About the team

 

Our Power & Infrastructure Business Line provides high added value activities and services to the Global Business Units (GBUs) of ENGIE, the power generation sector, grid operators, and end-user industries in Europe. This covers applied research and on-the-field technical expertise. 

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Your responsibilities as a Power Transformer Expert.

 

Within our department specialized in Electrical Equipment (EEQ), you have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on our customers' operations.

  • You engage in all aspects of the entire electricity value chain: Production (Nuclear, Classical, or Renewable), Transmission, Distribution and Industry (end user).
  • You enrich your technical and sector knowledge with ongoing follow-up of new transformer technologies and market evolutions.
  • You embrace opportunities to collaborate with universities and research centers locally and abroad.
  • You remain available and open to travel to intervene on industrial sites in Belgium and abroad (mostly in Europe).

Plus, your expertise will be put to good work in:

  • Drafting specifications for transformers and tender evaluations.
  • Evaluating comparison offers from suppliers.
  • Supplier design review of Power Transformer assets.
  • Manufacture/construction follow-up at supplier facilities.
  • Follow-up of SAT / FAT.
  • Condition assessment of operating transformers.
  • Trouble-shooting and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Simulations (diagnostic).
  • Material Analysis

  • Have a civil or industrial engineer qualification, or experience equivalent, specialized in Electricity or Electro-Mechanics.
  • Have a proven expertise in the domain of Power Transformers.
  • Have experience in large Power Transformer design.
  • Have the ability to create strategic value for Laborelec and its customers based on your expertise.
  • Have the confidence to give theoretical and practical training in your field of expertise.
  • Have the mindset to rapidly analyze customer issues or demands and develop appropriate commercial proposals related to needed service deliveries.
  • Have a natural customer orientation and ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Work and communicate well to assist team work-flow and customer decisions.
  • Communicate fluently in English, Dutch and French, or are willing to learn.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and market evolution knowledge to back your recommendations.
