What You Can Expect

As our Project Developer, you will support a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada. Your daily task will include working on all aspects of early to late-stage project development, such as local, state, and federal permitting, public and stakeholder engagement, public hearings, environmental site assessment, and project financing due diligence support. You will work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, as well as pre-construction, engineering and project delivery departments, and other aspects of wind , solar and storage project development to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. This role offers flexibility in location, with options in either Santa Barbara, CA, Chicago, IL Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

 

The Development Associates and Project Developers will support the development team in order to:

  • Manage and actively drive development activities of utility-scale solar , wind and storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction
  • Manage all aspects of  environmental site assessment, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities in close collaboration with SMEs
  • Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation
  • Research new industry developments, tax incentives, technologies, etc.
  • Manage permit application preparation and attend public permitting hearings
  • Manage agency and AHJ submittals and interactions on local, state, and federal level
  • Develop project model underwriting assumptions in alignment with investment criteria and off-take origination efforts
  • Engage with landowners and stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process, including attending community engagement events
  • Maintain database tracking project progress
  • Support energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions and document preparation
  • Prepare investment presentation materials for ENGIE investment committees
  • Review project pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted
  • Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in which you complted courses in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics
  • A minimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably in renewable energy development or other fields of project development with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement
  • You are detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue required information
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks
  • You are highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with public officials and agencies
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential offtakers, government officials, and corporate leaders
  • Results-oriented professional with the ability to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to remote project locations up to 25-30% of time. Need to travel will fluctuate depending on project stage

Compensation

About the role

ENGIE are recruiting for a Health & Safety Supervisor based in Ireland - Site oriented. This is a Fixed Term Contract role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • ENGIE's representative on the construction site on HSE issues, coordinating activities on health, environment, and safety issues 
  • Provide support to construction teams on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management. 

  • Verify that the contracting companies observe and apply the indications contained in the project safety plan; this includes preparing and keeping up to date of the site safety induction for all contractors and visitors 

  • Ensures that companies on site and all contractors and sub-contractors are compliant with HSE rules imposed by Law and ENGIE requirements, and constantly communicates with the H&S roles within the ENGIE organization and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) 

  • Collaborates with the PSCS to check the suitability of each company's safety plans and its scrupulous application on site. 

  • Supports the PSCS in adapting the project safety plan in relation to the evolution of the works and any changes discussed on site with the aim of improving the work 

  • Promotes risk analysis (including last minute risk assessment) for each new activity or process and for each process that must be adapted from what was planned 

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Experience of carrying out a Health and Safety role ideally in the process and/or construction industry 

  • Experience of implementing the requirements of regulations equivalent to UK CDM Regulations in Republic of Ireland  

  • An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification is essential. 

  • A recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualification is desirable. 

  • Experience holding the PSDP role (desirable) 

  • Experience of Health and Safety auditing 

  • A good working knowledge of Republic of Ireland Health and Safety legislation, principles and practice 

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations regarding waste management; 

  • Construction site experience carried out in the renewable energy sector

Occupational Health & Safety Officer

The Role:

 

We’re seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Officer to support the delivery of the Goorambat Solar Farm by ensuring the project is constructed in a safe and compliant manner.  The role will be responsible for the daily supervision / oversight of the EPC contractor activities to ensure works are conducted in accordance with approved safety management systems and plans.

 

The incumbent will be accountable to the Head of Operations & HSE and will be based at the project site in Benalla, Victoria.  This is about 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne. 

 

This is a full time role and will be available until the Goorambat Solar Farm is constructed and commissioned.  It is anticipated this will be approximately 2 years.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish and administer ENGIE's health and safety management systems at the project site, development of ENGIE's health and safety management systems and tools and verifying contractors compliance of work against approved systems of work.
  • Communication of ENGIE’s expectations in relation to safe work practices and behaviours.
  • Daily supervision of contractor’s activities to ensure works being conducted safely.
  • Propose and implement safety initiatives within the work site that promotes a positive safety culture considering feedback from all stakeholders.
  • Management of contractor compliance against ENGIE lifesaving rules and One ENGIE Safety program
  • Review and audit contractor safety systems and documentation
  • Attend and actively participate in risk workshops, toolbox, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and daily pre-start meetings
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans regarding key health and safety strategies, issues and risks.
  • Participate in and conduct incident investigations and critically review contractor’s incident investigation reports.
  • Prepare monthly H&S report including reporting against H&S performance indicators
  • Review contractor SWMS and site specific HSE Management Plan

 

 

About You:

 

To be successful in this role, you will have experience with the application of HSE management plans and HSE management systems for construction sites and have managed contractors to meet and/or exceed safety requirements.  You will have knowledge and understanding of the requirements of a principal contractor and the asset owner’s HSE responsibilities and have the ability to instil a safety first mindset to others.

You must have qualifications in WHS (Cert IV), be first aid trained and either have or be willing to attain a construction white card.

The Role:

 

We’re seeking an experienced Performance, Controls and Regulatory Engineer to develop a compliant regulatory program and commission renewables generating facilities’ SCADA systems and to meet the requirements of the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCi) Act.

 

The incumbent will be accountable to the Head of Operations and will be based at our Pelican Point power station.  Travel to other sites within SA will be required.

 

This is a full time role and reasonable requests for part time work will be considered.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and manage a compliant program to satisfy the requirements of ENGIE’s Industrial Cybersecurity requirements and the Australian Security of Critical Infrastructure Act (SoCi)
  • Assist with commissioning new renewable assets generating facilities SCADA and control systems.
  • Develop and manage a control improvement plan.
  • Manage generation Licence regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Monitor renewable assets performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop and implement asset management plans, incorporating detailed plans for optimal performance and performance monitoring.

¿Cuál sería tu objetivo?

Responsable de gestionar y monitorear la planificación y el control de gestión financiero de la R-GBU, centralizando la preparación del presupuesto de la R-GBU con las áreas operativas de la RGBU y para el área de Finanzas, coordinando con los equipos en los procesos de reportabilidad, análisis del realizado e identificación de desviaciones con propuestas de mejora de metodología de estimación de presupuesto y Best Estimates, y velando por el control de los procesos con áreas de soporte para lograr los objetivos financieros de la R-GBU

 

Funciones:

  • Responsable de centralizar la preparación del Presupuesto anual de la RGBU en conjunto con el Business Plan, preparar los templates, coordinar a todas las áreas y desafiar a los equipos para conseguir un resultado que haga sentido para la R-GBU (OPEX, CAPEX, DEVEX, perfiles de generación, ramp-up, etc), además de su posterior seguimiento, entrega de supuestos y análisis en el ejercicio de best estimate mensual, y control del negocio mediante una comparación entre el budget (inicial) y el Real, asegurando dar visibilidad al Management sobre el desempeño de global de la R-GBU, y a las diferentes áreas y clientes internos dentro de la Organización
  • Coordinar la revisión con las Áreas de Soporte, GEMS y de Asuntos Corporativos, de las consecuencias y/o materialización de impactos sobre los objetivos y/o estrategia de la R-GBU, para facilitar el seguimiento del performance de la RGBU. En particular, participar del proceso de asignación de los ingresos de EECL a las GBU’s, velando que sea consistente con el negocio renovable
  • Responsable de la medición y proyección financieras derivadas del control de Riesgos y Oportunidades asociados al ERM de EECL, elaborando alertas ante posibles incidentes que puedan impactar tanto el presupuesto como el resultado de la RGBU, debe levantar y cuantificar los planes de mitigación, así como también definir el riesgo residual (impacto, probabilidad, severidad, evaluación de planes de mitigación y riesgos remanentes) y eficacia de las medidas tomadas para mitigar el riesgo, manteniendo informado al Management respecto esta temática para decidir en conjunto si se debo incorporar en los Best Estimates mensuales
  • dentificar proactivamente los impactos en las fases de Desarrollo, Implementación de Proyectos, y Operaciones, y analizar los datos entregados de forma critica a fines de mejorar la precisión de los presupuestos y best estimates, así como también procurar la mejora continua de procesos y calidad de la información que pueda impactar los resultados de la RGBU. Implementar soluciones para la automatización de procesos presupuestarios y de control de gestión
  • Elaborar, controlar, monitorear y evaluar las SLAs (Service Level Agreement) acordadas entre las áreas de la R-GBU y las áreas de soporte con el fin de garantizar la gobernanza de los procesos dentro de las GBUs. Asegurar la consistencia y buscar sinergias entre las SLA’s de BD, Projects, O&M y B&M. Reportar el estatus de cada una de ellas con sus respectivos KPI’s

What You Can Expect

As the on-site Wind Technician I, at the East Fork Wind Site in Colby, Kansas, you will report to the Operations and Maintenance office to meet the Site Operations Manager to receive work orders and discuss project details. Adaptability is crucial as tasks may vary depending on operational needs and requirements. Your primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting, repairing, reconnecting, and inspecting electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.  At this site you will be working with high voltage energized equipment and must follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) grounding and other safety precautions. Collaborating with service providers and contractors, you will oversee daily work activities, produce various reports, operate site equipment, and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments.

 

Ensuring compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards, you'll conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment. You'll actively participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment. Alongside routine inspections and serving as the main contact for landowners, you'll manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site.

 

Gaining and maintaining GWO training is required, as well as participating in turbine climbing activities. You'll provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures. You will work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.  From time to time you will be required to support other wind assets during planned outages and emergencies, potentially requiring overnight stays. Furthermore, you'll be part of an on-call rotation and must reside within 50 miles of the site to respond promptly to outages and emergencies.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum High school diploma

  • Minimum two (2) years of previous exposure and knowledge of Solar generation, Wind generation, Thermal power, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant

What You Can Expect

As a Maintenance Planner based in our Houston, TX or Chicago, IL office, you'll be supporting ENGIE's Renewables Global Business Unit (RGBU) initiatives for the United States and Canada wind and solar sites. Collaborating closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, as well as site management, your main responsibilities will revolve around planning, scheduling, and ensuring timely updates on inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and substation works. This includes addressing obstacles, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and overseeing part procurement, shipment status, logistics, invoicing, billing, and progress reporting. Additionally, you'll be responsible for monitoring budgets, schedules, and personnel during site maintenance outages. Your role will also encompass developing inspection documents, processes, and maintenance instructions utilizing computer software, particularly maintenance management systems like Maximo or SAP, to maintain technical and safety documentation, as well as keeping historical records. Furthermore, you will utilize Microsoft Office to prepare documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence for reporting to leadership.

 

 

What You’ll Bring
