What You Can Expect
As a Project Director, you will lead the development of Green Hydrogen projects in the North America from feasibility to start of construction. Every day you will be responsible for management of assigned projects, leadership and oversight of all disciplines (engineering disciplines, Health Safety Environmental (HSE), permitting and regulatory compliance, procurement, construction management, contracting, project control), management of contractors (front end engineering design (FEED), permitting, surveys), oversight of Engineering Procurement Construction scope, strategy and contracts development, selection of Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contractors, early procurement/contracting, management of internal interfaces within Development team and other Business Units, management of external interfaces with development partners, driving the project through development stages towards final investment decision (FID) and ensuring its overall viability.
- Drive Green Hydrogen projects from initiation up to Final Investment Decision and handover to the Execution team
- Provide leadership and ensure top performance in all areas of the project (engineering, Health Safety Environmental (HSE), permitting, regulatory compliance, procurement, construction management, project control, contracting)
- Develop and manage all aspects of the project (scope, execution plan, resourcing, budget, schedule, risks, quality, interfaces)
- Use your knowledge of Green Hydrogen (or related industries) to steer development of the project, keep the team focused and executives well informed
- Use your extensive Project Management and Engineering experience to establish effective management process, systems and tools; Develop and own the Project Management Plan with all its elements
- Engage internal and external teams and partners, align early and continuously, and manage proactively any interfaces and risks (alignment sessions, project reviews, Value Improvement Practices, lessons learnt)
- Proactively define the need, identify & mobilize resources, and manage progress on the technical deliverables for the various phases of the project
- Work with Development/Finance team to accurately provide technical, production and costing inputs into project financial models
- Lead the definition of the project’s procurement and contracting strategy, and management of the project’s procurement activities (tender documents, tendering, negotiation, contracting and invoicing)
- Lead the definition of contracting and execution strategy, TIC estimates and master scheduling, negotiation of Engineering Procurement Construction (M) and engineering/consulting contracts; support negotiations of the Supply, Offtake or other type of contracts
- Prepare and coordinate the technical hand-over to the Project Delivery team at project final investment decision
- Structure and budget the operation and maintenance of the project, inclusive of staffing and mobilization plan, interfaces with Operations & Maintenance vendor, Operations & Maintenance agreements, KPIs, pricing structure and carry out other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in engineering, execution and Project Management developing large greenfield process plants (Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, Refining)
- Experience throughout project lifecycle – from Front End Loading to Engineering Procurement Construction
- Significant experience in cost/schedule control, budgeting, procurement
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Primavera P6, Procore
- Professional Engineer license and PMP certification
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present to large audiences and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing activities and be flexible, adjusting to changing conditions, develop and present alternative courses of action
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel domestically 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a incentive plan.
