Project Support Officer – BA Nuclear

Position in the BA organization
 

The Project Support Officer (PSO) is part of a PSO team dedicated to a Business Stream (e.g. FR/UK) in the Project Support Office section, integrated into the “Operational Performance” department of the Global Nuclear Business Area. The PSO teams report to the PSO Manager.

 

Role
 

Under the supervision of the project manager, prepare, coordinate and monitor the planning, scope, deliverables, project interfaces, risks and budget aspects of one or more projects during its development and execution phases. Provide support to project managers and project team members in the use of the Planisware project management tool to aid in the efficient and effective execution of projects.

Under the supervision of the Sales manager, to contribute to tender responses, both on the methodological part and on the planning load estimation part during studies, achievements, etc.

 

Responsibility
 

  • Construction of the workload plan with the teams concerned (Sales, Business Stream and Métiers), transcription of the workload into PLANISWARE and support for reporting the information necessary to keep the “Workforce Planning” up to date.
  • Support the project manager (PM) on the basis of his inputs, to build the initial scope of the project (planning and budget):
    • By proposing an adequate WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
    • By checking that workload plans are realistic and optimized, particularly with regard to production and associated deliverables
    • By ensuring that the schedule has enough margins (buffer).
  • Assist the CDP in monitoring the project:

o By integrating the progress of the various activities into the schedule.

o By analyzing the impact of activity advances and delays on the critical path of the project.

o By proposing "planning" optimization tracks in the event of deviation.

o By analyzing the relevance of the rest of the project and, if necessary, helping to update

o By helping the CDP to integrate scope changes into the schedule.

  • Collect update data from members of the project team if necessary;
  • Ensuring internal and external planning reporting;
  • Guarantee the effectiveness of project meetings by prior updating of the schedule;
  • Display the progress status of the project according to the indicators in force;
  • Define the best way to follow the deliverables on the project in coherence with the WBS (ex: directly in Planisware or a tool dedicated and correlated to the tasks concerned);
  • Help to integrate the interfaces and represent the potential impact of risks in the planning in a proactive way with the project managers and ensure that they are managed;
  • Participate in the issuance of reports relating to the management and performance of the project or portfolio of projects by Business Stream for all stakeholders for all aspects of project management (planning, scope, deliverables, interfaces, risks and budget):
  • Help define the key indicators (KPIs) to be monitored and the reporting associated with these elements,
  • Generate these KPI's, and the reporting associated with these elements.
  • Support the Project Manager in the management of the project risks

Profile

 

  • Hold an engineering degree or equivalent experience;
  • Have in-depth knowledge of planning principles with experience of 3 to 8 years in this field;
  • Have knowledge of the nuclear sector;
  • Demonstrate proactivity and take initiative;
  • Be well organized (priority management);
  • Have an analytical mind, a good sense of synthesis and be rigorous;
  • Know how to collaborate, work in a team, and be assertive;
  • Know how to communicate in Dutch and English (French is an asset)
  • Willing to go on Nuclear site on weekly basis (Doel or Tihange)

Laborelec's Metallic Materials Team is specialized in solving metal-related issues encountered by nuclear, thermal and renewable power plants, and in development of metal expertise for new energy solutions. Our primary task is to boost power plant reliability by analyzing and preventing damage, determining the life span of critical components and analyzing failure cases in the field. This work is complemented with long-term research and innovation projects for evolving (renewable) energy businesses and technologies.

 

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Your responsibilities as Expert Metallic Materials

 

  • You will be involved on welding problems, metal degradation and ageing issues, offering the opportunity to build up practical experience in the field and to enhance technical knowledge in one or more areas;
  • You act as technical consultant and project engineer for (complex) metal related problems and incidents. This encompasses examining customer queries, collecting the required technical information, elaborating inspection programs for on-site and lab testing, coordinating on-site interventions and lab analyses, interpreting and presenting results;
  • You work on failure and root cause analyses, and you will make recommendations to the customers in order to increase process quality, plant reliability and lifetime;
  • You will grow in your field of expertise and beyond by continuous on-the-job learning and by training opportunities;
  • You will collaborate across Laborelec's various departments and areas of expertise, and will be in direct contact with our various customers, both nationally and internationally.;

You work for nuclear power plants, in addition to conventional and renewable energy plants, and you will solve material issues for industrial installations around the world

  • Je voert een divers pakket aan praktische taken uit die verband houden met het behandelen van radioactief afval afkomstig uit de centrales: betonneren en laden van afval, lossen van vloeistoffilters vanuit loodkasteel, ionenharsen van de waterzuivering behandelen, voorbereiding en sortering van divers afval voor verdere verwerking in het afvalproces en het dagelijkse beheer van het collimagazijn

Within the Power & Infra Business Line, the Water and Green fuel team is working on CCGT, biomass energy plants and thermal industrial boilers, performing research activities, developing global solutions and managing services to customers worldwide.

More specifically, the Green fuel team is active in the following domains of expertise:

  • Biofuels/green (e)fuels use cases, focusing on biomass conversion technologies and biogenic CO2 production,
  • Greenification of energy assets (e.g. retrofit of fossil fuel boilers to biomass),
  • Combustion of biofuels and green (e)fuels in energy plants,
  • Certification of biofuels and green (e)fuels and related regulatory aspects,
  • Safety aspects (ATEX, HAZID, HAZOP) related to biofuels and green (e)fuels, including H2,
  • Biomass supply chains,
  • Calculation of greenhouse gas emissions and savings.

The experts of the team develop a deep understanding and experience of those technical domains in order to:

  • Offer operational expertise to both power plants and industrial assets to anticipate and solve technical problems they can meet, improve their operational excellence and prepare them for future challenges. We perform consultancy like missions at our customer sites as well as troubleshooting interventions.
  • Perform research programs for ENGIE and other stakeholders, where we :
    • map, assess, test and de-risk disruptive technologies,
    • support for consolidating return of experience and standardizing practices,
    • bring Innovation for A to Z optimization through own and co-development: innovative monitoring, modelling and forecasting.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Your responsibilities as Green Fuels and Biomass Junior/Medior Expert

 

•       You execute technical assistance tasks for the Green Fuels team under the supervision of more senior expert. Such activities may be related a.o. to biomass fuel analyses, biomass pretreatment and densification studies, biomass combustion studies, ATEX and HAZOP for safety, certification and regulatory issues for bioenergy applications etc.

•       You deepen your expertise in the green fuels activities of the team      

  • You execute and manage Research and Innovation projects to further identify, develop and unlock new promising technology developments within ENGIE,

•       You develop a strong technical network within your expertise field,

•       You start managing collaborations with partners and subcontractors,

•       You manage small to mid-size projects with good project management skills and a customer centric approach.

You might be required to intervene on site in Belgium and abroad.

Description Du Poste

Vous interviendrez principalement de Bruxelles sur la centrale nucléaire de Tihange sur les principaux programmes nucléaires et vous serez acteur du développement des compétences en I&C au sein de Tractebel en agissant en interaction avec les équipes en Belgique voir en France.

 

Principales missions confiées

  • Réaliser des études de conception de systèmes I&C en interface avec les systèmes nucléaires.
  • Etudes de base
  • Définition, étude et modification d’architecture de contrôle-commande,
  • Etudes de remplacement et ou d’ajout de nouveaux instruments,
  • Choix multicritères d’instruments,
  • Analyses de robustesse au séisme associées aux différents équipements et en interface avec la qualification des équipements,
  • Élaborer des cahiers des charges, des spécifications techniques et des spécifications matériels,
  • Coordination et suivi des études détaillées menées par des fournisseurs
  • Etudier l’intégration des équipements selon les contraintes d’installation et d’utilisation en interface avec les équipes système et mécanique,
  • Veille technologique et choix des matériels à prescrire en fonction des projets,
  • Participer aux activités liées à la qualification des équipements (gestion de l’obsolescence, dossiers de prélèvement sur site, …),
  • Gestion des contrats avec les fournisseurs
  • Consulter les fournisseurs et suivi de ceux-ci,
  • Animer et / ou participer à des réunions / relation Client et Fournisseurs

Profil

Diplôme

Formation de base : Ecole d’ingénieur ou diplôme universitaire avec une formation en Instrumentation / Automatique / Informatique Industrielle / Electro-Mécanique

 

Expérience

Nombre d’années d’expérience minimum : 10 ans

Expérience sectorielle : Nucléaire / Industrie (pharmaceutique, ferroviaire, spatial, chimique, …) / Oil and Gas

 

Compétences principales

  • Compétences en Automation, Instrumentation et Contrôle-Commande : Architecture I&C, Instruments, qualification nucléaire d’équipements, systèmes de contrôle-commande de sûreté et / ou de sécurité.
  • Connaissances de base en électricité (RGIE, matériel électrique, principes du calcul de câbles et sélectivité, …)
  • Controle/commande de processus moyennant relayage et électronique discrète
  • Lecture et interprétation de schémas fluïde (P&ID), unifilaires et électriques
  • Instrumentation et lignes de mesure et impulsion (pression, débit, température, …)
  • Une expérience dans la gestion de contrats techniques (tant la partie technique que contractuelle) est souhaitée.
  • Connaissance du fonctionnement d’installations industrielles et ou de centrales conventionnels et ou nucléaires. Une première expérience dans le domaine du nucléaire et/ou dans le domaine de l’engineering est un plus, mais pas indispensable.
  • Connaissance des codes de conception et des exigences spécifiques dans l’industrie et / ou le nucléaire (RG, RCC-E, IEC, etc…) est un plus.
  • Rigoureux, sérieux, autonome, vous possédez une forte capacité à gérer et à intervenir face à des situations imprévues. L’esprit d’équipe est une de vos qualités.
  • Un intérêt pour le coaching de collègues junior est un plus apprécié.

Taken

Je rapporteert aan de afdeling Operational Performance van Tractebel Nucleair en bent verantwoordelijk voor het ondersteunen van haar verschillende departementen Projecten en Métiers met de volgende taken:

  • Dagelijks beheer van het geïntegreerd management systeem IMS (kwaliteit, nucleaire veiligheid);
  • Sensibilisatie van de IMS processen  bij de teams (implementatie + training + monitoring + voortdurende ondersteuning);
  • Ondersteunen van de uitrol van processen in projecten en in de activiteiten van de verschillende Métiers;
  • Beheer van non-conformiteiten, klachten en klanttevredenheid;
  • Ondersteuning van het proces van continue verbetering;
  • Ondersteunen en uitvoeren van interne en externe audits (certificering, klant, leverancier, enz.)
  • De toepassing van processen bewaken (interne controles organiseren, indicatoren opstellen en bewaken, afwijkingen identificeren, actieplannen en verbeteracties beheren, enz.)
  • Ondersteuning voor ISO 19443, 45001, 14001 certificering, enz.

 

Profiel

Basisopleiding: Met een ingenieursdiploma of gelijkwaardig, beschikt u over een aanzienlijke initiële ervaring m.b.t. kwaliteitsborging als onderdeel van uw opleiding of een andere cursus, idealiter in de nucleaire industrie en in een studiebureau.

Missions

Rattaché(e) au département Operational Performance de l’entité Tractebel Nucléaire, vous serez en charge principalement d’accompagner les différents départements Projets et Métiers dans les missions suivantes :

  • Sensibilisation (mise en place + formation + suivi + animation continue) des équipes aux processus du Système de Management Intégré
  • Accompagnement du déploiement des processus sur les projets et les activités des différents métiers
  • Gestion des non-conformités, réclamations & satisfaction client
  • Animation de l’amélioration continue
  • Accompagnement et exécution des audits internes et externes (certification, clients, fournisseur,…)
  • Surveillance de l’application des processus (organisation de contrôles internes, mise en place et suivi d’indicateurs, identification des écarts, gestion des plans d’actions et des actions d’amélioration...)

Profil

Formation de base : De formation ingénieur ou équivalent, vous justifiez de 1ères expériences significatives dans le cadre de votre parcours de formation ou autre, idéalement dans le milieu du nucléaire et en bureau d’études pour des activités d’Assurance Qualité.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities as Agile Coach

  • Coach and train agile teams in an IT/digital environment. Foster cross-team collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement using Scrum/Less practices.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Guide the team in its agile transformation journey, help all contributors adopting the Agile values and practices effectively.
  • Mentor and coach the leadership team to embrace their roles as servant leaders, facilitating a culture of empowerment and accountability.
  • Provide “on the job” support to Scrum Masters and Product Owners, ensuring alignment with Agile methodologies and best practices, helping the Product Owners in backlog prioritization.
  • Guard the quality of delivery by ensuring the quality standards before software is shipped to production.
  • Eliminate impediments or issues beyond the team’s authority. Address these issues so that the team can remain focused on reaching its sprint goal.
  • Guide the teams while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Help the teams in interpersonal conflicts and opportunities for growth. Raise people & delivery issues to the leadership team when internal team processes have failed to resolve the issue; help persons and streams through changes.

Work Environment

The activities of Rehabilitation of Industrial Sites (RIS), in which you will be active, include carrying out studies and following up the works to be carried out regarding the removal of asbestos and the demolition of power plants and industrial facilities, waste management, soil and groundwater remediation. Furthermore, RIS is actively involved in the redevelopment of brownfield sites integrating all these activities in a broader context. 

RIS focuses mainly on complex demolition assignments and this both in a national and international context. You will be supervised by a Sr. Project Manager with 20 years of experience in the execution of national and international demolition assignments. Due to the strong growth of the activities, we are looking for  (young) engineers with interest in the demolition sector and who want to develop quickly to project manager. 

Tractebel has a philosophy of flexible working hours and work locations. You will join the team in Ghent for at least 2 days a week. On the other days you can work at home or go on site when required, thus avoiding long travel times and balancing work and private life.

 

Job Description

  • You will think and collaborate in the execution of (selective) demolition assignments, including asbestos remediation, while preserving historically and architecturally important parts of the buildings; 
  • You help carry out preparatory surveys prior to demolition work; 
  • You follow up and supervise the execution of demolition works; 
  • You will participate in integrated multidisciplinary teams for remediation and redevelopment of highly contaminated industrial sites; 
  • You will also be involved in project management and follow up the various aspects: planning, budgeting, safety, ... as well as the technical quality of the project
  • You will have the opportunity to be co-responsible for the further development of the demolition sub-product. 

 

Profile

  • You have a bachelor's in construction or master's degree in engineering, preferably structural engineering; 
  • You have min. 10 years of relevant work experience; 
  • You are dynamic, communicative and customer-oriented; 
  • You are a team player;
  • You are organizationally strong, you can switch well between different parallel projects;
  • You are fluent in Dutch with a good knowledge of English, knowledge of French is a big plus!
