What You Can Expect
As the Project Development Advisor, you will support a broad range of pre-construction development activities on Greenfield projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale solar assets in the Eastern United States (including MISO, PJM, Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and other territories).
Every day in this role you will be responsible for:
- Early-Stage Project Development: Manage local, state, and federal permitting, including community and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) outreach, public hearings, environmental site assessments, and project acquisition due diligence
- Collaboration: Work closely with land and business development teams, interconnection experts, and environmental permitting specialists to site Greenfield projects and support wind, solar, and storage project development
- Project Origination: Drive origination activities from feasibility to land acquisition, including environmental site assessments, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities
- Consultant Engagement: Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation
- Research and Development: Stay updated on industry developments, tax incentives, and new technologies.
- Permitting and Hearings: Manage permit application preparation, attend public permitting hearings, and handle agency and AHJ submittals and interactions
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with landowners and stakeholders, attend community engagement events, and maintain project progress databases
- Financial and M&A Support: Support energy offtake, financing, and project Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) discussions, document preparation, and review project pro forma financial models
- Industry Representation: Represent ENGIE at industry advocacy groups and national renewable energy events as an attendee, speaker, panelist, and renewable energy leader
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics
- A minimum of seven (7) years related experience, preferably in renewable energy development or other fields of project development with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement
- Detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue required information
- Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks
- Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with public officials and agencies
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential off takers, government officials, and corporate leaders
- Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team collaborator, with the ability to mentor junior team members
- Results-oriented professional with the ability to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
