What You Can Expect
As the Project Manager II in our Capex team you will be based at the University of Iowa. You will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the two local campuses. These project will range in size from $100,000 to $15M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-3 years. You will works with internal and external procurement resources to obtain quotes and proposals for the entire scope of the project . Additionally, you will work closely with project development and origination to ensure the project’s success from the beginning, and works with our O&M and Engineering staff to understand the technical aspects of the system designs while enforcing strict health and safety requirements.
- Visits to project sites to facilitate contractor preconstruction requirements and ensure all projects adhere to requirements listed in applicable legal agreements
- Tracks and analyzes progress on project-level spend and schedules in relation to approved budget and schedule baselines.
- Cites any budget-related and schedule issues and processes change to ensure budget and schedule baselines are accurate
- Provides regular status reports to clients and other external parties as necessary, including previously mentioned schedule and budget/cost updates
- Works with engineering and development teams to obtain permits, negotiate and comply with interconnection agreements
- Manages labor contractor relationships, master service agreements, required health and safety registration and contractor ethical requirements. Coordinates General Contractor’s Request for Proposals
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree required; in lieu of a degree a total of six (6) years of experience in a related role
- A minimum of (2) two years’ experience in relevant Project Management, Engineering or Construction role
- A proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Additional Details
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; explain why a license is required, i.e. use of company vehicle, ability to drive to site locations
Compensation
Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
