Context:

In the Expertise Center IS, the Head of IT infrastructures and Workplace Services position, will manage transversally IT infrastructure supporting the business applications and the management of the proximity support for end-users.

She/he will be directly in charge of the IT infrastructure’s teams: Cloud administrator and architects; Network, DBA and operating system experts; …

She/he will manage the Head of Workplace services who is in charge of the helpdesk teams: end-user support (hotline); quality of delivery ; desktop administrators, …

Role:

The Head of IT Infrastructure and Workplace Services is responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's IT Infrastructure and workplace services strategy to ensure the effectiveness of the infrastructure layer supporting the business applications and the maximum end-user satisfaction regarding the management of the workplace services. The main points of the role are:

 

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems to support business operations. Ensure the IT production has the best level of availbility as possible
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage the IT infrastructure budget and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements to ensure the company's IT infrastructure and workstations solutions remain competitive.
  • With the help of the Head of Workplace Services, manage the helpdesk activities : hotline, incident handling and request fulfilment, ensure quality assurance (user and business satisfaction); reporting (financial & performance and volume) and tooling (ITSM ServiceNow); Service Delivery: managing the life cycle of the workplace services and follow-up of the service agreements

 

Reporting Line:

To the Global Energy Management CIO.

Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • Extensive experience in IT infrastructure management, including servers, networks, storage systems and workstations.
    • Strong knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
    • Proficiency in IT infrastructure design and implementation.
    • Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies

 

  • Good to have:
    • Knowledge of ITIL and other IT service management frameworks.
    • Experience with automation and orchestration tools.

Soft skills:

  • Must have:
    • Ability to deliver what is needed to implement the EC IS strategic vision
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changing technology and business needs.
    • Ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, technology projects

Education and professional background:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Languages:

  • French and English

Travels:

Occasionally to Brussels are expected.
