With a combined peak generating capacity of over 2000 MW, these two power stations have reliably supported the UK’s national electricity supply network for decades. Alongside our generation commitments we are undertaking an exciting programme of major refurbishment at both our power stations to ensure that they continue to meet demand long into the future.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor (Planning) to support the delivery of identified targets within the Production team with responsibility for overall long and short term work planning for Dinorwig and Ffestiniog Power Stations, involving the implementation of the business maintenance philosophy and coordination of daily work.
ABOUT YOU
You will hold a minimum of a BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Ideally have successfully completed formal training in safety (e.g. IOSH Managing Safety). As well as formal qualifications and training, candidates are also expected to have relevant experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Planning and scheduling of work in a heavy engineering environment
Proven leadership skills
Technical knowledge relating to plant maintenance work in a heavy engineering environment
A comprehensive understanding of manpower planning
Understanding of, power plant operations, engineering and maintenance
Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its impact on day to day operations
Strong understanding of QEH&S management systems
Able to carry out Risk Assessments and Method Statements for a variety of work
Excellent IT skills andknowledge, including Maintenance Management Systems and MS Project
- The ability to work flexibly and react to unforeseen issues

Salary of between £60k to £67k - starting salary will be dependent upon skills and experience of the successful candidate.

FHC would support the successful candidate in continued development if any of the requirements above are not fully met.
LOCATION
The role will be based at Dinorwig Power Station but there may be some requirement to travel on occasion.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
First Hydro Company operate key infrastructure projects in the UK and will require the successful applicant to undertake national security vetting.
