What You Can Expect

As our Senior Strategic, Community Solar Programs, you will manage the strategic direction and execution of ENGIE’s Community Solar projects in select markets. You will advocate for state policies, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and work with ENGIE’s internal business units to optimize project location, size, offtake structure, and schedule. In this role you will possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and policy skills, with the ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and manage priorities professionally. This position is based in Chicago, IL, or remote cities like Denver, CO, Houston, TX, Oakland, CA, reporting to the Sr. Advisor, Origination.

 

 

  • Research, monitor, and communicate details of existing and emerging Community Solar programs, informing strategic initiatives to grow ENGIE’s market presence
  • Align with ENGIE teams to assign and sequence land and project development activities, and monitor schedules through the Program Entry phase
  • Develop relationships with key external stakeholders within solar industry associations and advocacy groups to coalesce common interests and understand policy developments
  • Advocate for policy changes to improve ENGIE’s position within programs by communicating with external policy, regulatory, legislative, and administrative stakeholders
  • Manage new Program Entry applications, monitor compliance with Community Solar program requirements, and advise stakeholders during audits or funding discussions

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Organizational Management, Environmental Policy, Political Science, Business, Economics or related field

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ of relevant experience in an energy, utility, analytical or sustainability
  • You are knowledgeable about the renewable energy industry and electricity markets, with an understanding of solar project development and associated timelines
  • You have experience with policy advocacy, government affairs, and coalition dynamics, and can evaluate and comprehend detailed policy, program, and tariff documents
  • You are proficient in making and implementing strategic recommendations and possess expert-level communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You have strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and demonstrate proven negotiation skills
  • You are a team player with a willingness to help others, and can work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence. For candidates in remote cities, occasional travel to our office locations in Chicago, IL
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,000 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
