Job Purpose:

As a Data Center Manager, you will be responsible for developing an established team, as well as leading and assisting in the development of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Your duties will include day to day organization and maintenance across a significant joint venture data center in UAE, where you will also take responsibility for budget management and have direct customer engagement. The Data Center Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center. The Data Center Facility Manager will assist in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People management of a DC team of shift engineers/technicians and other support functions.
  • Provides the team with technical support and advice on complex critical issues. Acts as SME and leads team members' training.
  • Reviews specialist contractual reports and activities and internal reporting. Vendor reports, internal reports, KPI’s.
  • Leads the sites in the maintenance and up keeping of all Data center infrastructure according to up time standards. Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience. Advises upon implementation of engineering global standards.
  • Leads that all repairs performed on all Data center infrastructure are according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and standard methodologies.
  • Liaises with other departments within organization.
  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident.
  • Assists with root cause analysis, incident resolution and makes recommendations for eliminating potential problems.
  • Holds reviews with customers and forms part of escalation.
  • Manages operational budgets.
  • Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety of support teams and drive them from conception to completion.
  • Coordinates daily with a multitude of third-party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs.
  • Planning 24X7 Resource availability and readiness for backup/emergency.
  • Understanding confidentiality of Mission Critical business and ensuring Team to follow the same.
  • Motivate a culture of clear communication to earn customer’s Trust and deliver results.
  • Communicate Clear updates to business and Highlight the Progress/Risks proactively.
  • Ensuring Change Management with appropriate Approvals is followed.
  • Conduct regular 1 to 1 with Team and clear communication of Business expectations.
  • Facility availability as per the Agreement with minimal downtime as per SLA.
  • Reviewing SOO for the MEP systems and ensuring Team follows the same.
  • On-call availability to take care of any breakdown or planned critical maintenance
  • Ensuring, Team understands the criticality of live systems & follows Change Management process.
  • Submitting the Monthly report for Site’s performance and deliverables as per SLA.
  • Strict follow-up of resources to deliver results within a given deadline.
  • RCA analysis and implementing learning from past incidences.
  • Enterprise Asset management and maintaining Critical Spares.
  • Improving PUE and touching all the key areas that impact the PUE derivatives.
  • Challenging the existing Set-up to find any SPOF.
  • Conduct Utility Failover Testing as per company’s policy.
  • Reviewing the Facility requirements and being able to identify must to have and Good to have.
  • Maintaining documentation like SOP, EOP, MOP, Policy etc.
  • Vendor Onboarding and budgeting / planning of future expansions.
  • To ensure that all the resources (Engineer’s / Technicians/ Supervisor) are confident to run Operations and if needed conduct necessary Training.
  • Reporting to Management with involved Risks and Future capacity planning.
  • Work in-line with customers like TPM, Construction managers, Logistics, Security, IT Team, procurement, finance etc.
  • Ensuring that drive for energy efficiency is not reducing capacity safety margins and system redundancy.
  • Increasing the importance of proactive maintenance and smart Tools like (DCIM).
  • Motivating SME’s to Raise the Bar in their Key Area’s and cross-functional knowledge sharing 360 Deg Feedback for improvements and enhancements.
  • Coming up with more innovative idea’s to encourage automation for delivering better output.
  • Having a Disaster Management plan in place.
  • Enhancing Safety culture onsite and motivating QHSE best practices.
  • Having all the Vendor/support partner’s Contact/Escalation List updated.
  • Highlighting and preplanning the Decommissioning / Replacement of EOL Assets
  • Support in snagging and de-snagging of the new expansions with continuous follow-ups to project Teams.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of power systems (UPS', Control Panels, DB’s, Busway systems, Generators)
  • Knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, Chillers, VRV)
  • Knowledge of ELV Systems (DDC, BMS, Access Control System, CCTV, Fire alarm system)
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and associated switch gear and Distribution Panels, Control circuits, DX Units, & ELV Systems
  • Skill in installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of MEP system equipment’s and components

Purpose of the Job

 

  • Team lead of the regional FP&A cluster AMEA Flexgen and accountable for the reporting of this perimeter.
  • Monitor, analyse, challenge and report the business and financial and operational results of the assets under his/her business control responsibility (in addition to the team lead role), within the values, compliance principles, policies and rules of ENGIE and according to its strategy and objectives of results.
  • Take an active role in the operational finance and notably in monitoring and reviewing the financial matters across the assets under his/her responsibility and in providing advisory to finance leadership team, the ENGIE Board members and the assets CFO/Finance teams.

 

Reporting

 

•   The selected candidate will report to the Head of FP&A AMEA and the country CFO.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Lead the regional MBR/QBR reporting cycle for the cluster ‘AMEA GBU – Flexgen’.
  • Be accountable for the yearly Budget and medium-terms plans, and within-year re-forecasts, and risks and opportunities for the cluster ‘AMEA GBU – Flexgen’.
  • In addition to the team lead role, being accountable for a dedicated asset cluster with regards to data retrieval, analysis, consolidation and monthly reporting. Ensure that the regional reporting is accurate, complete and reported in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating with the FP&A HQ and conso teams on any consolidation matters.
  • Contribute to the compliance of all companies with finance & accounting policies of group.
  • Provide support to the yearly impairment testing exercise.
  • Challenges, inquires, and consolidates best estimate KFI forecasting, risk and opportunities’ analysis for a dedicated asset perimeter.
  • Prepares, consolidates, and reports global business unit related scorecards.
  • Participate actively to the periodic enterprise risk assessment of the business and provides support to the Tax teams.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis as required or needed by stakeholders / internal clients.
  • Preparation and reporting of early warning reports.
  • Coordination, preparation, analysis and consolidation of rep. letters.
  • Monitor new regulations, in particular with respect to finance, accounting and fiscal matters, and assess the impact on the business.
  • Be accountable for and set up procedures related to timely and qualitative statutory reporting processes and for reconciliation process between financial statements for local purpose and those report for consolidation under the Group.
  • Support and contribute to financial, and risk management (injection, hedging and treasury) decisions in coordination with ENGIE Corporate Finance.
  • Monitor, support and contribute to the cash upstream activities in coordination with ENGIE Corporate Finance.
  • Review financial information and advise the country CFO, the Engie Board members and the asset CFO/Finance teams on all finance matters.
  • Contribute to ‘smart’ reporting and analytics (SG&A and other) of a dedicated perimeter.
  • Provide support to ad hoc financial topics

Qualifications

 

•     University degree or equivalent;

  • Recognised accountancy qualification.

 

Experience

 

•      Min 10 years’ experience in Finance / Accounting / Business Control / transactional finance, etc.

  • Experience of external audit with significant audit firm / or within a multinational industrial and asset-based company is preferable.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

•            Familiar with complex organizations (multi-cultural, wide geographical scope, multi-disciplinary, listed subsidiaries, or with minority interests or strong partners)

•            Deep understanding of IFRS.

  • Strong knowledge of finance (business control, international accounting standards and consolidation, tax regulations, financial analysis, valuations, etc…)

•            Strong analytical skills.

•            Strong team lead skills.

•            Strong soft skills (communication, negotiation, etc…)

 

Business Understanding

 

•     knowledge of the business models and risk allocation schemes applicable to long-term project financed assets (independent power producers (IPP) schemes) preferable.

 

Language

 

  • Strong and excellent communication skills in English.
