Pre-Construction Project Manager II

As a Pre-Construction Senior Project Manager in Westminster, CO, you will be responsible for fostering grid scale wind, solar, and storage projects through the pre-construction phase of project development.  Successful execution of this position requires clear and consistent coordination of multiple project stakeholders including developers, contractors, vendors, owners, and financing partners.

 

Every day, you will provide project management coordination and support for large and complex wind, solar, and storage projects during the pre-construction phase of the project. You will be responsible for the managing request for proposal (RFP) process for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services and manage commercial aspects of all project related contract negotiations. You will also support pre-construction activity including site studies, surveys, preliminary engineering, and estimating and internal project capital expenditure approval processes to secure budget for Project Delivery scope.   

 

• Coordinate and support internal stakeholders including development, engineering, interconnection, and power marketing teams with Capex input requests.

•Coordinate and manage key project stakeholders including Balance of Plant (BOP) Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor. 

•Support major equipment (modules, wind turbines, batteries, and substation) procurement processes.

•Participate in the negotiation of key project contracts including Major Equipment Supply Agreements and BOP-EPC Agreement. 

•Ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan.

•Continually assess project risk and maintain project Risk Register during preconstruction phase.

•Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all parties involved in the development and approval of the project. 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

• 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent combination of technical training

• A minimum of 2 years of project management, procurement and/or heavy construction experience 

• Experience with various project & construction management software tools, e.g., Procore.

• Demonstrated ability to be organized and work on multiple projects simultaneously.  

• Strong Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).

• Superior leadership, communication, interpersonal skills.

• Proven track record of managing projects with results that meet all stakeholder goals.

• Ability to problem solve and achieve results by setting priorities and staying organized.

•Results oriented leader with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups.

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel within North America Region up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As the ROCC Operator I located in Houston, TX, you will be working under the supervision of the ROCC Supervisor and in collaboration with Engineering, IT and Operations stakeholders, to monitor and coordinate the Real Time operation of ENGIE’s 4.5 GW of renewable fleet of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets across North America from the 24/7/365 Renewable Operations Control Center to ensure stable and reliable operation of generation facilities.

 

Every shift, you will complete daily monitoring duties, to include maintenance of a thorough operations log and completion of shift checklists, track progress using CROW software, and work through a customized orientation packet designed for onboarding ROCC operators at ENGIE.

 

  • Ensure the reliable operation of ENGIE renewable assets, to include maintaining continual communication with on-site personnel and Asset Managers
  • Implement and coordinate ENGIE asset outages as needed to support preventive and corrective maintenance
  • During abnormal system operating conditions or when sites have individual problems, evaluate the situation, direct and coordinate the solution in collaboration with on-site personnel and ROCC supervision

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have an associate’s degree in engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g. power system technician, protection, and control technologist)
  • You are willing to obtain a PJM Generation Dispatcher certification within 12 months of start date
  • You are eager to gain knowledge in wind and solar generation
  • You are familiar with power system equipment and technology
  • You are willing to gain knowledge on NERC Standards, both O&P and CIP, as they apply to Real Time operations and a medium-impact control center environment
  • You can identify and respond to plant and Bulk Electric System (BES) condition by modifying plant control setpoints for active and reactive power, isolating faulted power system elements and restoring forced outages
  • You can communicate and coordinate with other BES entities  Transmission Operators, Independent System Operators, and Reliability Coordinators
  • You can execute switch orders prepared by Engineering and issuing work clearances to field maintenance crews
  • You can dispatch field maintenance crews to investigate abnormal conditions, and log actions, communications, and abnormal conditions for future review

  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, modified DuPont model

Compensation

The programme is a key pillar for the future of the R-GBU, and for O&M activities and asset management we have chosen to implement SAP management modules (BM).

In this context, the R-GBU Digital team is looking for a : IT Functional Architect M/F

 

Your tasks:

  • Overview of the entire solution that is designed, configured and deployed.
  • Ensure good integration between the various modules of the solution, SAP and non-SAP
  • Ensure that the solution fits into the local and global digital ecosystem ("as is" and "to be")
  • Work with the R-GBU's business and technology managers to translate the R-GBU's requirements into solutions provided by the GET programme.
  • Responsible for overall functional coverage in business requirements.
  • Ensure the validation of design documents supplied by the GET programme
  • Lead the team of business analysts
  • Work with the GET programme to identify and evaluate solutions to ensure that the GET delivery meets the needs of the R-GBU.
  • Raise risks and issues
  • Create a clear view of data requirements and data quality, in collaboration with the Data Manager.
  • Prepare decision gates, such as the pre-DAB (Design Authority Board)
  • Align with business areas and countries on design, build, deployment and support.
  • Organise IT and business testing (UAT)
  • Support data migration to be prepared by countries and executed by GET
  • Contribute to post-commissioning support
  • Organising the contribution to change management

Your profile:

A graduate of an engineering school or university in IT, you will have at least 5 years' professional experience in an industrial environment.

You have good analytical skills, are customer-oriented and have a strong team spirit.

You have an excellent command of English and French.

Other languages such as Spanish or Portuguese are a plus!
