What You Can Expect

As the Operations Manager for 225 MWAC power plant situated in Gail, TX, called Long Draw Solar, you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising two technicians. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.

 

  • May need to provide technical and management support for the operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills

  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses
  • Knowledge of using equipment suitable for lifting up to 50 lbs, if necessary 

 

 

Additional Details

  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions to support other sites
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record

Compensation

Salary Range: $91,295 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels.   • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.


What You’ll Bring

Misión

A nivel de proyecto, será responsable de planificar y monitorizar el cronograma y los costes del proyecto, analizando las desviaciones y anticipándose a los impactos sobre los plazos y los costes. Apoyará al Project Manager y al equipo de proyecto para garantizar la consecución de los objetivos marcados, trabajando en todas las fases del proyecto y colaborando estrechamente con equipos multidisciplinares.

 

Además, dará soporte a nivel departamental en la elaboración de presupuestos, Cash-flow y KPI a nivel de portafolio, interactuando con el departamento de control de costes y apoyando la revisión y seguimiento de la planificación también a nivel de portafolio.

 

Funciones

  • Desarrollar y mantener la planificación por niveles de los proyectos en MS Project, integrando la estructura WBS adecuada del proyecto.
  • Realizar análisis de riesgos y proponer soluciones para mitigar posibles desviaciones en tiempo y costes.
  • Supervisar y actualizar los presupuestos, asegurando la precisión en la gestión financiera de cada proyecto y del portafolio.
  • Apoyar al departamento en la elaboración de presupuestos y Cash-flow, así como en la generación de KPI para el portafolio completo de proyectos.
  • Realizar el seguimiento y control del progreso de los proyectos en cada una de sus fases: permisos, compras, ingeniería, logística, construcción, puesta en marcha y cierre, manteniendo una visión global a nivel de portafolio.
  • Coordinarse con los Project Managers y los equipos técnicos para garantizar la correcta alineación de recursos y actividades en cada fase y a nivel departamental.
  • Preparar reportes de progreso y métricas de control tanto a nivel de proyecto como de portafolio para su presentación a la dirección y clientes.
  • Implementar y seguir las mejores prácticas de gestión de proyectos.

Requisitos: 

 

  • Grado en Ingeniería (preferiblemente Civil, Industrial o Energética).
  • Entre 3 y 5 años de experiencia en planificación y control de costes en proyectos de construcción, especialmente en energías renovables.
  • Experiencia en la gestión de todas las fases de un proyecto de construcción: permisos, compras, ingeniería, logística, construcción, puesta en marcha y cierre.
  • Experiencia en planificación y gestión a nivel de portafolio (preferible).
  • Nivel inglés B2-C1
  • Dominio de herramientas como MS Project, SAP, Office 365 y Excel.
  • Familiaridad con la estructura WBS y su aplicación en la planificación y control de proyectos.

As the BOP Technician, located in Rogers, TX you will serve as the primary BOP relay technician for the plant installing, maintaining, testing, adjusting, troubleshooting & repairing relay and control equipment in the electrical substation which may include electromechanical, solid-state and microprocessor protective relays, instrument transformers, indication and KWH/KW meters, controls to all substation equipment including breakers, transformers, regulators, capacitors, reactors and all associated equipment, and remote control equipment including various forms of SCADA.

We are currently looking for a Site Manager (PV Assets) for our PV plant in LLEIDA

 

Mission

 

We are looking for a Site Manager who, reporting directly to the Project Manager, will be involved in the following activities:

  • Implementation of the assigned project based on the elaborated Construction Plan.
  • Coordination of the resources assigned for the execution of the works.
  • Verification of all H&S Quality and environment aspects related to the execution of the works.
  • Processing of the Construction Site Journal on a daily basics.
  • Verification of the Work Progress based on the assigned schedule.
  • Support coordination of site meetings and processing of the Project Progress Report.

 

Functions

 

You will be responsible for the professional construction of the PV farm/s following quality, time, and budget guidelines, encouraging the Contractors to deliver the project safely and promoting a culture that prioritizes and ensures that H&S is an integral part of all work performed.

You will be responsible for technical supervision, site organization and operational control, safety, and reporting. As a technical manager, you are the interface between Engineering and Construction.

You will be on-site during construction being the first point of contact for contractors and third parties.

You control the progress reports, composing daily, weekly, and monthly ones, and the executed works so that they also conform to the plans and agreements made.

You will take action to deal and mitigate with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.

You perform tests to ensure conformity between the quality of work and specifications.

You also lead and actively participate in regular work meetings and other stakeholder consultation moments.

You will oversee the process all the way to commissioning and CoD, with the finality of handover to our Asset Management and O&M teams, ensuring project documentation requirements are met for the handover of projects upon completion.

You will ensure the compliance and enforce compliance of personnel under your charge with current legal regulations as well as internal rules and procedures.

 

Minimum requirements

 

• MSc Civil, Electrical or Mechanical or similar.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar positions in PV farm construction.

• Understanding of regulatory requirements for constructing and operating renewable assets in Spain.

• English B2

• Knowledge of PV industry best practices, standards, and related Spanish legislation.

• Knowledge of Construction phases within renewable projects, cost estimating, and budget forecasts.

• Office software, MS Project Planner
