The Role
Our Origination team is responsible for securing high value structured power, renewable, carbon and environmental transactions; promoting risk management solutions and market access services to wholesale clients and counterparts. Our team works in close collaboration with the Trading and Supply teams.

You’ll be responsible for converting customer relationships into a sustainable commercial outcome (“from Contacts to Contracts”).

  • monitoring market development and identifying new business opportunities
  • lead the negotiation, structuring and execution of complex and bespoke transaction (power, green, carbon and cross energy commodities), and contribute to pricing and risk assessment
  • build and nurture relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders and strengthen the company's reputation as a reliable and approachable partner
  • monitor market development and competitors activities to identify

You’ll play a crucial role in building the GEMS commercial franchise, marketing Engie renewable developments and supporting our customers on their decarbonisation journey.

About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Economics, Legal, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Trader, Originator, Structurer, or in energy procurement within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM)
  • Prior experience in leading or actively partaking into complex negotiations and the end-to-end process from initiation to execution
  • Articulate, with high commercial awareness and exceptional consultative skills
  • Ability to work cross-functional in a complex matrix organisation, developing strong internal networks to deliver strategic results
