What You Can Expect

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the market. In this role you will support the development of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition. Efficiently communicate complex development situations, and work through development issues from the start of development through construction. Travel as necessary for siting, development and commercial activities as required to keep development on track.

 

Every day in this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/ Engineering, Procurement, Construction “EPC”, financing and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout ERCOT.

 

  • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in ERCOT, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control
  • Coordinate engineering activities in pursuit of permits and as required for interconnection matters
  • Work closely with engineering team in support of design and EPC process

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental, Science, Management, or another Analytical field required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant work experience  and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in ERCOT or other Independent System Operator “ISO” with energy storage or renewable energy development, with experience in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, planning, real estate, and other matters critical to development
  • Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects, within ERCOT or other ISO
  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements
  • Ability to manage a large workload across a large portfolio, while prioritizing tasks and effectively managing competing deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the ERCOT market or other ISO with particular focus on interconnection, regulatory and offtake matters
  • Ability to evaluate development status and efficiently inform critical decision making with management

 

 

Additional Details

  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000.00 – $187,500.00 USD, annually

What You Can Expect

As our Asset Management Advisor located in Houston, TX for the Texas Region, you will play a key role within the Asset Management team responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, and regulatory performance of assets in the region. This includes budget management, O&M planning, procurement management, coordination with the Independent System Operator (ISO), and leading daily operations. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of operational coordination and ISO requirements, coupled with strong skills in asset lifecycle management.

 

Reporting to the Asset Management Manager, your primary duties encompass:

 

Budget Management:

  • Develop, monitor, and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with company financial goals
  • Analyze financial performance and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations for optimization

 

O&M Planning:

  • Lead daily operational meeting with Operations team and determine the Day-Ahead Asset availability
  • Optimize maintenance schedules by ensuring both commercial and technical objectives are considered
  • Monitor asset performance / KPI and recommend improvements to minimize downtime and maximize asset efficiency

 

Procurement & Inventory Management:

  • Lead coordination with Procurement & Contracts department on ensuring necessary contracts / agreement are in place to support Operational Sites
  • Oversee inventory levels for critical spare parts, tools, and equipment to support uninterrupted operations
  • Develop and implement processes for efficient inventory tracking, reordering, and cost control

 

Coordination with ISO:

  • Act as the primary liaison with the ISO, ensuring compliance with all market and operational requirements
  • Proactively address and resolve any issues or changes related to ISO operations or regulations

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Serve as a key point of contact between internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders
  • Provide timely updates and performance reports to senior management, including insights into operational challenges and successes

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, Energy Asset Management, or equivalent degree program
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in asset management, operations, or a related field in the energy sector
  • Experience with ISO and familiarity with Texas energy markets
  • Proven track record in budget management, inventory oversight, and operational coordination
  • Strong understanding of energy market operations and regulatory compliance

The Commissioning Engineer is part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering all aspects of facility start-up, commissioning, testing, and handover to operations for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.   • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure proper project closeout, address issues/claims, and lead continuous improvement activities related to start-up, commissioning, and testing

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in management, engineering, science, or technology related field

  • Every day you work with business developers and subject matter experts to develop the design documents and drawings for Electrical Energy Storage Systems connected to high voltage utility grid, to be used in project permit applications and engineering procurement construction (EPC) sourcing
  • Develop site layouts for Electrical Substations and Battery Energy Storage facilities
  • Create Electrical Diagrams for medium voltage and low voltage power networks and communication systems
  • Review EPC drawings and provide constructive feedback

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s Degree in Drafting/Design or Engineering Technology; or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical installations design utilizing AutoCAD; other CAD will be considered
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Experience in utility-scale AC and DC coupled energy storage power plants
  • Experience with medium voltage AC collection and HV substation designs
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret substation design drawings and electrical power, communication and protection diagrams
  • Detailed oriented and good independent functioning and decision-making skills

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As the Senior Systems Engineer (SE) is a key player of a diverse team developing cutting-edge energy storage solutions. This position requires technical expertise in battery storage technologies, with focus on lithium-ion batteries. This role includes identifying project requirements, designing battery energy storage systems, specifying system components, supporting the business development team, managing projects from design to operation, and supporting the operations team. This position is part of the Flexible Generation & Retail Global Business Unit (FGBU) in North America. 

 

Every day you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to specify suitable system components, define the system design, calculate the size of the battery system throughout the life of the project, and generate comprehensive bills-of-material for material and labor cost evaluation. Additionally, you will manage all technical aspects on project execution, from the design phase through development, installation, commissioning, and operation; primary EPC engineering interface.

 

  • Provide support to internal business team in engaging prospective utility companies and Authority Having Jurisdiction
  • Identify and articulate business development requirements
  • Formulate high-level detailed system design drawings and layouts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Primary interface with the project Owner’s Engineer
  • Ensure Engie’s BESS internal guidelines are followed
  • Train Operations & Maintenance (O&M) technician and support with troubleshooting system issues
  • Responsible for oversight, considering company policies and procedures, codes and standards, and regulations, of engineering consultants’ and other contractors’ electrical designs and construction as required to deliver the assigned projects
  • Act independently with minimal direction and, as a project team member, must be able to work cooperatively to deliver quality electrical engineering for the project, interconnection agreements, and the team’s goals for a successful project
  • Must keep up to date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including codes, industry standards, best practices, customer requirements, and other relevant standards.
  • Review system drawing sets for purposes of bidding, permitting, and construction in accordance with ENGIE standards, NEC, IEEE and any other local codes

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in renewable systems engineering
  • Extensive expertise in battery technology for storage applications including batteries, inverters, transformers, substations, protection and controls, battery management and energy management systems
  • Profound technical knowledge, particularly in the realm of battery storage technologies or renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Ability to create, read and interpret construction plans and specifications

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Salary Range: $103,950 – $206,550 USD annually
