What You Can Expect

As a Wind BOP Technician, you will operate and maintain the site, optimizing wind generation performance while prioritizing health, safety, and environmental compliance. You will actively participate in the safety program, ensuring all team members and contractors adhere to safety procedures and job safety analyses. Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Communicating and enforcing site safety rules through orientations, JSAs, and meetings, while overseeing daily work and coordinating with service providers and contractors
  • Operating and monitoring site equipment, maintaining high standards for equipment reliability and efficiency, and conducting routine inspections.
  • Managing contractors, serving as the primary contact for landowners, and coordinating on-site work, including maintaining the site in a clean and neat condition
  • Troubleshoot and recommend  improvements to plant performance, supporting operations at other sites during emergencies, and using Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to solve problems
  • You will also ensure confidentiality, comply with legal obligations, and support wind and solar assets for planned and forced outages, which may require overnight stays

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum High school diploma
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Solar generation, Wind generation, Thermal power, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors depending on site needs; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
  • Could involve some lifting / up to 50lbs with assistance

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $30.85 – $48.37 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Misión

  • Maximizar la disponibilidad de las instalaciones AT (subestaciones y líneas eléctricas) de ENGIE situadas en la zona centro sur de España, así como su vida útil

Funciones

  1. Gestionar de forma adecuada y eficiente los contratos de operación y mantenimiento de las subestaciones eléctricas de todo el porfolio de proyectos, tanto eólicos, fotovoltaicos como hidroeléctricos, gestionados por ENGIE en la zona Sur de Zaragoza, Logroño y alrededores.
  2. Participación en la definición del presupuesto operativo de los activos incluidos en su alcance (corto, medio y largo plazo).
  3. Participación en la negociación de contratos de operación y mantenimiento.
  4. Implementar los procedimientos de operación y mantenimiento locales siguiendo las guías maestras marcadas por el Grupo ENGIE.
  5. Participar en la determinación de los planes de mantenimiento anuales, trimestrales y quinquenales para cada una de las instalaciones.
  6. Evaluar y revisar los procedimientos de operación y mantenimiento garantizando un proceso de mejora continua.
  7. Coordinar junto con el Centro de Control asignado por ENGIE las operaciones de descargo en las subestaciones.
  8. Seguimiento de las órdenes y los permisos de trabajo en los activos de su perímetro. Desarrollar e implementar planes de acción que garanticen la máxima disponibilidad de los activos.
  9. Analizar la eficacia de las labores de operación y mantenimiento que permitan la mejora de la rentabilidad del negocio a través de la automatización del servicio y la optimización continua de los procesos tanto tecnológicos como organizacionales.
  10. Evaluación de la efectividad o eficiencia de los procesos.
  11. Implementación y cumplimiento de todas las normas medioambientales.
  12. Asegurar la implementación y cumplimiento de las Políticas de Seguridad e higiene, Diversidad, Ciberseguridad y Ética y Cumplimiento, así como de los procedimientos y procesos definidos en la organización.

Requisitos mínimos

  • Al menos 5 años en la realización de tareas de Operación y Mantenimiento de subestaciones eléctricas de alta tensión
  • Bachillerato o grado superior de FP (especialidad electricidad o similar)
  • Conocimiento del modo de realizar descargos en subestaciones y la aplicación de medidas de seguridad (LOTO).

Funciones

  • Seguimiento y análisis de las capacidades libres de REE y distribuidoras.
  • Apoyo en la elaboración, seguimiento y control del presupuesto para desarrollar el proyecto.
  • Seguimiento analítico de costes, estructuración y procesos del área de desarrollo de renovables.
  • Contacto permanente con proyectos a terceros greenfield. Negociación de contratos.
  • Soporte en la generación de documentación y presentación en los diferentes comités internos de desarrollo

 

Requisitos mínimos

Experiencia de 3-4 años en el área y 1-2 años en el sector de renovables.

  • Tramitación de solicitud de acceso y conexión para la evacuación de energía renovable a la red.
  • Tramitación/Permitting (proyecto administrativo, autorizaciones ambientales o de construcción, licencias municipales, etc.)
  • Procesos de negociación de contratos de co-desarrollo
  • Experiencia previa en control de costes y seguimiento de presupuestos.

What You Can Expect

This Environmental Development and Permitting Intern role is an opportunity to work with a Global Leader in Renewables Development. The Environmental Intern will work to support ENGIE’s Development Pipeline in North America and help to ensure that Projects are following best management practices (BMPs) to minimize environmental impacts and maximize biodiversity value of commercial-scale Renewables Projects.

 

In this role the Intern will support biodiversity studies, surveys, and micrositing efforts to minimize wildlife and wetland impacts, and support the Senior Advisor on compliance obligations, preparing development projects for construction-stage efforts, and support the pursuit of federal and state permits where necessary. The Intern will have the opportunity to coordinate with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Legal, Land Use, and Engineering obligations.

 

  • Complete assigned training and follow all ENGIE safety procedures (9 Life Saving Rules)
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, and site visits to wind and/or solar sites
  • Communicate using email, TEAMS meetings and phone calls
  • Review renewable environmental plans, surveys, and Best Management Practices (BMPs) documentation

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and Coordinaing the activities of the solar field team, including assigning tasks monitoring progress and ensuring an efficient workflow;

  • Operate, Maintain and Monitor the SF Plant Process;
  • Review existing maintenance strategies, spares and plant operational reliability standards are achieved to ensure successful plant availability and performance;
  • Interpret and Analyse alarms and plant defects;
  • Identify plant and operational plant deviations from OEM standards;
  • Investigate and recommend and/or implement corrective actions;
  • Review and recommend new solar field Maintenance plans, procedures and schedules for solar field equipment;
  • Perform and oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities in the solar field;
  • Perform troubleshooting activities as necessary along with the solar field technical assistants to determine failure causes and rectify defects found;
  • Participate in solar field performance and availability improvement or operations and maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects in the solar field design or installation. Attempt all possible actions of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high solar field availability;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned or instructed by the maintenance manager;
  • Monitor Solar field Maintenance activities, costs, and take necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance with approved plans and budgets;
  • Comply and enforce compliance with Safety rules & occupational health and safety regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical/Instrumwntation + 3 Years industrial/mineral processing/Manufacturing and processing/ Powerplant experience;
  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation + 5 years industrial and/or powerplant experience.

Experience 

  • Experience in maintenance and repair of instruments, PLC's and Control Equipment;
  • Experience in maintaining Parabolic through Collectors will be advantageous;
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics stystems;
  • Understanding of rotating electrical and mechanical equipment;
  • Experience in schedule and unscheduled maintenance planning and execution;
  • Experience in project management.

Misión:

La misión del Business Developer en el Departamento de Originación y Desarrollo de Renovables es la de gestionar la Originación (creación) de Proyectos de Energías Renovables en la División de Business Development de Renovables, a través de la selección de los emplazamientos, la realización o supervisión de los estudios de viabilidad, la identificación y negociación de terrenos con los propietarios de los mismos o la gestión y supervisión de los agentes externos que puedan aportar estas oportunidades para ubicación de nuevos parques de energía renovables. También participará en el reporte de costes de los proyectos en desarrollo, en los reportes necesarios para obtener las aprobaciones internas para el desarrollo de estos, y dará apoyo en proyectos clave para la empresa.

 

Responsabilidades del puesto

  • Participar en la originación del pipe de proyectos de RES, así como en el desarrollo de los mismos, desde la búsqueda de oportunidades hasta la negociación de los contratos de arrendamiento / compra de los terrenos y hasta la gestión y obtención de los primeros permisos, como por ejemplo el permiso de acceso.

  • Negociación y preparación de contratos de arrendamiento o compra de los terrenos.
  • Contacto permanente con red de socios externos para la contratación de terrenos. Negociación de contratos.
  • Estrategia de obtención del permiso de acceso, análisis de competidores, definición de planes socioeconómicos y sociales.

Your primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting, repairing, reconnecting, and inspecting electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.  At this site you will be working with high voltage energized equipment and must follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) grounding and other safety precautions. Collaborating with service providers and contractors, you will oversee daily work activities, produce various reports, operate site equipment, and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments. 

 

Ensuring compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards, you'll conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment. You'll actively participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment. Alongside routine inspections and serving as the main contact for landowners, you'll manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site. Gaining and maintaining GWO training is required, as well as participating in turbine climbing activities. You'll provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures. You will work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.  From time to time you will be required to support other wind assets during planned outages and emergencies, potentially requiring overnight stays. Furthermore, you'll be part of an on-call rotation and must reside within 50 miles of the site to respond promptly to outages and emergencies.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Wind generation, Power Plant, or Substation Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors depending on site needs; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
  • Could involve some lifting / up to 50lbs with assistance

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $27.00 - $43.51 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
