What You Can Expect

As an intern in our Westminster, CO office, you will work as a supporting key member of the Project Management (PM) and Construction Management (CM) team within the Utility-Scale Renewable Development business. 

Every day you will support the Project and Construction Management staff with project start up activities for ENGIE’s project portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Reporting and project start up and closeout activities and exhibit reviews
  • Review and update process maps and documents for PM and CM activities and support the activities within the ProCore application system
  • As an intern you will travel to construction project sites as needed to shadow the Construction Manager or Senior site member on the work being done, audits, and safety inspections
  • Documentation of activities, create reports out of Procore, review daily reports for quality and non-conformance
  • Attend weekly Construction Project meetings

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be at least a junior or senior working toward a graduate or undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, science, or similar technical or analytics-based program
  • Effective communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint
  • Extremely organized, results-driven, and reliable, with the ability to manage time efficiently, keen attention to detail and organization, operate with high energy and flexibility, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborator with the ability to aggregate data for reporting, collaborate cross functionally across departments, and work with external customers 

 

Additional Details

  • The Summer internship work term will be from May 2025 to August 2025. The Intern will have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during this period
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to construction sites

 

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $22.00 - $28.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

  • Create process maps and flowcharts from departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Gather information by planning, attending, and participating in departmental meetings to gather information to create maps and charts
  • Research process topics and review existing documents
  • Interview company representatives to gather details for process map and flowchart creation
  • Present created process maps and charts to inter-department leads for review
  • Manage computer files and software application outputs, and publish created output as directed

Our Vice President of Operations leads the ENGIE North American Renewables & Storage, Operations and Maintenance organization. This leadership role is essential in maintaining ENGIE North America's commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within its  on-shore renewable energy fleet and Battery storage assets. The focus will be on driving safety  optimizing fleet performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and financial success. 

Daily, as an active participant in the North American Renewables Leadership Team, you will be working to move the needle and provide your leadership and experience on the field and office to help us continue to grow an innovative safety first culture that has a data driven approach to operational efficiency, financial performance and compliance.
Safety Leadership:

  • Champion a safety-first culture across all operations, aligning with ENGIE North America's (ENGIE NA) Health & Safety principles, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Empower employees with Stop Work Authority to address safety concerns, ensuring a proactive safety mindset at all levels.
  • Lead and maintain a robust safety program for ENGIE NA's construction teams.
  • Set and enforce safety, quality, and operational standards for the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams, in line with ENGIE’s global O&M framework
  • Optimize performance and resolve operational issues within ENGIE NA’s renewable energy fleet, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the global O&M community to share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Ensure all operations comply with ENGIE policies, regulations (FERC/NERC), power purchase agreements, and financing partner requirements.
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets and performance targets for ENGIE NA’s O&M organization, ensuring financial and operational objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Power Marketing, and Project Delivery teams to apply lessons learned and define operational budgets during the development phase.
  • Partner with the Asset Management team to enhance communication, improve asset financial performance, and meet financing partner expectations.
  • Foster a high-performance organization focused on continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and overall performance.
  • Utilize data analytics to optimize fleet performance and maximize safety and profitability.
  • Implement best-in-class processes and controls through the Project Management Office to ensure the excellence of ENGIE’s operating portfolio.
  • Establish and oversee a Remote Operations Center to monitor and manage the renewable and flexible generation fleet effectively.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant educational program  
  • You will have a minimum of Ten (10) years’ or progressive  experience with demonstrated leadership and management of staff focused on Renewable Energy Operations and Maintenance
  • You will have gained expertise in Operations, Maintenance, Dispatch and Optimization of Wind and Solar Assets
  • You have gained In-depth knowledge of wind and solar power generating facilities, and battery energy storage (BESS) equipment and technologies 
  • You are proficient with personal computer applications, in particular, operational and financial modeling and budgeting
  • You possess problem solving, organization and prioritizing skills
  • You have presentation and negotiation skills

As the Civil Engineering Advisor, you will manage all aspects of Civil Engineering design and construction activities for utility-scale renewables projects (wind, solar, and energy storage) throughout the US and Canada. The Civil Engineering Advisor will also serve as an innovative subject matter expert and leader.

Everyday in this role you will:

  • Develop and Update Specifications: Lead the development of civil and foundation technical specifications for project designs and construction, and update standards based on lessons learned
  • Coordinate and Review Designs: Coordinate engineering design efforts with EPC, review design submittals with owner’s engineer support, and manage design coordination and reviews of foundations, racking/mounting equipment, BESS foundations, access roads, drainage plans, and erosion prevention
  • Evaluate and Manage Project Sites: Evaluate potential project locations for suitability based on geotechnical conditions, hydrology, topography, and other relevant factors, and manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, and various engineering disciplines to ensure high-quality project execution
  • Support and Collaborate: Lead the Civil group, support Project Engineering Managers, coordinate with Development, Permitting, GIS, and Land groups, and collaborate with independent engineering (IE) reviews
  • Procurement and Training: Assist procurement in running RFPs and managing the hiring process for civil, foundation, and geotechnical subcontractors, support operations teams with corrective actions and design-related issues, stay updated on new technologies and regulatory conditions, and train and mentor new hires, junior engineers, interns, and co-ops

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, from an ABET-accredited university or comparable technical knowledge through demonstrated work experience with a solid understanding of civil design, power generation plants, and/or utility systems
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in similar positions, designing renewable energy projects and producing standards, specifications, and documentation
  • Proficiency in civil design tools such as AutoCAD
  • Experience in day-to-day interactions with project development and construction teams
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • PMI Certification

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy and will require regular travel to project sites to perform site assessments, construction meetings and due diligence of fieldwork throughout the USA and Canada in support of site evaluation, project earthworks, and construction activities
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for the use of fleet cars, personal and or hire cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings
