Senior Civil Works Site Engineer

 

 

to join our enthusiastic team in Doel.

You will address the technical follow-up of the civil works related to the different projects that are ongoing and will be realized in the frame of

  • Long Term Operations – namely the projects associated to the anticipated life time extension of Doel 4;
  • Decommissioning and Dismantling – namely both the new build and modifications associated to the final shutdown of Doel 1, 2 and 3;
  • Plant Operational Support – namely the civil works assistance we deliver to the operational power plants (e.g. from maintenance works for cooling towers or other important structures, to completely new build structures, as e.g. Spent Fuel Storage Facilities);

You will join the Site Team under the mentorship of the Site Lead.

 

Typical activities include:

  • interfacing between Tractebel’s back office, the Client and Contractors realizing the works;
  • inspecting the Contractors’ execution activities, verifying compliance with execution drawings and documents (erection methodology etc.);
  • verifying and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements;
  • management of the technical interfaces between Contractors;
  • management and follow up of main design modifications;
  • participation to regular meetings with the stakeholders: progress, challenges, interfaces, HSE, etc.;
  • drafting work orders and site orders, issuing notes on the execution and shortcomings, and checking the progress reports prepared by the Contractors;
  • continually exchanging information on developments in work, studies, etc.;

 

The successful candidate

  • Holds a Master degree in civil/structural engineering. Relevant professional experience in an engineering environment, including design assignments and erection follow-up, preferably in an industrial environment is an advantage;
  • Is fluent in Dutch and either French or English;
  • is a born team player

The working environment 

 

You will work as Project Manager for our department Buildings which is responsible for engineering and consultancy services related to the development and realization of Buildings, including Residential, Tertiary and Industrial Buildings, Sport Infrastructures and consultancy missions related to buildings. These projects cover feasibility, basic design, detailed design, technical assistance during construction and on-site construction follow-up. Our activity is mainly situated in Belgium, even though we have projects worldwide in specific market segments.

 

Your function

  • You lead, motivate and manage a project team of multidisciplinary engineers and draftsmen for your projects;
  • You are responsible for ensuring the respect of budget, the timing and the quality of our engineering services and the works on site. You will make sure that the projects assigned to you will be executed in accordance to our quality system and our H&S rules;
  • You are responsive and make the necessary decisions when it comes to MEP construction (HVAC, electrical systems, etc.)
  • You report progress for all your projects on a monthly basis;
  • You participate in the technical design of your projects (mainly in preliminary design);
  • You enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved;
  • You prepare and submit tenders and contracts (assistance of our sales team);
  • You work together with external partners (such as architects, other design and engineering consultancies, subcontractors, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) in a constructive way;

Your profile

  • You have a Master degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent;
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience with project management in MEP works;
  • You are rather a generalist than a specialist, with background in MEP or Architectural engineering;
  • The projects you worked on were preferably building projects with high environmental ambition;
  • You were ideally involved in all aspects and phases of your projects: competition, design, studies, tender, execution, management,…);
  • You have experience with competitive bidding (competitions): conceptual design, quick estimation of building cost, definition and negotiation of the fee, presentation to the client or authorities, etc.
  • You have experience in conducting multidisciplinary projects in Construction with multiple stakeholders, time and budget constraints;
  • You have and create good contacts with architects thanks to your communication skills;
  • You are familiar with project planning and management approaches and are project financials literate;
  • You are client oriented and flexible;
  • You are a team player;
  • You are Fluent in French and you have a professional level English.

The activities of "Rehabilitation of Industrial Sites" (RIS), in which you will be active, include 

  • Carrying out soil surveys and supervising rehabilitation projects;
  • Carrying out studies and monitoring the works to be carried out, concerning the removal of asbestos and the demolition of power plants and industrial facilities, 
  • Carrying out hydro-geological studies and groundwater studies using groundwater flow models.

Because of this complementarity of activities and because RIS is part of an international company with international activities, you will actively participate in large-scale and leading (inter)national projects. 

 

Profile 

  • Hold a master's degree in applied sciences (geology, bioengineering, biology, chemistry, environmental engineering, etc.) or equivalent with years of experience in this sector.
  • At least 10 years of experience in conducting soil investigations and supervising soil remediation operations in the field is required. You will supervise and support as a senior project manager a team of approx. 5 members;
  • You have good communication skills and are customer oriented

As Renewables Trader in the RES Trading team we expect you to:

  • be able to perform pricing, develop/improve models and adapt hedging strategies for the Polish renewables market
  • assist in developing and monitoring performance measures  which will be instrumental to the expansion of our portfolio (cooperating with pricing, origination),
  • be Pnl driven, and respectful of your risk mandate,
  • be an excellent team player, within your own team and across others (Short term trading, pricing, origination, structuring, quants, IS, GMA…),
  • show a continuous drive to uncover profitable trading & hedging strategies ,
  • manage short term trading strategies across CWE markets (Day Ahead, Intraday, Curtailments),
  • assist in developing flexibility solutions to manage the intermittency of the portfolio in a cost-effective manner.

Hard skills:

  • Analytical and quantitative skills, combined with a hands-on approach,
  • Good knowledge of the Polish renewables power market,
  • Good knowledge of office tools as Excel as well as interest,
  • Strong understanding of information management tool and trading systems,
  • The capability and/or interest in code languages (Python etc),
  • A good understanding of accounting mechanisms (both industrial and trading), of market finance (hedging, derivatives, etc), of the power business and associated trading strategies are required,
  • The use of trading transaction systems will also be required.

  • You are part of a multidisciplinary project team of engineers and draftmen for projects with a strong focus on projects in infrastructure (bridges, civil constructions, etc.) and / or buildings.

Jouw functie

Als Lead Stabiliteitsingenieur in ons kantoor te Gent, worden jouw verantwoordelijkheden als volgt omschreven:

  • Je stimuleert en ontwikkelt actief het gebruik van BIM en parametric design binnen de organisatie.
  • In jouw projecten leid je, motiveer je, coach je en beheer je een projectteam van Design Engineers en tekenaars, en werk je nauw samen met de andere teams die betrokken zijn bij het project.
  • Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen van civiele werken (beton, staal, hout,…) van concept tot uitvoeringsstudie.
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat het budget, de overeengekomen scope, de timing en de kwaliteit van de engineeringwerken worden uitgevoerd zoals vereist. Je zorgt ervoor dat de aan jou toegewezen projecten worden uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met ons kwaliteitssysteem en onze veiligheidsregels.
  • Je rapporteert regelmatig de voortgang van al jouw projecten aan jouw manager.
  • Je begeleidt jonge ingenieurs door actief deel te nemen aan hun opleidingstraject.
  • Je verbetert het geïntegreerde ontwerpproces door transversaal te kijken over de verschillende disciplines heen.

Jouw functie

 

Als Lead Stabiliteitsingenieur in ons kantoor te Hasselt, worden jouw verantwoordelijkheden als volgt omschreven:

  • Je stimuleert en ontwikkelt actief het gebruik van BIM en parametric design binnen de organisatie.
  • In jouw projecten leid je, motiveer je, coach je en beheer je een projectteam van Design Engineers en tekenaars, en werk je nauw samen met de andere teams die betrokken zijn bij het project.
  • Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen van civiele werken (beton, staal, hout,…) van concept tot uitvoeringsstudie.
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat het budget, de overeengekomen scope, de timing en de kwaliteit van de engineeringwerken worden uitgevoerd zoals vereist. Je zorgt ervoor dat de aan jou toegewezen projecten worden uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met ons kwaliteitssysteem en onze veiligheidsregels.
  • Je rapporteert regelmatig de voortgang van al jouw projecten aan jouw manager.
  • Je begeleidt jonge ingenieurs door actief deel te nemen aan hun opleidingstraject.
  • Je verbetert het geïntegreerde ontwerpproces door transversaal te kijken over de verschillende disciplines heen.
  • Je reageert op de behoeften van de klant en hecht veel belang aan klantgerichtheid;
  • Je bereidt offertes en contracten voor en dient ze in, en presenteert ze aan de klant in overleg met het commerciële team.
  • Je werkt samen met externe partners (zoals architecten, andere ontwerp- en ingenieursbureaus, onderaannemers, aannemers tijdens de bouwfase, enz.) op een constructieve manier.
  • Je streeft naar duurzame en efficiënte oplossingen. Je houdt de normen, richtlijnen en ontwikkelingen in jouw vakgebied bij en rapporteert deze aan jouw teamleden of collega's.

Jouw profiel

 

  • Je beschikt over masterdiploma als burgerlijke of industrieel bouwkundig ingenieur;
  • Je hebt minstens 10 jaar ervaring met structurele engineeringprojecten gerelateerd aan complexe infrastructuur (bruggen, tunnels, spoorwegen, luchthavens...) of gebouwen.
  • Je was idealiter betrokken bij alle aspecten en fasen van jouw projecten: competitie, ontwerp, studies, aanbesteding, uitvoering, management, enz.;
  • Je hebt ervaring in het leiden van multidisciplinaire projecten in de bouw met meerdere stakeholders, tijd- en budgetbeperkingen;
  • Je hebt goede communicatieve vaardigheden en je bent een teamspeler;
  • Je bent klant- en oplossingsgericht;
  • Je spreekt vloeiend Nederlands en Engels.

Work environment 

Tu travailleras en tant que jeune ingénieur, depuis notre bureau de Bruxelles et/ ou Namur, au sein de notre département « Infrastructure des transports », le département de Tractebel qui conçoit/élabore principalement des projets liés aux routes, tramways/ (pré)-métros, aéroports, tunnels et ponts. 
Outre la conception des routes, la conception des systèmes du traitement des eaux usées est un deuxième volet important, qui tient compte du changement climatique et de l'utilisation durable de l'eau de pluie.

Mission 

  • Tu travailleras sur des projets d'infrastructure quant à la conception géométrique et structurelle d'autoroutes, de routes régionales et de routes en milieu urbain.
  • Tu tiendras compte, dans tes projets, de tous les aspects des études d'infrastructure tels que la conception spatiale, la mobilité, la sécurité et la durabilité.
  • Travailler en équipe est évident et motivant pour toi.
  • Tu communiqueras avec les autres membres du projet/de la discipline.
  • Tu te tiendras au courant des évolutions dans ta discipline.
  • Tu seras principalement en charge de projets en Belgique. Des missions au Grand-Duché du Luxembourg sont également possibles.

Profile

  • Tu es titulaire d'un diplôme d'ingénieur (génie civil) ou d'un diplôme/ d'une maîtrise en sciences industrielles.
  • Une première expérience professionnelle pertinente n’est pas requise
  • Tu as le sens du client, tu es flexible et communicatif. Travailler en équipe te motive.
  • Tu as une bonne connaissance de MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) et de MS Project.
  • Tu es attiré pour ces beaux et impressionnants projets liés aux infrastructures (même si ton parcours académique ne t’a pas formé à cela)
  • La gestion de projet t’attire ?
  • Tu parles couramment le français (langue maternelle) et tu possèdes un bon niveau d’anglais. Une connaissance du néerlandais est un atout.
  • Tu es titulaire d'un permis de conduire "B".
