What You Can Expect

As our Electrical / Electronic Tech, you will be responsible for maintenance and repair of plant instrumentation and controls. On both a preventative / reliability basis and for emergency service work.   

 

Typically, job functions would include maintenance and repair of such equipment as generator instrumentation and controls, DCS and PLC systems, particularly Bailey Network 90 systems, combustion control systems, alarms, recorders, transmitters, computers. You will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must possess a high school diploma
  • You have completed training as an instrumentation & controls technician; with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance of plant equipment
  • You will implement and carry out required plant maintenance functions and repairs at various sites
  • You have experience coordinating with the activities of other maintenance and operational personnel as required and will be capable of conducting all necessary actions and functions independently and without direct supervision
  • You will troubleshoot complex electronic control equipment down to the individual printed circuit board and component
  • You can perform other tasks as required to fulfill the operational and maintenance requirements of the various plants and equipment including housekeeping
  • You will perform all duties consistent with safe work practices as is generally practiced in industrial environments, and in accordance with established Employer safety practices and regulations as delineated in the Employer’s Safety Manual.
  • You will be required to work overtime to cover vacations, illnesses, absences and other operational or maintenance requirements
  • You will train bargaining unit personnel not familiar with the plant to assist in their skill development
  • You will perform administrative functions as required by the Maintenance Management system, supervision, or others

Compensation

Salary Range:  $60.91 USD hourly

Your position is part of a bargaining unit represented by IUOE- Local 30. Many of the terms and conditions of your employment, including but not limited to work scheduling, wages, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits, will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement (the “CBA”) between the Company and the union.

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America is seeking a Chilled Water Systems Tech I for a critical role on our University of Iowa team. In this position, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repair tasks on the chilled water plant(s). This role is essential for providing a high-quality experience for our clients. Reporting to the Chilled Water Plant Manager, this position is located on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA.

 

Your day will begin with a safety or hand-off meeting, where you will be briefed on the status of the equipment and any issues that may have arisen during the previous shift. Following this, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of turbines, centrifugal chillers, pumps, electric motors, tower fans, and related equipment.

 

Key responsibilities include assisting in the installation and repair of pressure piping for compressed air, water, steam, domestic water, condenser water, chilled water, and condensate. Additionally, you will support the general maintenance of equipment such as chiller tube bundles, heat exchangers, tower fans, gearboxes, drive shafts, pumps, valves, air compressors, and all other plant-related equipment.  These tasks will require utilization of hoisting and rigging tools to move heavy equipment, and proper application of power and hand tools to perform repairs.

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
  • This role requires a minimum of two years of experience. Which can be a combination of education or experience that involves machinery, equipment and control systems related to utility or production plants 
  • Ability to work on call, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • You must be able to be on location at the University within one (1) hour when designated on call. 
  • After three (3) months of service, demonstrate proficiency in using the computer control system for plant operations and the building interface control system across all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
  • You will demonstrate after six (6) months of service the ability to determine when adjustments and repairs are necessary according to load requirements and or equipment problems 
  • You have the ability to obtain a Universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification after one (1) year of employment 
  • You have the ability to perform mathematical computations 
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively digitally, verbally, and in writing
  • You have the ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

What You Can Expect

As our Scheduling Advisor, you will be the primary scheduling expert / resource for project managers of major capital improvement projects for campus energy systems and new business development related to new partnerships with universities or commercial and industrial entities. These energy systems encompass the production and distribution of electricity, chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the distribution of natural gas.

 

Everyday you will support our Major Capital Projects team by delivering accurate and comprehensive schedules, setting standards, and defining the processes used to monitor, update, and analyze schedules to enable successful development and execution.

 

  • For business development projects or acquisitions, this role will coordinate with the Major Projects team composed of contracts managers, project managers, engineering, and project management office.

 

  • For projects at existing partnerships, this role will liaise with the other members of the Capital Projects Team (contracts team, project management team, and engineering team) including, but not limited to, Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Iowa University in Iowa City, IA and Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.

 

You will report to the Vice President of Major Capital Projects & IPOS.        

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technical discipline, construction management, or a related field
  • You have a minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in project scheduling; 3 years of experience with Primavera P6
  • You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for project scheduling, assisting Program / Project Managers with analysis and critique of schedules provided by Contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and other contracted parties; include third party provided schedule information in the project schedules to develop integrated master project schedule, from conceptual design, through detailed design, procurement, construction, and start-up/commissioning project stages
  • You will advise Program / Project Managers to understand all project tasks, task durations, and predecessor/successor relationships; support in development of standard sub-schedules as appropriate for groups of activities, such as commissioning
  • You have experience developing comprehensive project schedules for utility and power generation projects, including key milestones, definition of critical path activities, key interfaces with Operations & Maintenance and interfaces with other projects, accounting for any Client restrictions.
  • You will develop and maintain project milestones template(s) for various project sizes to support business development and major capital project opportunities. Develop and maintain project status dashboards to alert teams to potential schedule deviations.
  • You will track historical key performance metrics of past projects and develop lessons learned repository; and drive improvements within the organization to build best in class schedule management function
  • You will standardize the schedule activities and milestones to align with our contracting strategy and utilize our existing and procure platforms to establish executive reports
  • You will review third party schedules for accuracy and gaps, and challenge third party assumptions, and support contracts team through claims process through analysis and review of schedules and activities
  • You will test contractor’s assumptions, or perform staffing density checks or staffing limitation checks to validate schedule durations and ensures resource-leveling supports the project strategy. Likewise, test assumptions / utilize project cost estimates to resource load project schedules
  • You will prepare and present project schedule reports to the VP of Major Capital Projects & IPOS and other senior management.

As our Contracts Analyst Senior, at Georgetown University, in Washington, DC, you will manage the execution of construction contracts working closely with the project team including the prime contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and equipment vendors to ensure that contract terms are understood, adhered to, and in compliance with procurement policies, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

 

Everyday you will manage and administer contracts, specifically for construction and engineering, related to capital improvement projects for campus energy distribution systems. These systems encompass the infrastructure for the production and distribution of chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the electricity and natural gas networks. You will report to the Director of Capital Projects.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management Engineering, or related field
  • You have five 5 years of experience in a related field where you have provided field support during execution of capital projects which involves monitoring contract performance, reviewing project invoicing for contract compliance, tracking project milestones, and timely addressing any issues that arise
  • You have a background in construction contract development, contract management or project execution
  • You have an experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management
  • You have experience with contract development and/or contract administration, including an understanding of procurement procedures; along with project execution and project related tax, finance, insurance and legal issues
  • You can address Change Order requests by aligning with the Project Manager and all stakeholders, driving cost and schedule negotiations with the contractor, understanding the project’s scope, and utilizing the contractual terms to preserve the contracting plan
  • You will prepare final Change Order for signatures utilizing the proper Management of Change (MOC) procedures
  • You will provide support, strategy, and resolution to Project Managers on contractual claims and disputes, liaising and keeping informed all Project Stakeholders
  • You will maintain a structured and documented record of all capital project communications, notices, legal records, including lien waivers, bonds, claims
  • You will also support the procurement process of services and materials for successful completion of the capital project
  • You will develop relationships with project stakeholders, construction contractors, qualified equipment vendors, suppliers, and design/engineering firms
  • You will prepare project close-out documentation and final contract requirements at different milestones of a construction project including mechanical completion, substantial completion, and final completion
  • You will develop and maintain effective relationships with subsidiaries, to encourage knowledge sharing; while also establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with University staff
  • You will carry out other duties as assigned

What You Can Expect

Located in the San Diego area, the Photovoltaic (PV) Technician will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of numerous solar projects, primarily smaller-scale public works projects. Electrical safety and driving safety are critical in this role, and you will be expected to fully comply with all safety requirements and federal, state, and local laws applicable to this position.

 

As a PV Technician, your primary responsibilities include maintaining the performance of each photovoltaic project, responding promptly to trouble tickets, and performing corrective actions while maintaining detailed service reports. You will develop work scopes for repair issues requiring subcontracted assistance, conduct annual preventative maintenance services for PV systems, and use a field mobile application for accurate record keeping. You will review annual service reports to identify and plan corrective actions with the Regional Service Manager.

 

In this role, you will also be responsible for performing corrective repair services, maintaining detailed expense records, and creating and refining reporting systems for management. Other tasks include re-commissioning, site inspections, and any additional duties assigned by the manager.

 

You will work closely with the Regional Service Manager for daily tasks and directions and provide on-the-job training to apprentice electricians, helping them develop into safe, productive journeyman electricians. Ongoing communication with the Regional Service Manager regarding field activity status is essential.

 

Your work will predominantly be on prevailing wage projects, and all project work must adhere to the O&M and Performance Guarantee contract terms, especially concerning customer safety requirements, DOJ Livescan, and site access terms and conditions.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be a California Certified Journeyman Electrician
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience, experience with PV design, installation, and/or maintenance       
  • The position must abide by and understand the safety requirements of the NEC electrical code, NFPA70 and OSHA 30
  • The position must work very close with the  Regional Service Manager for daily tasks and directions
  • Provide on-the job training to Electrical apprentices
  • The position requires reviewing PV system performance reports and troubleshooting under-performance issues as well as outage problems at customer sites
