remotely. Coordinate High Voltage (HV) switching and curtailments with local utilities and the Independent System Operator (ISO). Maintain site equipment to the highest standards for availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability. Use work planning skills, schedule activities, and follow up to ensure work conformance. Conduct routine inspections, prepare oil analysis samples, and use safety tools and personal protective equipment (PPE). Manage on-site work coordination among contractors and vendors, support technology upgrades, and maintain cleanliness. Comply with contractual and legal obligations impacting plant operation. Provide equipment operation training to contractors and other site employees. Consistently apply Job Safety Plan techniques, hazard controls, and permits to work (LOTO) when addressing plant abnormalities and equipment failures. Utilize computerized Work Order, Purchase Requisition, and Receiving software.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors or Equivalent Military or Trade school
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Battery Energy Storage Systems, (BESS), Wind generation sites, Utility scale power plants, Sub-station POI, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance. Renewables Solar and BESS construction experience or commissioning power plants a plus
  • HV Experience. Trades qualifications and certifications acceptable: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician)
  • Obtain AVO certification or equivalent as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Be proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages up to 70% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Ability to travel nationally at short notice and work for periods of time remote from your home to support our operational assets
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

Compensation

What You Can Expect

As an Environmental Director, you will oversee all environmental permitting and licensing requirements for renewable energy projects in the US and Canada spanning from the initial stages through to the start of construction.   • Lead and manage the environmental permitting, entitlement, and compliance assurance requirements for wind, solar, and battery storage projects
  • Accountable for compliance with all applicable environmental and permitting requirements for projects during development, construction and operations 
  • Responsible for scoping, contracting and managing consultants and contractors for permitting, environmental and regulatory services 
  • Oversee the implementation of environmental surveys including, but not limited to: biological resources, vegetation resources, wetland and stream delineations, cultural resources, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a Register of Environmental Legislation of all applicable environmental regulations and for providing strategic advice to senior management of how to mitigate associated risk 
  • Review and track environmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop quarterly and annual reports analyzing trends and developing environmental objectives and targets to meet company environmental goals
  • Manage environmental risk assessments through the due diligence and audit process for existing facilities and potential new development project sites
  • Assess company environmental tools, processes and management systems and determine the level of organizational maturity.  Develop a strategy that will lead to a self-directed culture
  • Provide environmental technical advice to senior legal counsel when required to accurately interpret regulatory rules for compliance
  • Present solution alternatives when project issues arise and advise the Company’s executive management in clear, concise content and format to facilitate sound and timely decisions
  • Develop close working relations with federal, state, and local environmental protection agencies, influencing an outcome-based approach to legislative regulation interpretation and implementation
  • Create a service organization among all regional environmental advisors and managers to meet the permitting and licensing needs of Business Development in cost, schedule, and activity coordination
  • Share subject matter expertise across the international regions by leveraging the knowledge management platform to capitalize on environmental sustainability initiatives, strengthening the learning continuum
  • Evaluate and provide advice on environmental liabilities associated with purchase and lease of properties 
  • Manage implementation of company environmental tools (e.g. Environmental Management System (EMS) program)
  • Manage development of environmental reporting documentation as requested by head office in Paris, France (“GROUP”)
  • Collaborate among consultants, contractors, plant and corporate personnel to leverage their array of expertise when providing technical service in support of new projects and existing assets
  • Manage relationships between partners, suppliers, government bodies, contractors and communities regarding environmental matters
  • Develop and conduct training programs throughout multiple business units to inculcate a culture of environmental stewardship

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in Engineering or Environmental Science or related disciplines 
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of operational and managerial experience in an environmental compliance and business development role within the energy sector
  • Experience working with US and Canadian Federal and State/Provincial, and local government laws and policies relating to aquatic and terrestrial environments and land use entitlements relevant to renewable energy development
  • Experience working on projects on federal or Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act and general means for complying with those regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance strategies and processes    
  • Exhibit mastery of root cause failure analysis tools and their application for noncompliance events  
  • Possess superior verbal, written, interpersonal and public speaking communication skills when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders, to include media relations

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400 – $196,765 USD annually

What You Can Expect

As a Project Management Advisor, your role will involve leading all phases of energy projects, ensuring they’re completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and cash management—all while securing strong customer references. These projects will span energy efficiency measures, facility renovations, renewable generation installations, and carbon reduction strategies, helping public sector, commercial, and industrial customers across the U.S. become more sustainable, reduce costs, and improve operations.

 

Managing multiple projects simultaneously, you’ll oversee everything from early development through post-construction, including design, procurement, contract negotiations, and project implementation. Assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules will be key, along with handling technical aspects like scope development, conducting savings analysis, and assessing the feasibility of proposed solutions. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you’ll work closely with the Sales team to support customer presentations and interviews during project development. Partnering with the Legal department, you'll negotiate and prepare customer agreements and change orders, ensuring contractual obligations are met.

 

When it comes to budgeting, maintaining precise records of all cost components will be crucial. Any necessary adjustments will be promptly communicated to your supervisors. Together with the Construction Manager, you’ll establish a comprehensive project schedule, ensuring milestones are met and projects are completed on time. Your coordination with Accounting will ensure timely customer invoicing, and you’ll proactively resolve any payment delays. Compliance with local labor regulations will be part of your responsibility, as will overseeing the completion of monitoring packages and final job close-out.

 

This position will be remote, Illinois and will report to the Project Management Director.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a four (4) year degree in which you have gained a knowledge of construction management, engineering elements, and project management functions
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience in project management of complex projects including training and certifications
  • You are proficient with MS Office; including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Skillful in project accounting to manage project budgets
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Solid technical writing abilities
  • Capability to create and execute project development and delivery schedules

What You Can Expect

The Project Management, Advisor is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. In addition to assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules for individual team members, the Project Management, Advisor oversees various technical aspects of the project. Collaborating with the Sales team, you will evaluate and qualify opportunities and participate in customer presentations and interviews during the development phase. As one of the primary customer contact during the development and implementation phases, you will ensure complete customer satisfaction with ENGIE’s services. You will liaise with the Legal department to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Management, Advisor is also responsible for managing all cost components throughout project implementation, maintaining precise budget records, and promptly notifying supervisors of any necessary adjustments. You will work alongside the construction manager to establish a comprehensive project schedule with regular progress milestones, ensuring timely completion. Alongside these responsibilities, you actively engage with Accounting to facilitate monthly customer invoicing and address any payment delays or issues proactively. You will ensure compliance with local labor regulations and oversee the timely completion of monitoring set-up packages and final job close-out information.

 

This position is in Detroit, Michigan so there is an option of being remote within the state of Michigan and will report to the Project Management Director.
