Senior PV Field Technician

What You Can Expect

As the Senior Technician you will be supporting projects and clients throughout the Northeastern United States.  In this region we are split between ground mount units and commercial rooftop units. We do not do residential work. Knowledge of IT and SCADA would be beneficial. You will have gained strong customer service acumen, discussing scheduling of preventative maintenance, problems found and recommending options or requirements to repair or maintain the customers equipment. Working remotely in the Northeast region, the Senior Photovoltaic (PV) Technician will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a large number of solar projects. 

 

Every day you’ll prioritize safety in everything that you do. You will be traveling to client sites, driving your Company provided truck. Servicing both ground arrays (up to 5 MW) owned by municipalities or corporations and smaller rooftop systems at some of your most recognizable retailers. Typical tasks are cleaning and testing panels, troubleshooting inverters, servicing, or updating networking / SCADA hardware/ software.

 

  • Review annual preventative maintenance service reports to identify issues that require corrective action 
  • Provide feedback to the Regional Service Manager and plan the corrective action for scope of work
  • Maintain detailed expense records for all service calls including parts costs, tools, mileage, and timekeeping 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience root cause analysis and repair of arrays and inverters; you will have learned to abide by and understand the safety requirements of the NEC electrical code, NFPA70 and OSHA 30
  • Troubleshooting experience with PV systems and/or electrical systems
  • Ability applying technical requirements to commissioning, troubleshooting of solar electrical generation systems, and monitoring communication equipment

 

 

 

Additional Details

  • Must be available to travel domestically 90% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range:  $41.39-$68.99 USD hourly

What You Can Expect

As our Senior Project Manager, at Georgetown University, you will support and manage Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) in buildings that reduce energy consumption and help Georgetown move towards a 40% reduction in energy use by 2031.The ECM Project Manager will be a part of the Georgetown Energy Partners (GEP) capital projects team based at Georgetown University’s campus. This team is responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $25M, over the span of 1-5 years.

 

Every day you will work with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects. You will also facilitate the review of mechanical designs – as well as the permits – that support the long-term energy reduction vision for the campus. You will report to the ECM Program Manager.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering or a relevant degree (such as Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering)
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a project management role, where you have gained expertise in construction management, stakeholder management, permitting, design and / or building automation systems (BAS)
  • You have expertise in financial and contractual aspects of capital projects involving both internal and external organizations
  • You will be responsible for assignments within the ECM Program that will include scope development, estimates, stakeholder management, contracting, cost development, cost tracking, project execution, commissioning, and closeout
  • You will utilize existing and develop new budgets and cost tracking devices. Provide input to long term financial planning.  Issue contracts, contract change orders and process invoices
  • You must monitor project progress in design and construction phases through regular contractor and stakeholder interaction both virtually and in person on work sites
  • You will manage the relationship with university stakeholders during the audit, development, and execution of capital projects
  • You will develop and maintain good relationships with the ENGIE subsidiaries and our partners
  • You will establish and maintain good working relationships with the University staff
  • You will liaise with ENGIE entities and colleagues for knowledge sharing

What You Can Expect
Our Chilled Water Plant Intern, located at the University of Iowa campus, will work closely with our plant staff. This team oversees chillers in four plants across campus and interfaces with systems in each building served by the chilled water system. The intern will gain insights into plant operations, contribute to materials inventory tracking development and execution, and learn to operate various systems.

 

We are actively seeking an intern available for 5-15 hours per week during the semester, with a commitment of 40 hours per week during the summer internship program. Our operational hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, and we provide flexibility within this timeframe for start and end times. This internship is open for the Spring/Summer semester, with employment planned to continue until December 31, 2025.

 

On a daily basis, you will collaborate with our Chilled Water Plant Manager, as well as the operations and maintenance teams. You will participate in diverse tasks such as data collection and analysis, modeling, and providing recommendations for system design enhancements, operational procedures, preventative maintenance programs, purchasing, and record-keeping systems.

 

  • Learn to independently identify maintenance needs and develop corrective work orders
  • Learn to efficiently develop and maintain results and analyses of the chilled water systems across campus, collaborating with Chilled Water management and planning staff to identify, document, and track chilled water system performance and maintenance needs
  • Develop the ability to independently identify operational procedures to draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventative Maintenance procedures
  • Gain experience in Maintaining equipment inventory databases, following the direction of Chilled Water management and planning staff. Inventory may be stored in spreadsheets, databases, or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), depending on dataset and usage requirements

What You Can Expect

As our High Quality Water Treatment Operator  at the University of Iowa campus, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily route coverage to meet the high-quality water needs of on-campus clients. Your duties are customer facing and include monitoring, operating, and maintaining water treatment systems to provide specialized finished water for various operational needs at the University of Iowa. High Quality Water operates and services the public water systems at Oakdale Water Plant, and MacBride Nature Recreation Area, and various high quality water and pool/spa water systems across the campus. Processes include chlorination, PH adjustment, other chemical injection, water softening, filtration, reverse osmosis, deionization, distillation, and ultraviolet disinfection.  You will also conduct flushing and disinfection as required for new construction piping systems, performing sampling and chemical treatments to meet NPDES permit discharge requirements. You will conduct water quality sampling and record operational parameters to ensure quality water is delivered efficiently.  You will perform or coordinate equipment maintenance tasks identified on your rounds. Additionally you will read meters, and perform data entry for billing and regulatory reporting. Clean plants and grounds.

 

Your typical day starts with a morning meeting to discuss planned activities, review previous day's activities, and outline longer-term plans. Following this, you will commence your assigned route, which includes collecting samples, reading meters, and checking operating conditions of equipment such as pressures, water quality, and volume. Visiting customers with on-site equipment, making chemical adjustments, logging samples, and performing operational checks, and responding to outages or quality issues in the water systems. Maintenance tasks include flushing, disinfecting of process equipment, and other minor or preventative maintenance such as filter replacement and UV bulb replacement. You will utilize Maximo to track time and parts for billing purposes and complete vulnerability assessments. Additionally, you'll use Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook) to ensure compliance and document testing and services for local, county, state, and federal requirements

 

This role primarily operates during day shifts, with occasional requirements for nights, weekends, and holidays due to on-call duties or planned/emergency outages.

The Project Manager Advisor is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. Assigned projects will include a combination of energy efficiency measures, renewable generation installations, and various carbon reduction strategies, to help public sector, commercial and industrial customers around the United States become more sustainable, save money, and improve processes in their plants and services to their end-users. In this role, you will manage one to several projects simultaneously from early development through post-construction, including design, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

 

In addition to assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules for individual team members, the Project Manager Advisor oversees various technical aspects of the project. This includes developing the project scope, conducting savings analysis, and ensuring the feasibility of proposed measures. Collaborating closely with the Sales team, they assist in customer presentations and interviews during the project's development phase. Furthermore, they liaise with the Legal department to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Manager Advisor is also responsible for managing all cost components throughout project implementation, maintaining precise budget records, and promptly notifying supervisors of any necessary adjustments. Additionally, they work alongside the construction manager to establish a comprehensive project schedule with regular progress milestones, ensuring timely completion. Alongside these responsibilities, they actively engage with Accounting to facilitate monthly customer invoicing and address any payment delays or issues proactively. Finally, they ensure compliance with local labor regulations and oversee the timely completion of monitoring set-up packages and final job close-out information.

 

This position will sit in San Jose or Oakland, CA and will report to the Director of Project Management.

Project Development

  • Support the Sales team in customer presentations, interviews, and public meetings (e.g., board and council sessions)

What You Can Expect

Our intern located at the University of Iowa campus in Iowa city, IA will be learning how to safely sample and treat water. This group maintains water treatment and measures water quality for buildings that are utilizing water softening, reverse osmosis, deionization, distillation processes and swimming pool and spa water quality, as well as heating and cooling loops.

 

Everyday is different in this internship. A typical day will include independently learning and ultimately conducting water sampling using prescribed techniques, and some light maintenance. You may assist with retrieval and analysis of sampling results, developing and maintaining trending of readings to help identify maintenance needs or design flaws leading to poor quality water.  You may also assist with the execution of m inventory tracking, using a variety of computer programs, and will learn to perform analysis of key data indicating need for replacement or upgrade of equipment to ensure quality water is delivered.

 

Objectives:

  • Be able to independently identify leaks and malfunctions in water treatment systems and contact the Water Services Planner to develop a Corrective Work Order in the Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS)
  • Efficiently develop and maintain results and analyses of water quality for systems across campus, working at the direction of the Manager, Quality Water Services, to help uncover water quality issues and maintenance needs
  • Maintain equipment inventory databases, working at the direction of Manager, Quality Water Services and/or Water Services Planner. Inventory could be retained in spreadsheet, database, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or ArcGIS, depending on dataset and usage

 

We are very flexible during the school year you can come in and train during any of our operating shifts, gaining hours and operational experience.  You will work rotating shifts on assigned weekends ( we operate three shifts).
