Key Responsibilities

 

ENGIE has built the Global Performance Cockpit (GPC), which is an unprecedented repository allowing the Group to steer its operational and financial performance through timely information. Vast amounts of data from diversified sources are ingested, transformed and managed in a solution called Foundry powered by Palantir. The solution enables access on laptop, PC and tablets. Today, the GPC is operational and used daily by ENGIE’s Global Leaders (more than 200 unique visitors per month). The whole value chain of ENGIE is covered, meaning 60 KPIs across all Global Business Units are integrated at top management level. The overall governance includes assignment of data owners to ensure data quality.

 

GPC centralizes in one single place all operational and financial performance KPIs. Part of these KPIs were already followed in other tools, while new KPIs were built based on a central repository and the possibility to align and mix data from different sources (operational, finance, external…).

The strength of Foundry is to structure, order and transform data. The data model is easy to build and the power of calculation is efficient.

The GPC developer will be part of a center of expertise lead by a Technology leader in Foundry and will contribute to the further development of GPC and therefore to the increase of adoption in the entire Group.

In particular, the associated responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with data-owners in the organization to gather technical details about sources,
  • Understanding data sources and becoming subject matter experts on them in order to plan integration into the ontology,
  • Globally, contributing to the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of the data-centric software including APIs, cloud-based architectures, libraries, toolbox. To do so,
    • Working with use case leads or data owners to ingest data sources in mainly two data repository
      • A data lake in Amazon Web service technology called Common Data Hub (CDH)
      • A data management solution in Foundry powered by Palantir
    • Ensuring the frequency of updates is aligned with business requirements,
    • Developing of the ontology in Foundry from existing production pipelines,
    • Making data available to users by building specific views according to business needs,
    • Ensuring clean, reliable, and compliant connections between Foundry, Common Data Hub and source systems,
  • Adhering to the standard project pipeline (Raw -> Transform -> Ontology -> Workflow), and other project standards, such as tags.
  • Building overview of the Data Lineage (from data flows, data transformations inside applications).
  • Providing clear documentation of the business rules embedded in the systems and potentially manage or help solving Data Quality issues.

 

 

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 or more years in Data Engineering or Data Scientists functions.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with Spark/distributed computing mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of the Foundry (Palantir) ontology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) best practices.
  • Familiarity with managing data ingestion from source systems using agents.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into code, managing data pipelines end-to-end to deliver production-ready data to end-users.
  • Typescript experience is a plus.
  • Experience deploying models into production is preferred.
  • Experience in working with no-code/low-code tools to query databases, define variables, and create responsive front-end and user-facing applications.
  • Data visualization competences are also very important.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with business and technological stakeholders and peers alike.
  • Ability to work in an agile way.
  • Experience and ability in using “soft skills” or “people skills”.
  • Fluent in English

With a view to harmonization, ENGIE has embarked on a major program to transform its processes and IT tools. This project, which extends over several years, concerns all the entities of the group and requires a sustained support. 

 

To implement this support, we are looking to recruit a : 

GET Master Data Management & MDG Expert (M/F) 

The head office is based in Courbevoie (La Défense), but the physical presence on the head office is not mandatory. We are also looking for international profiles.

 

The GET program aims to deliver the future business and IT core model with a central “one ERP / One ARIBA” platform. The functional context of the program covers a set of functional areas including accounting, controlling and procurement as main areas.

The GET program offers a unique opportunity to onboard on one of the most ambitious and strategic Enterprise transformation programs with a very high IT footprint with S/4 & SAP ARIBA as central IT components. Innovation is at the heart of GET Program with an ambition to implement a best in class processes & solution.

The GET Master Data Management & MDG Expert role is proposed to reinforce the internal team supporting the core model delivery and coordinating the pilots/rollouts.

This role will be N-2 to GET IT Lead and directly reporting to the core model IT lead.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bring high level expertise on MDM and especially SAP MDG
  • Help the business teams in business requirement definition and ensure coherence with the SAP capabilities
  • Responsible for reviewing the integrator delivery and challenge the proposed solutions
  • Align with the business team to ensure the proposed solution is aligned with the core model and the program guidelines
  • Work with the integrator teams and SAP teams to secure design authority presentations for arbitrations
  • Secure testing phases and ensure quality of test delivery by the IT integrator
  • Drive discussions in multi-cultural / global context with multiple stakeholders

 

Position requirements

  • Very good knowledge of the SAP MDG and overall the MDM area.
  • Understanding the process of translating business requirements and processes into data collection and usage principles in MDG.
  • At least 5 years experience in similar position
  • Good references in the previous experiences with other customers
  • Fluent English (oral/written)
  • May require national & international mobility.

Your role will be to :

•Ensure that Process Safety Principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase of each project
•Define process safety deliverables required for the scope of the project and regulatory requirements
•Prepare the safety related scope of work for the engineering contractors for the feasibility engineering
•Oversee the studies (generally Safety Concept and Consequence Modeling).
•Participate proactively in (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL …) studies and project technical reviews, and to monitor, follow up and assess agreed recommendations and ensure their implementation
•Interpret regulatory requirements for different countries and ensure that the appropriate studies are identified and developed during the project phases in a timely manner
•Liaise with the client / partner in terms of permitting support and interfaces in relation with safety aspects
•Undertake risk assessment to determine whether safeguards are adequate to mitigate hazards (SIL, LOPA, fault tree…)
•Prepare and evaluated the HSE prequalification questionnaires and to support the bid assessment processes
•Prepare the RFQ (safety aspects)
•Track progress on projects ensuring that deliverables are undertaken in a timely manner and at the required quality
•Interpret and make recommendations based on findings of QRA and Fire and Explosion studies or similar to ensure that the findings can meet the requirement by the regulatory authorities of the country.
•Ensure that a risk based approach is undertaken to the development of the project (which may be over and above the basic prescriptive requirements of the country).
•Produce/validate studies performed prior to submission to authorities for the permitting process.

Hydrogen Projects Transversal support (Post FID)

•Oversight of the EPC Contractors / Owner engineers 
•Liaison with the partners / clients / external stakeholders
•Prepare, direct or participate in HSE process and safety studies + risk assessments undertaken for commissioning, start up and operation of the projects
•Support for the Operations and safety Manual
•Management of safety related training 
•Preparation of Emergency Response Plan (these are not normally manned sites and therefore governance documents are likely to need to be prepared by TS GBU in the absence of regional competencies).

TS GBU
•Support on the Operational Excellence Industrial Safety Program; specifically the process safety reviews. 
•Review the current methodology and refine if necessary to ensure that it is appropriate to the size and risk of the entity / asset.
•Mentor a representative in each region in the Operational Safety Risk Program. 
•Identify (based on risk profiles) the order in which sites should be reviewed.
•Assist in the initial reviews of each region
•Maintain oversight of the Safety Critical Elements lists (which should be identified as a result of the review) and also other actions stemming from the reviews.
•Oversight and assist in drafting of management plan of the SCEs.
•Oversight of progress and ensuring that the timeline is being maintained.  
•Assist in incident / HIPO investigation of operational process safety 

Qualifications - Internal

As the successful candidate, you hold a Degree in Engineering / Chemical  Engineering; 
+7 years’ experience in : In design, Process safety, construction and/or operations in Head Office or affiliate preferably within the energy or process industry 
You have a wide experience in HSE (Process safety and Risk Management / Strategy, developing HSE culture, safety technical engineering, construction  (including  fabrication  yards),  operations  and  decommissioning, Quality Management and ISO accreditation.
•Good to excellent understanding of Operational safety
•Demonstrate effective understanding and application of Safety Regulations and Requirements appropriate to the industry and geographical areas, with a willingness to broaden your knowledge and scope on an additional technology such as Battery storage…
•Demonstrate understanding and application of process safety principles in reducing public risk
•Demonstrate understanding and experience of incident investigation and implementation of lessons learnt,
•Able to demonstrate direct influence of process safety culture
